Good video!! I bought a Blackhawk in the .45c and love it. The next Blackhawk will be in .41 mag. Ammo around here is hard to find but I’ll be reloading so it won’t be a problem. What powder and bullet weight do you use when reloading the .41??
I grew up shooting my grand dads ruger blackhawks in 41 and 357 mag. We took more than a few hogs with those guns. They’re the old 3 screw models. They’ve been passed down to me now those guns are over 50 yes pls and they still shoot great.
while i dont have a .41 blackhawk, i do have a S&W model 657 in this caliber. to me the 41 is a superior round that amazes me that it didnt catch on in popularity.
Nice video! Been in love with my Blackhawk in.41 Rem Mag since 1965. I recently acquired a Marlin Trapper Model in 30-30. I got it cheap and it's in a terrific shape. I know there are a couple of lever guns out there in .41 Mag but I'm wondering about having this Trapper re-chambered in .41 Mag for Whitetail here in the NY Catskills. Any ideas on that?
nice 41 mag, I got the super blk hunter 41 with a half cock power customs trigger and hammer kit and it made reloading a breeze in comparison, i do recomend for any blackhawk. It was pretty easy to install as well anyway the grips on the hunter are a tad bigger and the front sight can be replaced easily.
@41maglover Hey thanks for the comment on this. I think that the grips could be a bit bigger. However, I have definitely learned to shoot this much better. It took me a while to get used to the recoil of both my .41's. What grips did you put on yours or did they come with the hunter model?
@X-Ray Crystallography Looks like he's not going to answer that. But from my experience, the .41 shoots flatter, is more accurate, has 25% less recoil and still can take anything in the lower 48.
I have the .41 in the Ruger Blackhawk. Is it true that ammo companies have threatened to discontinue production of the caliber? If so will there be components available for reloading like bullets and cases? I was thinking of stocking up these items because this is a great pistol and a fantastic caliber. It nears .44 mag in power and kicks a lot less. I wouldn't mind in my old age that fiber optic sights were available for it. But it looks like the front sight is soldered on.
i believe the hunter model has the same grip frame as the super blackhawk but with a round trigger guard. The recoil on the hunter is not to bad cuz the weight but I would rather take the regular 41 in back country. As to what grips i have they are spalted maple burl grips from klamathriverwoodworks and how do those grips feel with recoil?

41 ❤
Great to see the younger shooters enjoying this great old cartridge. Don't let it fade away!!
I love my ruger .41 magnum
Ass it sits in the closet collecting dust.
I have owned a .41 mag Black Hawk since 1971! Great gun to shoot.

Love the .41 mag!!!
Ruger western guns are my favorite. Professional gunfighters would not want to carry the Ruger. Way too heavy. I have the 41 magnum and the 44.
Beautiful. I look forward to owning a pair. And the video is well shot. Thank you for the honest and informative video.

Yep
7:13 - 7.21 I believe you meant to say Ruger instead of Colt. You may want to add a notation in the video to clarify.
You're dreaming let's see 1873 vs 1964?
Oh yeh !.....HA ha ha ha ha
I have two in 4 5/8 and now 6 1/2 inch barrels. I love them.
Excellent video friend. Very informative.
Been toying with the idea of a Redhawk or Blackhawk for some time now. Thanks for the info.
@scooter17568 And... the best part is that they are inexpensive compared to other revolvers. They are built like tanks.

It's a great cartridge.
I hope my husband gets one for hunting
“It has a bar here” learn nomenclature if you’re going to do a video...
