HR 480 SC - 8 Days On Dalslands Kanal, Hilleberg Allak, Upperud - Östervallskog - Dals Ed

- Med liten motorbåt på Dalslands Kanal, en underbar husbilsresa kombinerat med båt.
I got the "crazy" idea to take Bibbi and our Vorsteh (GSP, German Shorthaired Pointer) Ezza on a camping trip with the small motorboat that we trailer behind our Adria Twin Van. We trailered the boat to Upperud Ställplats and Gästhamn, where we could launch the boat and store the van för 40 SEK per day. We did like 114 Nautical Miles on this trip and more than 20 locks (slussar) in the canal system. Favourites was Håverud, Dals Långed, Gustavsfors, Lennartsfors, Töcksfors, Östervallskog and Nössemark where we also celebrated Midsummer (Summer Solstice).
Our end harbour was Dals Ed, where a took the bus back to Upperud to pick the van and trailer to drive back to Dals Ed, to pick up Bibbi, Ezza and the boat.

Hej, rekommenderar definitivt att göra Dalslandskanal. Hade ingen erfarenhet av att göra en 8-9 dagars tur med liten båt, men det blev succé. Jag tror att just Dalslands och även Säffle kanal gör sig särskilt bra med sin natur på det hör viset. Givetvis hade jag gärna gjort det med en båt att bo på, men detta var smidigt. Lycka till, bara att höra av dig om det är något du undrar.
Vilken fantastik resa, har åkt Dalslands kanal med båten men var aldrig så långt upp som ni var.
Det var en fin resa och kul att göra på detta sättet. Inte så glampigt båtmässigt, men på det hela taget att släpa med sig båten och utöka möjligheterna är liiite glampigt 😁🙌 Ha det gott!
Beautiful trip. A total different perspective from the water. A different lifestyle. Interesting locks. Fun vid Mattias. Do some more. I have a pan cleaner as well. Glad you did it before the floods.
Thanks! We had the best weather we could get apparently this summer for this adventure, Bibbi was doubtful since this was her only summer vacation days, but 1,5 day in to the journey she just turned over to really appreciate this and still says it was wonderful. You are right about this beeing a totally different way of experience Dalsland a county next to us and is seen on many of my ADV videos, from the gravel road view 😁. The rest of the summer has rained away in west Sweden. I took off with the dog on a solo adventure with the van after this, far north and above the arctic circle, with this i got really great weather compared. My solo trip will be some episodes the next weeks. Not just a journey with experiences, an inside journey as well for me.

Efter en lång sommar har vi börjat titta ikapp på kanaler vi följer. Wow vilket äventyr! Dalsland verkar riktigt najs! Tack för att du tog dig tid att visa och dela med dig av kanalen! Ps: såg många tyska plåtisar med båttrailer i Kroatien i juni. Så de verkar inte va helt ovanligt fenomen 😃
Härligt! Har allt följt Er resa på IG, såg gott ut. När vi var där för 10 år sedan så såg vi samma fenomen. Fler gummibåtar med små utombordare då som de hade med sig på hudvagnsekipaget. Snar att det ökade antalet plåtisar har ändrat på det och större båtar är med. Vi hade det gott på denna turen, riktigt fint och minnesvärt.

Ezza är så find vovve, elegant och väldigt aktiv. Hon är med på allt vi gör, bästa hon vet. Från Vänersborg till Idaho. det låter som ett äventyr!

Thanks! Very mixed for some, but thats who i am! A new experience and we lined it. New tires for the "Mistress" are allready waiting at home. Can't wait to get them on and have fun! Happy Trails!
I have the same experience with some wild camping Germans 😂🙌🏻 Snore like they are sawing down big trees! 🙈 Really cool to see you out on the boat. I have grown up close to the sea and used to be in boats (big and small) this is really cool and a perfect "different" adventure not many people have the chance to do. We should do a rerun og the famous Götakanal Tjommi. We can dress Rob up as a marine (do you have the same navy uniform as us?) hahaha... damn that could have been great. Great adventure 🍻

Haha, on one of the lakes i found that there was a massive stim at 20m depth, that was during the bad weather. When we reached the harbor for night we got perch. Only captured at Instagram. Hint, if tiu look there You will see what I've done lately... 🎣👀🤠🔥
Having the dog means you don’t have to do any plate and saucepan washing! Great that you took her with you. They adapt to where ever you are, calling it home. Pity she is too big for the 890.
True! Bibbi googled up a rear rack for large dogs for me before the summer trip... I did not like share i saw 😂. A friend at work bought one though and took delivery before vacation. Made in US. New tures from AUS is waiting at home 😁💪 Cheers my friend!
