Bryan Ladd - I love how you play an original bass line that keeps the feel and the energy of Jaco's original line. This is an AWESOME version of this song! You and your trio are great!
very nice !!! what sound !!! you are very luky to play together !! it's my dream to find other musicians like you ! keep that in spirit it's very precious !! good luke to you and for your music . Jaco must be happy to see musician like you !! Thierry from france
Nice arrangement... I love it! Real smooth and relaxed. A nice fresh take on this. Very much a band arrangement... not just a solo bass piece. You guys work well together as an ensamble.
Great tribute!!! Love the way you put your spin on this and made your way instead of copying note for note. Hats off to all three of you guys, but mostly the bass player. Cheers from California
Nice sounding trio I do think after 40 years of bass playing and growing up with Jaco, that Mr ladd needs to attack those notes a little harder but all in all a great performance thanks guys
Great stuff! The three instruments I love most too (although I'm slightly more partial to the Mark I than the II). I don't really understand why there are two dislikes ...
everything is perfect here and it´s good that Jaco is still that powerful and present... btw there is a documentary movie about Jaco out now produced by Robert Trujillo (Metallica) which is currently shown at several festivals. I pledged for it and will get the DVD which should be available soon. The movie is called "JACO The Film"
I personally don't like jazz, it sounds like one big warmup session. But I do respect the musicians playing it and I must say, you guys are some of the best I've seen in a long time ! Great playing, especially the bass piece !
A little bit off topic but, Does anyone know if the aria pro csb-300 (bass guitar) is any good to take on stage? And is it worth to repair it for 2l 100$ worh new fretwork?
An instrument is a tool. Jaco used what Jaco used, and Bryan has his Fodera. This is a fabulous interpretation of an iconic piece - it’s not meant to be a facsimile.
mytubeaccount you obviously aren't a musician, and if you are, you have never played with someone as good as these three men are. It's obvious it's not faked and there is a lot of SOLID talent in this trio.
sounds a bit like jealousy to me - could be wrong, but don't think so. i've played for 33 years; i've played alllllllll kinds of basses, son, and someone would have to pry my foderas from my cold dead hands.
Beautiful music. I need this on CD! Everyone played beautifully. Thank you.
Nothing tops a great rhythm trio doing their thing.

Wow... Reeeaallyyyy great performance !

Is there any sane person on this planet, who doesn't like the sound of a Fender Rhodes? I doubt that
True dat.
+Lauritz Wiesinger
Deaf people wont like it. :-p
best keyboard ever
23 don´t ;-)

Just incredible! What a great tribute and rendition of Havona. Excellent
I really don't understand those people who dislike this kind of music. Kudos to the Bryan Ladd Trio! :)
My favorite Jaco bass run. You guys are amazing, but that bassist...SON!!!! Whaaaattt!!??
That was mind-blowingly good !. Amazing playing from all three.
Excellent guys... thanks 🎹🎶🎸🥁
I'm loving Justin Stanton on the Rhodes! Damn what a great trio
Wow, that drummer is great!
Great playing and beautiful bass
beautiful, playing, by all three,
Nice interpretation of his work.... The band is really sensitive and listens well.
Beautiful sound!!!!
That's the most emotional keyboard player I've ever seen.
very very good
Verry good playing!
Beautiful

Excellent !

Great stuff! The three instruments I love most too (although I'm slightly more partial to the Mark I than the II). I don't really understand why there are two dislikes ...
Loved it...
I love it !
Great groove.
This is great! Thank you!
I love how he's playing a Jaco tribute on a fretted bass
Not saying he's bad, never said that.
Jaco played upright and fretted basses too ya know!
Nice sound
Hell yea!
Very good.
everything is perfect here and it´s good that Jaco is still that powerful and present...

Manring titled a song after what Trujillo (s/t) said to him
Great ,
*****StarsPlus Verry good playing!
This seems very much like a Return to Forever song from Where Have I Known You Before?
how does the bassist get his sound i cant find it on my bass... I dig it... its just too smooth.
+Bully ThaKidd Delay pedal and a pinch of soulfulness :)
Allen Brown also Fodera lol....but I would imagine he is dialed in hard on the bridge with his highs turned down on the EQ ...
Allen Brown One word: mids
Allen Brown $ 8.000 bass. Lol but my mans fingers are doing all of the talking bro.
@@bassmanx357 $8,000? Try $11,000. Lol. I own one very similar to his, although his back is walnut and mine is mahogany.
This is insane :)
That's a great take on Havona.

Hey. Does anyone know what's up with the snare? There's something on the rim, like a padding. I'm not a drummer but very curious about it.
***** Thanks for the info! :)
HOT!
Drummer kicks ass
Niccolò Moretti impara a suonare cosi la batteria
Very nice music. Was that a fodera bass?
Koen Klijnsmit yes
Very nice! I like that company, great work ethics and attention to quality and detail.
Is that a 35" scale Fodera?
+Koen Klijnsmit maaaaan, but that little butterfly is sooooooooo pricey!!! LOL.
A little bit off topic but,
Does anyone know if the aria pro csb-300 (bass guitar) is any good to take on stage?

100$ worh new fretwork?
Yes
any body know about that snare?
Specs of this bass?
So pretty! :)
"Wheather Report" 2015
Whats the name of that bass?
leandro samuel some kind of fodera bass. probably an emperor model.
Great piece. I'll be looking for more. But there are so many reasons this isn't all that jaconian. But that's fine. It's a tribute.
What's the song?
Please
Havona- Weather Report
Somehow the was ... Some Spain chords in there.
too bad, why used one fodera bass, was jaco used it? please for jaco FENDER JAZZ BASS PLEASE! 4 STRING AND Fretless
An instrument is a tool. Jaco used what Jaco used, and Bryan has his Fodera. This is a fabulous interpretation of an iconic piece - it’s not meant to be a facsimile.
did him right
Why do all bass players have no legs these days!
Jaco dug this shit on 4 Man
And what's your point?Youre listening to a different version.4 string 5 string it's still music.
These guys are good fakers. There is no way someone can play like that with hands. Its all from a synthesizer
mytubeaccount you obviously aren't a musician, and if you are, you have never played with someone as good as these three men are. It's obvious it's not faked and there is a lot of SOLID talent in this trio.
Shane Bentley The dictionary definition of sarcasm should help you out.
If its from an synthesizer this channel wouldn't post it on RUclips.
And you probably don't play an instrument. Yore just jealous
Olof Swann sarcasm dude :) just sarcasm
Jaco only needed four strings.
Alek Baublis hahahahaha this fucking comment is always around 😂
IKNOW! Good point.
Not this again
Except that he played 5 string basses on a pretty regular basis....
@@xneurianx sources please?
Seems to me that wearing a baseball cap is a bassplayer standard...
Too bad.
+Bankovic Alexandre Interesting... I've never worn one.
Signed,
A. Bass Player.
Bankovic Alexandre It’s actually a bassball cap.
this Fodera sounds like a crap - overrated basses imo
Higashiyama Japan
How so? Tone sounds tight and buttery to me.
I'm with you on that one, Alan. Couldn't ever bring myself to buy on though. The kids would end up a bit thin!
sounds a bit like jealousy to me - could be wrong, but don't think so. i've played for 33 years; i've played alllllllll kinds of basses, son, and someone would have to pry my foderas from my cold dead hands.
