- A man working on an episodic television series died in a car crash on the 57 Freeway after working a 14-hour overnight shift, according to the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees.

Probably he fell asleep at the wheel. I've worked night shoots before where the only way I got home alive was by opening all the windows and blasting the radio to keep me awake the whole way home.

I doubt it was alcohol unless he was working while drunk. The crash happened "just 20 minutes after wrapping." It doesn't sound logical a crewmember would leave the filming location after a late night at work, immediate load up on some booze and drove. He was probably tired and just wanted to head home.

Why did everyone who commented on here miss the whole important fact that CHP said alcohol may have played a role in this crash? Wtf. Bring the toxicology reports.
He maybe he was over exhausted of his work that was an impact on the body and the brain too. Someone has called 911 for him at the site of the crash.

He must've been asleep at the wheel and I know those shoots can be murder (so to speak) I used to work late at night myself as a security guard and I was always tired

Horrible story but in reality real first responders often work 16+ hours, multiple days for years. I’m sure he was compensated well for these long shifts. In the words of Super Chicken, “You knew the job was dangerous when you took it Fred (puk ack!)”
