that's gorgeous! In my opinions though, it lacks the relative crudeness of the original, which contributed to its appeal! Or perhaps too many years have passed from the days when we played the game on our beloved Spectrum
This remake is stunning! Ive been looking at these Next conversions of old games and I remember this one fondly... Music and detail looks great. Tempting to look at Speccy Next!
@@darrenwells2277 yeah! Do it. Can be expensive at the moment because they were Kickstarter only, but there are some options. N-Go, xberry are clone boards. Also you have cspect for emulation on pc.
100 percent agree! As I have said I wasn't a massive fan of the original but I recognise that it was a great game for people. This next version really shows off some of the computers new features regarding graphics, colour and sound. And to release such quality for free is remarkable. Awesome stuff 9bitcolour. Thanks for your positive comments by the way.
This remake got me into finally picking up Atic Atac seriously. So yeah, I'm a fan of this remake! One of the better additions to the Next library at this point, in my humble opinion.
Link should be in the description. You will need a Next, Ngo or xberry. Should also work on the emulator Cspect. The guide is on this channel and also on my other channel Bapstarcade.

Yeah, looked that way. There's a few guardians like that. Not sure if it's down to what character you choose or whether you need to be holding a certain object. Only had a quick blast to video.
I love the original and still play it. This version has too much different colors at once and they clash before the eyes. The indicators, like the live-level-meter, are too small. The chicken was a huge and important element of the gameplay because you always had to watch its status, as you had to think carefully about what food you eat or leave for a return. This strategic element should be focused again. Those old games where about time to finish them and the highscore. This game needs a timer and a big score-counter. All those points leads me to the conclusion that this remake missed the point and doesn´t transport the game´s spirit and the pioneering time it was made. Nevertheless, the music and the sound is great. 🎉

OMG this looks great. Let's hope 9bitcolor do something with their own IP next so that we can pay them/reward them financially for their effort!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👌
Nice stuff. Someone should port a Binding of Isaac clone on the Next.
ONCE, I had the key and was just about to escape, then I died.

That looks absolutely amazing I cannot wait to get a copy
Looks fantastic, just the floor colours would give me a migraine! 👍
Looks very good!
It’s more zoomed in than the original and it’s substantially slower too.
You should switch to 60hz mode (press NMI and 3, I think).
beatiful, but too slow... Maybe if I play at 60Hz...? :D
60hz is recommended by the author.
Looks like amiga game
This looks amazing. Can someone tell me where I can play this?

I miss the scoring values like the original
The final score is displayed if you manage to escape.
@@9bitcolor It's not exactly the same, but the game it's an awesome upgrade to the original one. I want to test it in my N-GO

So the mummy can’t be hit with a hatchet or is there a problem with the collision detection.

Mummy can be distracted with a red leaf.
You cannot kill the monsters with your weapon, following the mechanics of the original.
Thanks for confirming @9bitcolor
will it work on fuze emulator
Fuze is for emulating old spectrums. Have a look at Cspect. There's a guide on the channel. Also on Bapstarcade.
@whatsnext128 ok , thanks,will look into it

...No one is going to take the original away from us.@@nichttuntun3364
@@whatsnext128 No, of course not. That´s a good way to approach it. But constructive critics should still be allowed. :)
💯 percent they should, games , music, films, all subjective.
No 😔
Why no?
@@whatsnext128the wasted opportunity. The original sounds clash awfully with the pretty new graphics. These sounds need some creative polish ❤
I love it that C64 owners are all so salty that their machine died on it's a$$ and didn't get a modern update.

Yeah, not a fan. Don't like the characters either
Looks awful...
Why is that then?
@@whatsnext128looks like a Windows 95 port. The character art does not fit with the backgrounds and the whole thing has a clip art feel to it...
The art looks like puke. The "music" better not comment.
Fair comment I guess, just remember this is a game for a new computer not a pc or mac, and it's free.
@@whatsnext128 I remember getting the original at age eight and this does not compare...
