I am to be confused... Are we just talking about recent novels else also about very old legends ?

It could be both, George is good at having stories repeat or echo each other from the lore to current times in the book.

I did not try yet to read the novels @chaosangel123 , but when watching the serie, I noticed a lot of old legends and may be some truthes from the past...
What I can't figure out is if "Jenny of old stones" was existing before GøT ? I would be pleased if some have any answer.
(I may be particularly interested in all old stones and legends related to them)

She existed before AGOT story. Jenny claimed decent from a First Man house and was wife of Prince Duncan Targaryen. He would be forced to give up his inheritance after marrying her. They would both die at the incident of Summerhall.
I could give more info but then this quickly becomes a novel 😅
