    At 4:30 I think you meant "Prevalence of having common-flu (outcome) in the cases" and "Prevalence of smoking (exposure) in the controls".

      Hello! Thanks for your attention. I think you may have misunderstood it, Actually, all cases do have the outcome and no control does so. Now by comparing the prevalence of smoking in case and control groups we come up with the idea wether smoking has a significant association with the outcome.       It's a hybrid design, this is what it is given as in Gordis epidemiology book

      Hello deer Sonowal! thanks for commenting. In fact, stratified cross-sectional studies, nested case-control studies and case cohort studies are modified forms of the tree main study types(cross sectional, case control, cohort).
