Thanks! I'm sold on helmets with visors now. I ride in Arizona where we have 300+ sunny days each year, and a visor keeps the sun and glare out. And I totally agree with you about heat management. As a mountain biker, you are rarely moving enough air through to ventilate properly, and I find myself overheating in some helmets more than others.
My giro savant is on death's door so have been thinking about a new lid and has been thinking about one of these newer semi aero venty situations. Great information about ventilation at speed vs when riding slower. Lots of gravel, climbing and singletrack for me so maybe the vallegro is a better pick! Keep up the great work- I think this is the best cycling review channel on youtube :)
Not having the up/adjusting band on the back would be a plus for me. I absolutely detest that feature. I have a Kask and I hate that helmet. First of all, it doesn't fit the shape of my head that well. (I don't fault Kask for that.) Secondly, the sliding feature of the band irritates me. It will move as I wear it. If I adjust the helmet on my head back or forward, it will move that band a click or two each time. I came close to giving it to a friend of mine who I know it will fit better but keep it because it does have a little extra room in it, so I keep it for a winter helmet. I only wear it on the coldest days which is very few where I live. Otherwise, that one helmet has turned me off to Kask. But, I might give the Washabi a shot if I could try one on first.
Thank you for calling out the non adjustability in the back, adjustability is necessary to fit my pony tail, as I can’t stand it low on my neck, is there enough room to pull a ponytail through (so the pony tail sits on top the dial) since it can’t be expanded?
Probably the Specialized Propero series. They're damn good value. The BBB Hawk helmet blew me away with how good it was for $80. I just didn't like the way it looked 😂 Then there's MET and Mavic who have some really good options around $200. I do still rate the Kask Mojito3 but it's a little more expensive
I got the helmet based on this video and I collect all the current top models from practically all brands. My opinion? Straps are too thick and uncomfortable same as the supposedly all aero Utopia. Not safe either as no rotational impact protection tech. Finishing isn't the best either compared to competitors. Fit? Not as comfy as offerings from Giro and MET. The sliding aero vent is an interesting gimmick similar to my Sweet Protection Falconer II Aero (another shit very expensive helmet that I regretted). Want a gravel helmet that's superior in every way to this Kask? Get the discontinued Lazer G1 MIPS on sale right now which is the lightest but also no 3 Virginia Tech rated or if you sweat a lot the new Bell XR. I want to sell my Wasabi but since the resale is shit as well I'll probably give it to my 12 year old who's learning how to bike in very slow speed.
There is no reasonable explanation as to why this helmet costs more than ten times more than a department store Bell helmet. I've seen kids toys that are more complicated for less than $50.
$300-350, are you serious?! That's the price of a really nice motorcycle helmet and more than the majority of scooter helmets. I profit margins on bikes, components and accessories must be insane. And its only getting higher with these electric hydro groupsets. If Bell can sell helmets for $30 dollars and Shimano complete groupsets for
At least clean the helmet before you film it...aaaahhhhh it is like when people want to sell a car or a bike and take photos of it covered in mud, dust, filthy stuff and then post them in the advertisement as used stuff for sale... Non sense!!!!

Great review! Very helpful for me in deciding on the wasabi 😊

Thanks so much Andrew, really appreciate that feedback!
Great review. Looking for a helmet to compliment my Valegro. Wanted something more aero but suspect I’d only get 3-4 months use in Perth.
i have the old Kask Infinity I don't use anymore.. the thing was heavy compared to modern giro and kask top end helmets.

Did you review the Kask Infinity?

Great review, What would be your recommendation for a $200AUD all round road bike helmet?

I just bought one on sale at supers

400 is not worth it. It's 350 USD on Amazon if you think that's worth it. I got the Kask's Valegro for 90 USD on Amazon.
On sale for 130 USD in Europe, I am tempted
You need test abus airbreaker
Lovely thing. When will the budget version be introduced (or will it be introduced at all)?
Not a fan of those fake leather straps
I'm avoiding getting any helmet with those fake leather straps in the future.
It actually looks too small on your head
It definitely lacks the overhangs of many modern helmets. Like the POC Octal which feels like an astronaut's head-covering bubble
@@JustRideAdelaide It's like a throwback to the mushroom style helmets of the 1980s and early 1990s!
@@JustRideAdelaide ..agree. My new Giro Aether Spherical MIPS helmet virtually merges with my sunglasses
🙏 Thank you for sharing! Don't miss out - Promo-SM!!

if you serious about safety, just wear motorcycle helmet. its cheaper also.
No just get a NTA rated cycling helmet. Lighter, more ventilation, doesn't look silly.
