Pierluigi is one of the most successful Italian jazz electric and acoustic bassists. He performed at numerous festivals and Jazz clubs throughout Europe and Asia, and has collaborated with Paul McCandless, John Taylor, Ernst Reijseger, Robert Bonisolo, Luciano Biondini, Javier Girotto, Michele Rabbia, Gabriele Mirabassi and many others jazz musicians. He is also member of the Nuevo Tango Ensamble, a jazz-tango trio that performs many concerts in the best jazz clubs or jazz festival around the world.
He’s also an appreciated composer. As a band leader, he released various albums under his name. The Italian magazines JazzIt and Jazzmagazine have dedicated considerable interviews to him. For several years, the prestigious Award Jazzit includes Pierluigi Balducci of the most important Italian electric bassists in the jazz scene. He teaches bass guitar for Jazz at Matera music university.
