A button idea I came up with is moving to-dos to tomorrow, so you select the to-dos database, filter by today. and edit page to set to tomorrow. you can move all to-dos that are today to tomorrow
@@MyBarneystinson You have to choose the option "Pick a date" and put the Date on tomorrow (You sadly need to change the date everyday but it can be useful for quickly moving everything to tomorrow)
I'm sure you can follow. Just create the buttons click by click your first time THEN try creating your own button. After going through these exercises.
Thanks Carter! This is one of the most useful new features from Notion I've seen. I've already put this to good use. I've got my daily routine automated! One thing to speed up the button creation I found, especially if you have a lot of pages you have to scroll through, is to select the three dots next to a step property and 'duplicate' it. Saves a few seconds, especially if you have many items on your routine list to do.
thank you so much, Carter,🥺I recently started using Notion and struggling a lot to get everything in place...just came across your videos and NGL, it helps me a lot. I learned all the basics from your videos and still learning from them. Great work. i really. really love watching your videos. thank you again♥♥
So great, thank you!!! Do you know if theres a way to add 2 assignees and have the status not change until they both press their own "Rewvied by X" "Reviewed by Y"" buttons?
You dragged from the task table and later, when the calendar was clear, (4:50) you clicked the button Plan Tasks again and all the elements were there again. In my case the database is empty. I followed all the steps. What can I do? Thanks!🤗
Hey Productive Dude Community, I'm trying to set up Parent and Subtasks using Notion buttons but facing an issue. When I go into the button configuration, the dropdown menu for Parent and Subtask shows my existing tasks, which are not the tasks I want to set as default for my new blog post workflow. I can set up default tasks that are not parent-sub task relation but the Parent & Subtask seems a bit more complete. Hope this makes sense. How can I set it up so my button generates the specific Parent and Subtasks I need?
Hi, Carter. s there a way to create a button that affects just the current day entry in a database and not all the entries present in it? Because I created one and it changed my previous data (and couldn't change it).
Great Video and a great new way to create things. One more question in the case of using the button to create a new entry in a database where I have several templates I have created when I choose "New", default, new item, old item. Is there a way for the button to create a new entry with the "old item" template?
Unfortunately it doesn't look like buttons have the ability to choose templates yet, but hopefully very soon they add this feature! Looks like a lot of people are requesting it.
No doubt. The buttons are a great thing. However, if you have a "menu" on each page (as I do have), then you might as well just click on the "menu item" (where you want to add a new page) and then the blue "New" button. Therefore, if you are already in the database where you want to add a new item, it is the same number if clicks (and you save the space for the button); and if you are on another page/view of another database, then it is one click in addition. As much as people use Notion to streamline their day, this time should be available. All in all, for many use-cases shown in videos (see for instance your "mark reviewed" case, there is no real benefit (in fact, the line/space you need for the button is same size, if not bigger, then just keep the property open. All that said, maybe you can help me: Is it possible to use a button to "start a search in an identified database" (i.e. no reference to a specific page)?
Please make a video for how can I make a sync block template. Because before introducing buttons I can use it as you guide in previous videos , but now I can’t create sync blocked templates after button. Please guide me.
1 and 6 are something most beneficial for me, will definitely try these out. 7 is a cool feature too. I have a question - Is there any limit on how many steps can one include in a button?
You can create a button to open a new page in a database like in Carter's tutorial, then create a template inside the new page -> Just hit space then write something like (give me a daily journal prompt). Each new page you generate with your button will have the available template to select from. Here is a quick tutorial I just created. Maybe Carter can expand on that better ruclips.net/video/Yadmsfqo6_o/видео.html
The thing that aggravates me about the Button feature is that ..on a phone at least .. a message pops up every time you tap a button that says something about the process ran successfully or executed successfully. Something along those lines. I know what it means but not the people who visit my page. Why don't they just have a message pop up is there's an error? I
@ProductiveDude i have a publicly published page that has a button. Whener anyone taps it on their phone, a message poppa up on screen that says "Button automation ran successfully." I don't see why they needed to include that. That's for me to know...no one else cares or even knows what it means.
Hey man, love your content and how you think about productivity on Notion. Do you have an email to potentially discuss some paid freelance work for helping me automate my Notion Business and 2nd brain workspaces? Let me know and I can drop you an email. Thanks and keep up the great work/content
Hello, I am new to notion and wanted to purchase this specific type notion template for my homeschool planning; however, the author has temporarily stopped selling her template and I have been trying to figure out she created a button to then trigger a gallery view to appear on another column within the same notion page so that I could just try to put into my own planner. I was wondering if you would be able to send me steps to do this. If you have a video that shows something similar would you send me your link to show me; here is the link to the youtube video of the author showing viewers how to add courses to her student file page. ruclips.net/video/mlY-3RszUb8/видео.htmlsi=pFyYTYcFyQneTHdx

No it’s not possible to use a button to search something yet.
Just play with it, these are meant to be examples. Get creative.

You could add a confirmation step if you want that just explains what they are doing so they can click continue.

How do get to hit enter above your database? I try, and it will not let me do that 😮
You are probably in a full page DB.
Try inline if you want to add above or below it.
@@ProductiveDude is there a way to get two pages displayed along side so I can recreate my Task database into an inline DB?
