He constantly puts it out there through his music that he his bars, flow, rhyme schemes, lyricism is all up there with the best, but doesn’t stick himself in a box at all. Smino always compliments whatever beat he's on to a T! I don't think he gets enough credit for his lyricism because his flows are always so creative and out-of-pocket but still in pocket, but he's actually a very good writer as well. I feel like he can write just as good as a very skilled rapper, but the way he fuses r&b or whatever it is with those melodies, that's what really sets him apart. He's really a jazz musician with his voice.
For real. His flows and rhyme schemes are so tight, but also so loose and creative at the same time. It’s very unique. Even when it comes to him singing. Anyone who truly studies the craft will recognize but for most folx, it goes over they head. They just like it but don’t know why they like it.
