Having a 17-year-old who just graduated on Saturday, I definitely enjoyed this conversation.
    Outstanding conversation.

“Most people get encouragement, but what most people need is direction!” Good point!👍🏾 (It’s amazing how Kiersten effectively completes Julian’s thoughts.🙂)

I've shared with a few folks that with hindsight, I've come to the conclusion that there are some benefits growing up poor. I'm serious. I've worked in higher ed and have sometimes interacted with college students who have: a) NEVER held a paying job and/or b) are attending university, but not pursuing a major in anything I would call "useful (or maybe employable is a better word). For me, it's always been hard to understand why people would take on student debt for a hobby. I think because my family was working class, I entered college with the intention of being employable upon graduation. I certainly took classes in subjects that were personally enriching, but I pursued a degree for an in-demand job. Beginning in my sophomore year, I was looking for internships and opportunities to build my network too. Just my two cents.

Great advice. I’m sharing this with my family. Where can we find FIRE events where you all plan to attend or present?
