    This was the first season of football I ever watched as a fan, after watching the first game of the season chargers vs raiders I instantly fell in love. I was watching the best team go week in and week out winning games leading San Diego to a nice comfortable 13-3 record. All to be torn down with this one game. It was here on out where I knew it was gonna be tough being a charger fan...

    • @ArchHades
      @ArchHades 4 года назад +9

      @@starman1004 They choked against weak playoff teams. The 2006 Pats were not even remotely in the same league as the 2007 Pats. And in 2009 they lost to a rookie Marc Sanchez at home and only put up 14 points. It's just pathetic really. There have been some ugly 1 and dones by high caliber teams over the last 15 years (2011 Packers, 2012 Broncos, 2017 Steelers, 2019 Ravens) but unlike those franchises the Chargers don't have multiple Lombari trophies. The 2006 team really missed a chance as this was a real down time for the NFC and they definitely had Indianapolis' #. The 2009 team has the more pitiful loss but they would have still had their work cut out for them had they gotten past the legendary Sanchez led Jets. Lol.

  • @lukeferraro01
    @lukeferraro01 5 лет назад +21

    Chargers are the most cursed team in history. They should’ve beat the jets in this game. Sanchez had 100 yards, they weren’t doing shit with the exception of Greene. What did beat them? Nate Kaeding misses 3 field goals including two chip shots after being one of the best kickers all year. A BS call on Jammer for Pass Interference. A fucking deep pass going through Jackson’s hands bouncing off his foot, and then bouncing off his ass that lands in Revis’ hands? WHAT. THE. FUCK. Phillips fucking headbutts a player that leads to Jets scoring a TD instead of a field goal. Something that didn’t hurt us that much, but Jackson kicks the flag like a dumbass. I just don’t understand. HOW THE FUCK DO YOU LOSE ON MISSED FIELD GOALS, DUMB LUCK, AND BAD DISCIPLINE? ITS THE PROFESSIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE. Ugh it’s so frustrating. This game and the rest of the extraordinary misfortunes that have happened during Rivers time with the Chargers proves he is Hall of Fame caliber. It’s almost never been his fault. He consistently plays at a top level and is fucked over by things like coaching, special teams mishaps, and personal fouls among many other things

    This was the day that people from Iowa City, IA were both *very* proud and *very* disappointed! University of Iowa's Shonn Greene put on a *second* stellar performance in the playoffs and had improbably lead this seemingly second-tier (when compared to the heavy hitters like the Patriots, the 14-2 Colts, and the 13-3 Chargers) Jets team to the AFC Championship to gain legendary status, but had to *also* watch as both their college team's (still to this day, just two days shy of October 2020) all-time leading scorer *and* hometown boy, Nate Kaeding, went from one of the most celebrated kickers in the NFL (because, just to recap, before this game, Kaeding was headed to that year's *Pro Bowl* and was considered the *top kicker* in the NFL that season due to nearly leading the league in total accuracy and tying for the lead in number of kicks made, and was being talked about as having the potential to become one of the greatest of all-time because of his steady improvement from season-to-season) to arguably the biggest laughingstock of a kicker in playoff history!
    I'll admit, even though I'm from Ames, IA (home of the Iowa State Cyclones, University of Iowa's biggest rival), it still felt truly bizarre to me watching that and I felt both elated and terrible at the same time. Because, for the record, I *want* people coming from Iowa schools to do well on the national stage (because for anyone who hasn't lived outside the state of Iowa, we get *endlessly praised* when people from our state/our universities do well, and *endlessly mocked* when they don't. They don't care if it's not your home town or your home town school, if they hear your state attached to a person on the big stage, that person now represents *you,* whether you like it or not)! And I can only imagine how my friends in Iowa City felt (they explained it to me, but I can't say I fully understand their feelings without being in their exact shoes)!

      Gabriel Camarillo When your all pro kicker can’t hit a 36 and 40 yarder and your linebacker headbutts a player on the jets that turns a field goal into a touchdown and you lose by three fucking points meaning had only one of these actions not being committed you would’ve not lost the game... I like to boil it down to the universe and karma gods striking us down for who knows what. Whatever the reason, it’s truly painful to be a Charger fan

      I'm with you Gabriel, Chargers have had some great regular seasons but always find a way to fall on their faces in playoffs. For God sakes how many teams have lost TWICE to my Jets in the post season LOL !!?? (Chargers did it in2004 and 2009). The short answer is San Diego, Cincy, Oakland and the Baltimore/Indy franchise have lost 2 or more times to the Jets in the post season (Baltimore/Indy amazingly 3X !!).

    It seems like Kaeding has way more misses than makes in his career. Comic relief kicker. And they still ended up bringing him back after that??? They could have found a better kicker but didn't. All it did was make the team suffer in the long run regardless of who was QB. All those empty possessions by the chargers after successfully moving the ball.......Talk about deflating.

    I am surprised that the Chargers and Jets never made to the Super Bowl.I was very disappointed in both those teams.They had plenty of chances to go to the super bowl.Instead it was always Manning and the Colts,Brady and the Patriots,and Roethlisberger and the Steelers making it to Suoer Bowls in that era.Those 3 QB's and thier teams were always winning. 🤦‍♂️ I don't know if the Chargers and the Jets will ever have a chance to make it to the super bowl.Its 2023 now and Patriots,Steelers,Colts,and Jets all suck now.The only team that is good in this era is the Jumpstart Los Angeles Chargers.All they have to do is beat Mahomes and the Chiefs and the Chargers will have a Super Bowl birth since the 1994 season when they played super bowl 29 and if they win that will be the Chargers 1st championship since the early 1960's when they won the AFL title.
