The way I did the collar is a bit time consuming but it works and if I decide to pop my collar the stud prongs don’t show which is cool. I’m not sure if this is true for every jacket but for the jackets I’ve had the collar is made up of two separate pieces sewn together. Typically I just sort of pull the two pieces apart because they usually are stuck together so then the first layer has a bit more room. Then I stud like normal. I choose the placement, mark it off with the stud, and pierce the leather with my awl. I just go through the first piece of leather and don’t go into the second piece. Then I place the stud like normal. For the prongs you just have to bend them into place using your finger because of course the leather is in the way and you can’t use any tools. Like I said, time consuming but it’s pretty cool to flip up the collar and show no studs. Hope this was helpful
I got a leather vest I’m getting a jacket . I live up north so it’s cold from October thru march .. so I’m buying a jacket and my vest will be for the spring on down
It took me a minute to figure out what he meant by scott... lol. It's pronounced just like "shot" tho, but yes i eventually wana get a Schott NYC. Idk if i would be customizing a $1K jacket like that tho, i would customize my Laverapelle alright, but not the Schott lol
Best way is to go to a dry cleaners. Or you can clean it yourself with special leather soaps. I usually clean it with the soap. I wet a brush with the leather soap and water and rub over the jacket and then immediately dry it with it rag usually
My nick name believe it or not is Flying Ace ever since grade school and I’m 46 now. They called me that because I was in high school taking Flying lessons I always likes airplanes ✈️ I have leather jackets saying Airforce another saying Hot Mess meme. A flying ace snoopy jacket with a spade ♠️ I have little airplane pins on one. I logged 1000 hours as a pilot in an airplane ✈️! Sewing I bought for 29 dollars at hobby lobby on 1-24-21 3 pieces of leather and made patterns for vest. I hand stitched the vest together with needle n sinew. Sewing is easy if you take a little piece of plywood and put it inside the garment use a 6 penny nail and hammmer to put pilot holes in the leather about 1/8th inch THIS MAKES SEWING much easier. I painted my vest an hour ago using Christmas tree font and wrote in all red A F♠️CE IN THE CROWD. Rare Bird+Breed. Then an inverted crest at the bottom I painted with a brush. I really wish you luck on becoming more confident in Sewing 🧵 and hand painting leather. Your jacket is so cool. I studded a Phoenix on a jacket once it took thousands of studs and a scalpel and 3 full days to put them on.
My pops made em for me at his job. I think people sell dice like that on eBay though. Try dice zipper pulls. They are somewhat popular in the bomber jacket community
Leather jackets will never go out of style!
I want to get a leather jacket so bad and customize it with my band pins and stuff
@Jeeptoe get it man!
That's a tasteful and traditional way to customize a biker jacket, greaser style!
Very nice man, greasy greetings from Germany, Slaydn
Damn dude that thing looks sick, Thx for the shout-out btw
Looks awesome man! Nice job :)
x x thanks
I see a lot of blinged out jackets and a lot of times they aren’t that cool but yours is looking awesome keep it up
Greaser reminds me of the book I had to do for my novel analysis called The Outsiders.
Dude for the sides, maybe remove the laces? And put safety pins there instead that's sorta what I'm planning for mine but it's mostly focused on studs
I don’t think he’s punk
he;s not punk, he's greaser
Classy jacket, love it 😎
That’s a sweet jacket
