One thing that definitely helps for improving is JUST KEEP ON SINGING. This is by far the most important.
I unlocked or discovered what mix was last year but in the beginning my mix was really weak and very inconsistent. One moment I could do it easily next moment my voice was mostly cracking but I just kept on singing and kept on researching ways to improve.
Recently I discovered the SOVT method and that really helped balance out my voice a lot! Whitney from the singing straw really did a number for me.
And now my mix is wayyy better, much more consistent now and it is really satisfying knowing thhat I am making a lot of progress. Yes it takes time, but if anything for me it is all about keeping on trying and never giving up, that's where any progress is fundamentally built.
Thanks for your work Tyler , I always watch your videos because you give really great insights on the dynamics of mix voice specifically. Always something to learn from your great well edited videos.

So easy to understand! I've been stuck in a rut of trying to do bratty Nay's to find my mix... I've had teachers literally just scream the exercise at me and it just doesn't work. I love how Tyler uses different approaches and actually explains why. It's so important 👌🏼

  • @James.Suarez

I love how you’re so on point!! The approach is how I found my mixed voice without knowing it was a mixed voice, I just find it easier for my throat and less stressful singing in mixed voice, I sing almost everyday and Have seen improvement from the last ten years. Definitely practice pays off!! Subscribed 1000x!

HA!!! Thats a song we worked on together!!! I have to say, I'm singing in that placement, you describe, now! It is so much easier to sing there and the resonance is wonderful. Talk about pleasure in singing! Singing from there is also freeing me up to pay more attention to the beat! My focus is finally turning to singing the song rather than hitting pitches!

Hey Tyler! Love your videos. Can you imagine making videos reacting to popular singers and analysing their techniques, explaining their approaches. For me personally the Weeknd would be a very interesting example!

Tyler did an amazing video a few weeks ago about the "oo" vowel in which you suck in air slightly, let the air flow to feel it in the face and how this same feeling can help achieve the forward placement needed in the mix. And if you notice The Weeknd, he always shapes his mouth in a rounded "oo" when he sings. Tyler is spot on!👌🏼

The Best way to reach it is with your Diaphragm. It's the easiest and safest way to reach. Great Video by the way. Rage Depends on your type of Voice, For Tenors that's easy for Bass that would be really hard.
