- Israel’s Defence Minister Yoav Gallant warned Hamas that it had made a “grave mistake” in launching the attack, which began at 06:30am local time (03:30 GMT) on Saturday and involved barrages of rockets fired from multiple locations in Gaza as well as fighters infiltrating the Israeli border by land, sea and air.
After following for a few days from home I grabbed my camera, and a plane ticket and have flown to Israel to cover the ongoing and escalating conflict.

Wili, Hamas and Hezbollah are very different organizations. To begin with, some of them are Shiites and others are Sunnis. And this means that there is no friendship between them. This also applies to Iran. Iran will support Hezbollah, but its ties with Hamas will be carried out only through Egypt and Turkey. Iran is not well liked there, and its actions are regarded as interference in Arab affairs. Thus, Iran's strike on Israel is associated with the deterioration of the situation of Hezbollah, not Hamas. Another problem is that Israel's policy risks uniting the entire Muslim world against it. Which is fraught with really serious consequences. Turkey and Saudi Arabia, which could have supported Hamas, were excluded from this conflict due to ties with the United States. But due to some unwise actions of recent administrations, these ties are weakening. Thus, the petrodollar was canceled. A war with Hezbollah could lead to Iran being truly involved in it. He is able to provide his allies with technologies that the "Patriots" of Ukraine will not be able to cope with. The fall of the "Iron Domes" could lead to disaster in Israel. China's position on this issue will be important. Russia maintains a tacit understanding with Israel. That's why I don't think it will directly supply Muslims with something really dangerous for Israel. But China is not deterred by such moral constraints.
Interestingly, Hezbollah was created as a result of Israeli actions. So is Hamas. If Hamas was supposed to keep the mask of fanatical terrorists for the Palestinian liberation movement, then Hezbollah arose as a result of Israel's unsuccessful attempt to put its puppets in Lebanon. Some time ago, Lebanon was governed by a secular government. And it was considered one of the Arab countries closest to Europe. There was a balanced ratio of Muslims, Christians and Druze in power. Christians had some advantages. Israel also supported Christians and at one point decided to invade Lebanon to help Christians gain full power in Lebanon. It was then that the unification of Muslims led to the creation of Hezbollah, and the power of Christians weakened.

Russia's "restraint" in arming Arabs with real game changing weapons isn't due to some moral stance (vs Chinese "immorality?).
Russia plays a softer game with Israel because of all the Russian/Ukrainian Jews in Israel. Even though they left Russia those Jews have a different political/social outlook from the local born Israelis. Moscow can play to those "Russians" in their own language and style as a way to influence Israeli society & politics.
There are enough "Russian" Jews who barely qualified for immigration due to tenuous "Jewishness" that plenty of them go back and forth to Russia and can be persuaded by Moscow's tactics

It's like playing good cop and bad cop. U.S. support for Israel prevents Americans from establishing close relations with Arabs. And this significantly reduces the price of friendship with the Arabs for Russia. After all, the Arabs would have easily moved to the star-spangled camp if Israel had not been there. As it has already happened with Egypt. What Russia would like is to maintain the status quo. But for this, Israel's appetites must be significantly reduced. If Israel escalates, it is quite possible that Iran will receive modern air defense technologies from Russia. But Russia will be against handing over anything that could destroy Israel's air defenses. Russia is interested in strengthening the defense capabilities of all sides.

His channel took a serious hit at that time as well, viewership dropped and the comments were full of people disappointed by his one sided, disingenuous reporting.
I agree that on the whole, he’s a really sound and fair reporter, and isn’t afraid to address the inconvenient or unpopular truths…but when it came to isr, he failed tremendously.
