- Today, I interviewed Don McLean the legend behind American Pie.
We talked about the future of music with artificial intelligence, how he doesn’t see Dua Lipa as a real singer, his legacy with American Pie, George Floyd and many other things.
Don was an awesome guest to have on, where while probably being the most eccentric person I’ve ever interviewed, was one of the most fun.

Busy morning, but I was blessed w/getting to watch this and I totally love this interview. I love the "q's" and the "a's", they're great!💯🌟 I'll check out the rest of this video later on today/tonight. I'm very interested in what he has to say due to the fact that I have written some Christian songs and I have no idea what I'm going to do w/them. I've written four so far.

Excellent to see and hear Don McLean. Don was fortunate to get massive air play leading to his top hits back then. Some other great artists - such as JJ Cale - unfortunately did not get much air play at all. All the Best to Don McLean.

Going to give the credit to my guy Mike Mazzarone, who I’ve worked with for six years and has booked me some great names.
He saw Don had a documentary coming out, asked his agent and hey, cold email turned into this.

Fun fact: Don Mclean inspired 'Killing Me Softly with His Song', cowritten and first recorder by Lori Liebermann.
Then recorded by Roberta Flack, it was #1 on Billboard for five weeks. It won the Grammy for Best Single, Roberta's second. First being, 'First Time I Ever Saw Your Face'. Like Adele in the early 70's. It is ashamed very few pop songs like this are released now.

Idk that I’d regard him as a one hit wonder. Vincent, castles in the air, and Crying I think are fairly well known. Or maybe that’s just where I am people know those songs. Perhaps I’d be better off consulting the charts from those times
