@sauce85, yeppers, I hope they do the Alpha run! I still think they could’ve added some muscle in the torso, arms and thighs, which are present in SF Ultra II. He is a little small to me, especially in those areas.🫡🤙🍻
I think I'll go for Jada M. Bison the only downside for me with him is the 2nd head it's rough and I don't like it, but for everybody who says diaphragm joints are no good? That diaphragm cut that Jada did for M. Bison is a good example why they can be wonderful, if you give them the right engineering they work wonderfully! Good range forward and back side to side plus the waist twist anything you really want to do like example Chun Li they nailed it perfect and it looks way better than an Ab crunch you don't have any harsh lines like Sota did I don't like it
Yeah, I really like the Jada M. Bison. The updates to articulation function well and are an improvement overall for sure. Anytime you can eliminate ugly articulation lines without compromising articulation is a big win. Yeah, there are still minor tweaks they can make here and there, like with some of their heads, I remember not like some things about the Ken and ryu heads, but overall Jada is certainly going in the right direction for sure. 🫡🤙🍻
Little behind the scenes on the cape: Juhn specially asked Capcom if he could make this cape because of how much he loves Alpha M Bison (Super/Ultra Street Fighter 2 Bison's cape doesn't have the buttons) they said yes as we know, thankfully
@sprocketman, oh okay, good to know! Thanks for letting me know. Would’ve never known that. I don’t watch his interviews because I don’t want it to taint my “reviews.” Yeah, Alpha M. Bison is such an awesome design. I’m glad they let him add that minor detail because it turned out great!
Yes, you may not care about the source material, but this proportion is still accurate to the SF/SF2 game. If this was supposed to be the Alpha M Bison, then it is too skinny. Hopefully Jada will make the Alpha characters in the future.
@sigerlion, I see where you’re coming from. As for proportion, I still think he’s too small. In Ultra he’s got more muscle coming through in the upper torso. The pants/legs could’ve also been a little wider. He could also be a little taller. In game you mostly see him crouching down so he looks closer in stature to the other smaller characters, but as you know, or at least how I think of it, Bison is both wider and taller. That’s what I meant by too small. I like SOTA’s approach to bringing his stature to life. JADA can get away with the way they made him, but I still think he’s small even among their own figures. I’m with you, I hope they get through the list faster and then move onto Alpha or 6. 🫡👊🤙🍻
@@sacrificedplastic Bison's height is listed at 6'2 standing straight, and 5'11 in his crouched fighting pose. So I'm not mad that he's not tall at all. His weight is much greater though. 212 in SF2 and 247 lbs in Alpha, so that's why he looked huged and jacked compared to the 150 lbs young Ryu or the 187 lbs old Ryu.
Gotcha! Yeah, I completely see where you’re coming from. Visually, he may appear and measure up closer to what’s on screen for Ultra. But for me, there are certain elements about his proportion that do not pass my eye test for Bison, even for Ultra. Either way, it’s good, but it could be better proportionally for me.
I'm somewhat biased towards the SOTA series, as I'd spent a lot of time and money on finishing my collection over the years (especially Dhalsim).. I'm finally going to retire my custom Dee Jay, as it appears Jada have absolutely nailed it and I've been contemplating selling my SOTA lot and starting again with Jada.. I'd definitely want to keep my SOTA Bison, mostly because that smiling head sculpt is just so menacing!
@Cheese, Yes, same. I’m biased toward a lot of SOTA figures. I still don’t see a lot of the great things they accomplished with their line in lines today at the same price point. Yeah, the smiling head looks great. That’s a very tough decision to make. It may be hard to get them all again, especially new or ones in good condition. DJ is looking promising though. 🫡👊🤙
@Ty, The thing I see about Jada, Toy Biz and SOTA is consistency. With each figure they’ve consistently given you a well rounded figure. They threw a lot into their figures and what they came with. You don’t get consistency with Hasbro ML.
@Rutanggang, Thank you!!! I really appreciate it! 🙏🫡👊 Yeah, I don’t blame you. The SOTA Bison holds up really well and there’s things about it that are better. The variants are also super cool too. It’s just a great all around classic figure. Interesting. That’s awesome. Let me know if you have the pictures up somewhere. Now that you mention it, I guess the heads are a little small but they’re still dope.
I’m not sure about that. There are certain things that SOTA excuted better with Bison and which JADA could incorporate. Visually I still believe it’s a matter of style preference because the SOTA figure still holds up even when it’s being measured against a figure that is approximately 20 years older.
Yes, they’re better in many ways, but not in every way, and there are things they can be doing better. This is what I’m hopefully showing in my videos. 😉🫡🤙🍻
@@sacrificedplastic You know, I dont really have a "favorite" line per say. Part of the reason is that everytime I thought a company was the definitive one to make certain figures or a certain line, theyve let me down MAJORLY on something I greatly anticipated & on QC issues at some point. To a degree where I considered NEVER buying that line or anything from them ever again. Right now tho I think Jada is doing an amazingly exceptional job with their Street Fighter line. Not just with quality & articulation but with their effort to be accurate to the lore of the characters in their designs. They design & scale the figures according to the way the look in game & according to the stats given in said game. They dont use a "one size fits all" type of design, having the characters scale incorrectly to each other... So like I said, I dont have a favorite line not only for the reasons I previously mentioned but because my favorite characters are made by different companies, & so many lines are done by different companies at the same time. Once I start to put too much faith in a single company's line tho, they piss me off on something to the point of feeling betrayed. I probably have more hasbro figures than anything tho, simply because they possess so many licenses & they churn out so many figures so often...
Yeah, I’ll tell you that seeing the SOTA blisters on pegs was exciting. Today, I think Bison is still hard to find at retail but I’m sure they both present the same to those looking for them.
This comparison fascinates me because it's a similar evolution we've seen in almost all action figures over the last 20 years: softer sculpts, less paint, better articulation (but not always well-utilized) Not gonna lie, there's aspects of how action figures were done 20 years ago I wish we could see more of outside of Storm Collectibles & NECA: even import figures don't hit the same for me like they did 14 years ago...
@Sprocketman, well said. Softer sculpts, less paint, and better articulation (still not a fan of the thigh cut). Agreed. I hold back on some of the comparisons I do with old and new figures because I do not want to sound like a “hater” or like I’m being hyper critical, but man, some of the detail, sculpt and paint on older figures is just better than what we’re getting today. NECA still carries it on a lot of their figures but they haven’t really sorted smooth articulation without too much paint rub/loss. I like a lot of my older figures because you just got your dollars’ worth, not just with the figure, but accessories and sometimes small dios. When reviewers praise a lot of these minimal effort figures that are remakes of something that came before I just shake my head. And Storm is just awesome.
