People shit on the matrix reloaded... even thought that the cgi is dated, it’s the cinematography that is the biggest giveaway, and isn’t grounded in reality. Obviously the entire scene isn’t grounded in reality, no pun intended, but the cinematography is a huge factor as to why we deem it as fake. Had it been locked down on a hand held system, it’d be more convincing. Regardless, it’s such a bad ass fucking scene!

Not really a fair list. Need to take into account what was possible at the time they were made. "Bad for 1998" is a different bar than "bad for 2019"...
Well to some degree but if the shot looked really crap they could have chosen practical effects instead especially with a big budget. Original Star Wars was 40 years ago and still looks good.
A lot of these shots looked very bad for the year they came out though. Compare just about any scene from Star Ship Troopers (97) with Ultraviolet (06) Supposedly techniques and technology had improved but the results were just bad.
@@jonweman6128 Facts especially the pod racing scene in the first prequel. But there's just one tiny problem that I have with that scene... One of the pods explodes before it even hits the rock. I noticed pretty quickly when I first watched it. Well not at first I saw and knew something was wrong about that scene but couldn't figure out what then I played it back in slow motion and spotted that. But other than that the entire scene was amazing they even managed to get the shadowing under the pods perfect which isn't easy to do with moving vehicles especially vehicles as fast as that.

Batman Forever
Jumanji
Harry Potter & the Sorcerer’s Stone
Hulk
I Am Legend
Tron: Legacy
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
These were nominated:
Dragonheart
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace
This one actually won:
King Kong (2005)
So, I think a little leeway must be given to 90s trailblazers like those, especially when there are others like Mortal Kombat: Annihilation out there that deserve more scorn than those listed above.
King Kong is peak CGI for anytime. It is just the right balance to look realistic enough to keep you in the movie, but not overstyled like most modern CGI
The matrix was revolutionary. The mix of practical effects and chill were amazing, and still hold up decently
