Yay! Your boss did a great job of moving the big loader! She's one of the bravest deer in a headlight I've ever seen. We hope to see a little more of her.
Always a treat when your wife shows up. You’re so good at advising her how to drive that loader. A lot of guys talk down to their wives or lose patience and get them all upset but you two work good together. She’s a keeper. 😊

1957 was a Great Year! I'm 65, and so is that Autocar! (I don't have near that much rust going on, but have just as many broken parts). Love the video and the series and the channel.!
Honestly I just wanted to say I’ve learned a lot from you! You don’t get frustrated or upset when things take a long time, you are patient and calm.... and funny as hell! Haha. Every now and then you throw in a joke and I always laugh. Keep it up man. Great work.
Hey Matt, you should take your wife to Hawaii! I'm from the UK and have been there twice! Unfortunately, I couldn't take my wife as I was there for work. However, I can assure you she would love It!
With that gear that is rockin' and rollin' and shiftin' sideways on its shaft -- you are very correct. That will need to be pulled down, cleaned, and reassembled with a host of new bearings. Check all those gears intensely, both their outsides as well as where the shafts run. Check end-play tolerances and fit with new spacers as necessary. Much better to spend an extra hour in checking before you reassemble only to miss something and have to repeat the entire workload to find what you may have missed. The very first engine I stripped bigger than a 2 stroke lawnmower was on my first car -- a 1954 Rover 75 straight 6, and its 4 speed manual gearbox with "freewheel". Yes, I examined all the gears and bearing surfaces very, very carefully and replaced those which had damage - and all the bearings, and checked and adjusted end-plays. The engine was a very major job and some parts had to be rebuilt by a professional - lobes had new metal added and reground, etc. A most interesting task and one which was totally successful. Everything ran like a dream afterwards. I have never had mechanical training, but have quite successfully overhauled several engines and gearboxes -- with the assistance of the "Haynes" workshop manuals.
I truly enjoyed your wife helping you in the video. Whether she intended or not, she added some chuckles to the action! She needs to have her own coveralls. Excellent!
It was cool to see you include the your Wifey-Poo on this project. You two work great together as a team! I cannot wait to see the update to this AutoCar Transmission project! Well done, Matt!
When you said you might have to cut the cab bolts my inner voice screamed, "CAN'T BE TOO TIGHT OR STUCK IF IT'S LIQUID!". That saying has become my new battle cry when working on something mechanical.
I grin and say that a lot in my mind, yet there are places that are to tight or even dangerous to be using an open flame. No point in winning the battle by flame if it means losing the war (ruining the part or equipment you are trying to save).
My older brother used to fix diesels; Diamond Reo, Mack, Freightliner, etc, when I was a kid. Then he went off to Vietnam. So elated when he returned.Your wife operates pretty well on that big loader!"

From one woman to another, you did fantastic! You were fearless from the beginning! You listened and learned. You are one strong woman, you go girl! I grew up on a farm and drove a truck, tractor you name it. Rebuilt my first car etc... As a mom my daughter wanted to do robotics. I had to run the robotics group when the men mentors couldn't do it anymore and the moms of all the kids came back in the shop. I was astounded how almost all the women were afraid to do anything or just didn't know how to use basic hand tools and no shop tools! Most had never been shown or were made fun of the one or two times they tried by the men in their lives! I heard all the stories it was unbelievable. You are very fortunate to have someone willing to help you. You two did good together. Most women didn't grow up doing these type of things and don't know anything about this machinery or that it costs tens of thousands if not hundreds of thousands of dollars especially new. I love seeing the process of bringing these old machines back to life and the power they have. You have a very nice channel.

I'm running a more than full time business, my wife has a more than full time job, we have kids, mortgages, chores, etc just like everyone else. Typically, the one video I get out each week is at least 20 hours of work on top of doing the actual work that you see in the video. Two videos would be like having a second full time job plus all the time I spend on comments, emails, merch, etc related to the channel.
Gday Wes ,,
Appreciate your busy with your end ,,
I told Matt he should try hook up with you on this one ,,would be a MEGA vid for both you guys ,,
Just a thought ..

Hello Wes, just on my way over to your place to see what you have going on.
With his training she will become an asset to rely on in the future,as well as helping in a pinch where you need a second set of hands. She really will trust you to do things safely.
Matt, I laughed so hard this morning. She's a RIOT! Please tell her that I'm a fan. Maybe put her in Christine when she's running again? Stay safe & keep her happy.
Matt I love when you have you wife do stuff. She's hilarious. Cool thing about it is it doesn't look like you have to urge her to drive stuff. She looks like she is super willing to do it. You have a super cool chick. But nothing....and I mean nothing, has topped the "You are taking all my strength" bit yet while pulling that bed on your ranger. Thanks dude!!!
Old Ford F800 Crain Truck Is Cool Matt 😎 15:31 @Diesel Creek
"There's a bullet hole!" "It stinks in here!" "Your other left!" Reminds me of teaching my sister and wife how to drive four and five-speed manual transmission cars for the first time. And, yes, I do have the patience of a saint (sometimes). They both became very good drivers and never burned a clutch.
I hope they are not the same person!
She's a freakin trooper. You're lucky to have her. She should be more involved in your channel,
@Eric Erickson then i think she said something in Italian that is...well...expressing her dislike 😄
I second that notion
There is not too many wives that are help their husbands do stuff like this you're lucky man but your wife helps you every once in awhile that's awesome
The driveway looks excellent!
Your misses is priceless and very brave!
My wife would flat out refuse to drive a loader!
Massive Respect from New Zealand.
I/m sure your wife helps more than shown. It's allways good to see her helping
Yay! Your boss did a great job of moving the big loader! She's one of the bravest deer in a headlight I've ever seen.
We hope to see a little more of her.
I love the rotating intros every video, and now we have one with the Autocar. 👍🏻
Good to see your wife at least wanted to try stuff she did pretty good for the first time.
Cool old 1957 Autocar DC75 Truck Don't see these much anymore These days Matt @Diesel Creek
Your wife looks like she's a lot of fun.
Lucky you Matt.
The best background tracks on youtube. They turn into a real jam session for me. I practice my lead licks over them.
OMG, Your wife was precious! What a trooper!
Your wife is a hoot. The quotable lines kept coming. "Why can't you buy NICE things, Matt?". "It stinks in here! Is that a BULLET HOLE??" :)
“The other left”, lol! I think she did better than most women. Enjoyed the video.
I'm not sure I'd be that good.
Did better than most women, and let's be honest most men lol
Yeah she got gumption yo get behind rig
She did better than most men!
I don't know what blew my mind more, the water in the trans, or the fact that ALL FOUR of the cab bolts came right out!
Eva proved her worth at the church clean out. This is an encore performance. We viewers appreciate her hard work.
Always a treat when your wife shows up. You’re so good at advising her how to drive that loader. A lot of guys talk down to their wives or lose patience and get them all upset but you two work good together. She’s a keeper. 😊
Wouldn’t dare talk down to my wife. She’s been running a successful restaurant for several years.she’s smart and well educated. Now that I’m completely retired and disabled, l depend on her and my son to run the business and she does a better job of that than many people could.
1957 was a Great Year! I'm 65, and so is that Autocar! (I don't have near that much rust going on, but have just as many broken parts). Love the video and the series and the channel.!
Idk mam your old lady is a funny chick and hopefully we'll keep seeing her on here. Love that old FERD you've got.
Honestly I just wanted to say I’ve learned a lot from you! You don’t get frustrated or upset when things take a long time, you are patient and calm.... and funny as hell! Haha. Every now and then you throw in a joke and I always laugh. Keep it up man. Great work.
At least when the cameras rolling haha
Hey Matt, you should take your wife to Hawaii! I'm from the UK and have been there twice! Unfortunately, I couldn't take my wife as I was there for work. However, I can assure you she would love It!
Matt is really pushing out the content lately!Hope this channel keeps growing and growing
We need more videos of you and your wife she is funny.. it's like driving a car but I'm not good at driving 🤣😂😅
I’m not lol especially big heavy equipment! I’ll keep working on it
You've got a good woman there....she's a keeper. Keep her safe buddy!
That's some professional serpentine driving. :)
Watching that machine wiggle down the driveway 😄
"It smells in here "! 😂 Love it. Were you expecting fresh baked cookie smell ?
But she jumps right in and gives a hand.
Shes a trooper.
We’re going to get the crane truck. She says, “What’s this we bullcrap?”
Isn't she the best!
My outfit choice was on point 👌🏼😂
You need fluorescent yellow high-viz safety leggings!
Love the curls
He even made sure to include you carrying that wheel chock in the video😂😂
I truly enjoyed your wife helping you in the video. Whether she intended or not, she added some chuckles to the action!
She needs to have her own coveralls. Excellent!
Enjoye d that. Your wife’s face was priceless when you got her into that loader 😂
I so agree. My wife would have punched me
She’s the nicest thing you got. Very willing to learn. Good swampin too
It was cool to see you include the your Wifey-Poo on this project. You two work great together as a team!
I cannot wait to see the update to this AutoCar Transmission project!
Well done, Matt!
You smile at success is like a kid at Christmas! And you wife is PRICELESS!!! More of her please!!!
I'm laughing at her steering the loader all over the place while remembering me driving one of those for the first time. Pretty much the same result except no one recorded mine!
What a neat Comments...so true...women with hobbies and a "*HEY I CAN DO THAT '*it makes a beautiful woman .so much fun interesting to be with....You had a fun family. My family was the same ,a back yard machine shop ,,,,foundry....etc
I was impressed with how the Missus jumled right in the cab and stuck with it. But when she grabbed the blocks and chocked the wheels, Really impressed!
It’s great seeing you work with your wife. And good for her for driving the loader the first time while being recorded.
Cool to see the crane and loader being used after seeing their revival videos. Great stuff! Transmission is gonna be mostly ok.
Nice to see your wife giving you a helping hand. She is scared to do it , but jumps right in and tries. I remember my first time driving a loader. Takes a bit to get use to pivoting in the middle. She did Great! Kudos to her!
I think how you manage to work mostly solo is very inventive. Loving the old truck 👍
i really love that the matt hast mat written on it... because it is matt´s mat. and it works at least as good as matt
