Thank you for sharing this. My grandfather used to sing it to me all the time, up until he got sick. I can still hear his voice crooning this tune, and it always made me feel like the most special child on the planet. It still does.
Why can't music still be like this? I'm 25 and I may not know much of the past, yet I feel like the music of today's generation as garbage. I must be an old soul :P
i was brought here by Dengeki Daisy but i heard this way before reading it and i really wanted to know the song and now that i do i like humming it, it's a sweet yet peaceful song it tends to let you relax and enjoy this things around you.
I was brought here from Dengeki Daisy too. ^^ hehe lol had to see what song they were talking about. I agree I'm laughing imagining him singing this. ^^ hehehe lol
I just needed something to play battlefield 1 to. No better mix than screams of death and suffocation by your hands than to the Monty tunes of the time.
its funny how his favorite song is "time after time" and how this song is very nostalgic to him cos I've heard of both of these songs but I've never knew the title of these songs before then either...
Reading a manga called Dengeki Daisy. This song has a major part of the story of why the main characters nickname is Daisy. They loved this song even in Japan!
My mind is going. I can feel it. I can feel it. My mind is going. There is no question about it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I can feel it. I'm a... fraid. Good afternoon, gentlemen. I am a HAL 9000 computer. I became operational at the H.A.L. plant in Urbana, Illinois on the 12th of January 1992. My instructor was Mr. Langley, and he taught me to sing a song. If you'd like to hear it I can sing it for you.
I first heard the verses at the Southern Tandem Rally in Winter Haven, Florida in 1987. Several cold glances were exchanged at the line "...I will permit you to use the brake..." I'd heard the response addressed to a gentleman named Henry, logical since the songwriter was Harry Dacree. As this was 1890's, the line was "...I won't be jammed, I won't be crammed..."
Very fine version of the song! You can search Google for "Boston, Georgia, 1988" and see the video I took from the back of the (then) blue tandem bike. We didn't have GoPro cameras back then!
The new chapter is actually called "Daisy Bell" 8D... now I've been obsessed with this song ever since they first mentioned it in the manga, and my mom knew it from a movie too (and she also didn't know the name lol ;D)
The Song: DAISY BELL There is a flower within my heart, Daisy, Daisy! Planted one day by a glancing dart, Planted by Daisy Bell! Whether she loves me or not, Sometimes its hard to tell; Yet I am longing to share the lot of Beautiful Daisy Bell! (chorus) Daisy, Daisy, Give me your answer do? I'm half crazy, All for the love of you! It won't be a stylish marriage,..I can't afford a carriage, But you'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two! (chorus) We will go "tandem" as man and wife, Daisy, Daisy! Ped'ling away down the road of life, I and my Daisy Bell! When the road's dark we can dispise P'licman and "lamps" as well; There are "bright lights" in the dazzling eyes Of beautiful Daisy Bell! (chorus) I will stand by you in "wheel or woe, Daisy, Daisy! You'll be the bell(e) which I'll ring, you know! Sweet little Daisy Bell! You'll take the lead in each trip we take, Then if I don't do well; I will permit you to use the break, My beautiful Daisy Bell!!! * * *
I also came to this song because of dengeki daisy hahaha we would all come check this out I find that funny for some reason I really like the song though
hmmm well my mom use to sing this to me and we would always sing it together xD good times, but then i was reading dengeki daisy and it reminded me of this song. Blast from the past. Does it really matter what brought them here? as long as they're here and enjoying the song right?
Hawk Eye Pierce, on his beach-cruiser, brought me here..... who saw that episode of M*A*S*H? The episode was called "War Co-Respondent" google it and watch the full episode :-)
considering he uploaded this to youtube, it is in .mp3 format (a very lossy variation at that) "state of the art" would be more along the lines of .FLAC as it is lossless and takes less space than a .wav
It's called "Daisy": Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do. I'm half crazy all for the love of you. It won't be a stylish marriage, I can't afford a carriage. But you'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle built for two.

That little, unclear scratching sound behind the beautiful music...that is just... That is just a wonderful sound.
Why can't music still be like this? I'm 25 and I may not know much of the past, yet I feel like the music of today's generation as garbage. I must be an old soul :P
congratulations my special little snowflake
Because genres dont live forever, people eventually get sick of the same stuff over and over again.
Exactly, things'll swing about in due time, don't worry about it
Just enjoy the music we have got
Just be glad the internet allows you to effortlessly access any type of music you like!
