    It looks like ya all had fun out thee. Just a tip from a old snow wheeler , you need to air down till you have a good buldge in your tires. This will give you at LEAST a 600% increase in traction. I can't say a set pressure for those car tires, but start at 15 psi, and go down 2 psi at a time till you can move without spinning. My jeep on 35 MTZ's the best is 4 psi for really deep and wet snow ,as in over the hood deep. My GMC Xcab full size on 46 mickey's run at 2 psi for the best traction, 4psi for snow like you encountered and dry off road travel. One locker in the back is always the second upgrade after tires, it is needed for stuff like this trip to keep at least one tire with grip moving forward. There is much less spinning and chance of breaking stuff like axels when a spinning tire finally gets grip. Have fun out there and stay safe. CHEERS Steve h.

      Thank you so much Steve for the tip. For your full size GMC, did you have beadlocks to get it that low? Regarding the 4 psi down, did you mean go down 4 psi from 15 psi or start at 4 psi? I’m still learning more about proper tire pressures for snow wheeling and I truly appreciate your help.

    • @1sheinz
      @1sheinz 3 года назад +1

      On my full size I did have Staun double beadlocks, but my jeep has normal rims and I do go to 4 when needed. But you have to be gentle on the steering wheel and not slide into a log or rock sidways as you will blow a bead. Not a problem if you have a jack and a good air pump. But start at 19 then go to 17 15 13 11 watching your tire bulge as you go. Without bead locks your pretty safe down to 10, and be careful and fill up to 10 after the worst is over. Its OK to have one crease in the side wall at low pressure without a beadlock but 2 creases with a bead lock will give max floatation and max grip. This works best with tires that have a bit of sidewall tread.

      @@1sheinz Oh okay got you. Yeah for my full size when I took it out (the one on the video) I only had it at 25 so definitely will lower it down to 19 first when I go back out in the snow. I don't have any beadlocks for my rig so I think I'll go down to 19 and see how it feels when I drive it up. Thank you so much for the tip Steve. I appreciate it man.

    Does the Outlander have a lift or just larger tires? And what kind of tires are they? I've been looking into a 40mm lift for my '17 but if I can get away with just tires that'd be great.

      @GeefromBC  2 года назад +2

      Hey man. My buddy has a level (I’m assuming 2” lift) on his outlander to fit 235/70/R16. I guess it depends on what you’re going to be using the vehicle for cause my buddy now has another vehicle just for 4x4.

      Yeah man it was fun. I don’t have lockers. Didn’t need it really for the snow I went to in the video but recovery gears is a must though. I think lockers are more meant for off camber rock crawling and/or a steep hill climb on dirt/mud. Only on occasion you might need to use it with very deep snow but you can always use Max tracks (traction pads). Hope that helped man 👍🏽
