When I was a kid they taught us to not talk to strangers. I guess if he has a microphone it's okay.

When you were a kid they were probably still heavily pushing the Stranger Danger narrative, and we now have tons of evidence to show that it is not at all an effective tool to keep children safe. Mainly because the vast majority of abuse and violence is at the hands of the victim's family or someone else close to them. But also, because it's not healthy to have the mindset that everyone is dangerous just because you don't know them yet. Instilling caution is important obviously, but teaching discernment is a big part of that. We all have times in our lives where we interact with and even rely on strangers. Teaching kids to see warning signs of an unsafe person is more effective. Teaching them boundaries and autonomy. The signs that someone is probably a safe person to ask for help. All far more effective than stranger danger. He's not alone with these kids anyway. Their caregivers are there.
