Numbskulls: Pumping East Coast Winter Storm Surf

- Winter Storm Orlena was an impressive nor'easter that dumped the northeast with snow and slammed the coast with a ton of swell. Nor'easters usually move fast and offer a quick window of pumping surf but the size of this storm and the perfect track it took blessed the east coast with multiple days of surf. We started our wave chase close to home and followed the swell up the coast as the storm moved across the Atlantic. Enjoy the highlights from this epic three day winter wave hunt with Rob Kelly and crew. Filmed and edited by Ryan Simalchik.

Ahhh the luxury of being an old man, this hasn't been appealing to participate in for a bunch of years A guy I use to surf with once in a while, won't mention his name, hated hoods, he would wear it to paddle out, then pull it down. One fall or sudden duck dive, and he would start puking LOL. . Love seeing you kids charging still, you are doing us proud.

Absolutely fantastic. Swells like these, even through the ice and snow I'd be out there at Montauk Point surfing. Sometimes with my buddy Thelo, more times than not, just the seals. Loved winter surfing, especially once the 7mil wetsuit came off along with lobster claw gloves and had and got dry and warm.

Being born and raised here in San Diego California and back in 1985 surfing against Charlie Kuhn on the Bud Tour & P.S.A.A. I've gotta say I never gave much respect for the East coast guys. Now.... I have nothing but Respect for the entire East coast guard. New & old 🤙🔱

I live at the beginning of the "Sure", this brings tears to my eyes. Shit is beyond top shelf. I'm 58 and I have only gotten out to the line twice since moving here in 2005, I gotta do this man. Maybe not even close as these bros but I gotta be surfing. I go every morning to check the surf at Sea Bright, the Hook and 7 Pres.

Definitely want another crack at it. I got lucky and skipped off the rock slab into the deep water. Torn wetsuit and sore elbow. Wouldn't want to fall on my head or knees that way.

Storms are storms, if the wind hits, the swell builds!!!! Love winter storms, we even get nice swell from those in Florida
