TECH TALKS
Welcome to EBC Brakes' 'Tech Talks' series, where we look at each of our friction materials in more detail.
Watch as R&D Manager, Steve Payne, talks us through the technical details of our product lines, whilst addressing common myths and queries in the process.
GREENSTUFF
This time, it's the turn of EBC's Greenstuff pad to be put under the spotlight. Greenstuff (EBC's green pad) is a road-legal upgrade pad that offers slightly more bite than OE pads. Ideal for drivers who want to feel that little bit of extra performance on the brake pedal, whilst retaining all road-friendly usability.

Great timing purchased full green stuff pads for my Toyota Yaris T Sport, only got the front ones on atm due to an issue with my car but I’m looking forward to future use :)
Great pads, just installed my second set after 50,000 miles on the first. In my experience, Greenstuff is producing some noise in the first 1000 miles, then it disappears. These are better biting pads than the OEMs, but very dusty. Don't even say "low dust", they are covering your wheels in dust, but for me that's not a problem, the confidence when braking outweighs the dust issue by far.
Hi, thankyou for your feedback. It's great to hear that you are enjoying the product 😀.
If you ever want to get in touch please feel free to contact technical@ebcbrakesuk.com Have a great evening 👍
I have had great sucess with the ndx and orange on my BMWs, cant wait to test them and rp1 on my 944 turbo (996tt brakes)
I'm getting these for my es300 to drive on Hwy 74 in Palm Desert California
Just purchased a set for my 166WHP Miata. Hopefully it'll work well for street and the tail of the dragon at the most
How did it turn out? Want to buy some for mine too, but with slightly less hp. Was it worth it?
@@johanneshe.45 Perfect setup for street use
@@jv6miata Thanks! What about a more sporty use? Like some Backroads or even track. Do you have some experience with that?
@@johanneshe.45 Nothing much, it's a weekend driver so I've really only done low speed back roads
can anyone tell me what the silver prong thing is on the back pleasE? thanks
Hi, not all pads come with these clips, they are basically springs to hold the pad in the piston :)
I just purchased red stuff for my BMW 550i GT based off the website pad selector (me not knowing the weight). Now when i put in correct weight it recommends green stuff.. is this ok, is it going to be a noticeable difference or did i just screw the pooch?
Hi, if you could email all of this information over to - technical@ebcbrakesuk.com - one of our advisors will be able to help you with selecting the correct part numbers for your application. Have a great day.
@@EBCBrakesUK will do
And my van squeals because you have no stock!
Hi David, what are the part numbers are you struggling to get hold of? We are sorry about your frustration and would love to try and help.
@@EBCBrakesUK Hi, it's usr 1330 and the greenstuff pads.
And I was pulling your leg 😂
@@EBCBrakesUK not about the stock.
@@onemanhisdub1969 So I've just looked and it looks like we should be able to turn around some USR1330 for you relatively quickly. If you could pop an email over to with the details of what you have been trying to get hold of and you will get a response early next week. We will do our best to get this all sorted for you. All the best.
@@EBCBrakesUK Thanks. I have tried at least 10 suppliers and they all say at least a month.
bamboo69@icloud.com is my email.
Regards David.
Hmmm. I did 50 or so mile reasonably fast paced driving through some quiet B roads. Mk7 Fiesta ST ( Stock). Pads had gone by the time I was back on the motorway. Thought that can't be right so went out again a week or so later. Same result. EBC disks were installed at time of the pads. Full bedding procedure followed. Utterly pointless pad from my experience. Won't be buying again. The fade was just awful. Rubbish brake pad.
Now Redstuff. That's a pad I am a fan of. Been through a few sets on my two other cars ( both heavier with a lot more power) WHY are they not available for the ST for fast road driving?
Hi, we are sorry to hear about this. Please get in touch with us directly and we will try and rectify any issues you may have or have had in the past the email address is We would always recommend our Yellowstuff pads for the Fiesta ST for road use. Have a great evening 👍
@@EBCBrakesUK Thanks for a very prompt reply. I guess I've just gone beyond the pads capabilities.... Fair enough. Yellows are an option but my ST is my go to work car, hence rarely taken out and 'pushed'. I use an Evo 6 for that with a very different colour of EBC pad. I do however reiterate my first question. Why no Reds in this size? Cold bite is more than acceptable and they can take some heat. My Audi S3 proves that! (The Evo has used them to! albeit I think the reds were at their limit for that car to) The low dust is also a very real win. Please! Very interested to hear your thoughts. Ta.
This has got to be a fake review, how can 50miles wear a brand new brake pad?
@@CommonG Not 'wear'. Brake FADE. Read the Fu%$^g post....
@@chuck8058 woah chuck chill whats a brake fade
