honestly makes me feel good to know that I'm not the only one who finds this boss extremely unnerving. I get a cold sweat every time I'm about to go take them out. The descent and wait for them to appear is one of the most horrifying gaming experiences for me.
it's like hunting an abyss monster in barotrauma
cool boss, he gets a lot of points for being absolutely HORRIFYING
Yep
Not THAT horrifying compared to angler fish from Outer Worlds though 🥶
but what if it moved
Not many things in Noita actually spooked me to any real extent, but Leviathan was definitely one of them, mainly because it's so hard to see besides its huge glowy eye. Other strong contenders would be the toothy Lukkis and Tiny / Limatoukka.
Tiny is so well hidden that you normally must know about it and go out of your way to fight it, so you sort of brace yourself beforehand (although its still scary). The Leviathan on the other hand is easier to discover by accident (as long as you have breathless)
I beg to differ, I found kolmi and was scared that if I took one more step I would die and lose all my progress and ai also was thinking "All that and I'm only on the FIRST BOSS?!"
As someone afraid of deep water, simply going down to find Levi was freaking me out. Once I actually came across it, I just lost it. Was not prepared for the size of that unit
@@62mag62 It took me a long time to get over my fear of deep water to go exploring the Lake, even with the Breathless Perk it was still freaking me out.
I really wanted to go to lukki lair just for how scary it seemed, and it was. Large spiders in video games aren't usually scary since I don't think I'm aracnophobic, but seeing the red eyes sway around in pitch darkness just to see it emerge legs first into dim light is quite something
I could only fight this thing during the run I turned water into Ambrosia. It scares me immensely to be in the lake
I hate how deep it is so much, so stressful to go down into it
ayy in my most recent run I shifted water into ambrosia lol. Used it to visit the west world for the first time
Excellent video! Thanks for posting. I thought this was just going to be a quick tip video, but you went into a lot of details about the boss, how his mechanics work, various ways to defeat him, the disappearing chest, and the consequences of defeating him!
I wish you had posted this a couple months ago, back when I was struggling to defeat Leviathan, lol. I'm not even sure what type of damage killed him in the end, I put a ton of modifiers on my wand. It might have been the been Damage Field spells. I lost my Greater Chest, I didn't know there would be a reward for defeating him.
My man is called the Deep creature.
I am wheezing.
another youtube told me a good way for fighting the Leviathan is holy lance, i'm currently doing what i hope to be my sun run and wanted the portal room for my dark side of the key quest, even have my route back from under the lava river in 5 notes. hehe.
Great video, Fury! thanks for thetips and info as always!
If you pre-shift water into something else via fungal shift, and then defeat him, does he shift the pre-shifted water into steam too?
imagining someone stopping right before the end of this guide to go do it and then needing fire immunity
Beating the boss is one thing ! But staying alive in this game and becoming powerfull enough to do it and get the right perks and the right wand setup for it is another ! Its a merciless gauntlet to even get to a point where you can actually even beat the boss :D ! Noita man ! I think its one of the most savagely unforgiving games i ever played ! Still love it though :D !
I can't wait for the all-boss cheese video.
Just beat the leviathan for the first time during a god run! It was a pretty intense fight. I decided to play the big boss confrontation 2 music from Super Metroid and it just perfectly fit the vibe
Thanks Fury! I was waiting for that boss tutorial!
This guy took me ages to cross off the list, even when I wasn't cheesing him, he usually ended up killing himself.
yeah having that same problem, made a save backup and i'm glad i did because he unalived himself also, now i'm trying to figure out how to kill him instead of bullying him to death
note that you probably gonna fight this boss at 2 frames per second
I wonder what happens to the Leviathan if you shift water to lava
Nothing probably.
Hi! I love watching your noita videos this game is so chill and your videos are too
Waiting for some gameplay videos
Thank you. I've made many videos of Noita on both this channel and my second: ruclips.net/user/furysquared - I don't upload much gameplay to this channel, as I enjoy making more showcase-style videos here.
I have never killed the lake boss, done pretty much everything else. But I have severe thalasophobia, even in games I can't be under water for extended times, specially not fighting sea creatures in the depths, nightmare fuel. I have to do a run where I turn all water to steam or something so I can actually kill this thing for once.
Wow. What causes him to shoot a stream of projectiles like that? Does he shoot an extra one every time he takes damage or something? Kinda terrifying.
Yep. Shoots every time he gets damaged. I learnt it the hard way.
Same principle as wand connoisseur
well, guess i was lucky enough to get a giga black hole spell and then stumbled on this boss for the first time and just killed it lol, but it was kinda a dissapointing experience, thought he would have more attacks and interesting behavior
Is that Mass Effect 4
No, Pacman.
I just played a seed where the first fungal shift was water to rock... the fight in that would be funny
holy crap that took like 2 seconds
BUT! what if I shifted poison into lively concoction?
whoops
One word: Mana!
answer is play for 7000hours get good and do it by using one of these videos :D
YEAH NOITA
Nice
i forgot how much there is to this game because i havent had a god run in so long
I used only giga black hole to kill Levi. Took me about 30 mins and i didn't even get the achievement.
COOL
challenge run, kill levi within 5 minutes in vanilla no eggs.
Hey fury nice video have you heard about terraria 1.4.4 update it has tons of new stuff that you should check out or did you quit terraria?
Fish gang fish gang
My biggest issue is working up the courage to dive into ANY deep body of liquid in this game. Over 300 hours and I've never been in the lake or in hell because of my thalassophobia to travel both the seemingly infinite lava and water. It's indescribably horrifying
pro tip:
Don't crash the game.
i've had him disappear due to a crash. :(
Leviathan is the only boss in Noita that manages to make me genuinely afraid.
Usual suspect again?
"Malcolm Guss Jr"←Sounds like the usual suspect.
I find this boss unreasonably scary even though I’ve killed him a number of times. Big monsters underwater freak me out. I still get scared of Emerald Weapon in FF7
The void in subnautica is horrifying to me
@@8-bitato
I don't know a single person who wasn't scared of the void. Even my dude who is never scared by horror in games turned right around and said noooope as soon as he hit the all encompassing darkness and heard the ghost leviathan screams lol
Its called Thallassophobia - Fear of large bodies of water or expanses of open space..
and i agree..... its extreme at the lake... i cant even cross the lake without teleport its so bad...
love emerald weapon, thats started my love of giga sea monsters
@@Dubmentia i went straight in, lol my reaction was nope, we are speeding right through this. lol, i didint make it
I like how they designed this boss to be virtually unkillable with insane resistances under the expectation that we'll go out in an endless search for Holy Lance randomly appearing on a wand somewhere, but also made it so that if you do manage to kill it that your reward despawns.
This guy was added way before holy lance
When I went to kill all the alternate bosses for the first time, plasma beam cross was my go to for just about all of them. Levi was a challenge that I had to read up on in order to figure out how to kill it, as those resistances are tough to deal with. Did try the giga black hole, but I was lazy and just swapped the normal black hole on my digging wand, so the speed ups and projectile repulsion didnt help at all. Never even thought to use a trigger to keep the thing in place. That run I was also struggling to find and weakening curses, so I wasnt really looking forward to searching for one.
I did end up crashing my game a few times in my attempts to kill it. Turns out all those "revenge" projectiles it shoots really stack up fast with plasma beams...
Use circle of shielding to rflect his projectiles. Also, circles will not apply projectile weakness to him like on the other bosses.
Make sure you grab your chest aaaand it's gone!
Happy Noiting! comment section
Beat this boss twice but haven’t got him in progress
we need guide "how to not instantly die from from random shit on the way to boss", the only once i made insane build with destructive wand and this random mage from nowhere swaped me with himself and i killed myself
with all these videos soon ill be able to 'easily defeat' all of Noita
I love this guy
Thank you ;D
In my current playthrough I'm scared to go to the river because water fungal shifted to acid, which evaporates and a lot of evaporated liquid (for me) makes for a laggy game but there's a entire lake so im worried it will make it unplayable
I don't understand how posion trail works with this boss.
Oh man I have so smiple wepon I can share but I dont know the spell name its so good vs this boss
indeed.
Is there any way to get the water back without fungal shifting?
Not without fungal shifting, no. If you have a flask of water before the shift (or find a flask of smoke-transformed after the shift) then you can potentially turn that back into water if the seed has a *flask -> water* shift. Otherwise, no more aqua.
@@FuryForged Of course the water will be displaced due to it being steam, even if you shift it back to water
Great video! I hope to get to try it soon ;) Happy Noiting!
