To answer the top question... Yes, it can power a 12" subwoofer. Any amplifier can. Up to the maximum power capacity of the amp. I don't need to watch a video or hook one up to figure that out.
Switching class D amplifiers are extremley efficient compared to ordinary linear operated class A/B designs and thus a very powerful amplifier can fit inside a small box without any need for cooling fins (wich takes up a lot of space in an ordinary AB amplifier). The reason for this is as long a transistor is either fully on or fully off it dissapates very little energy as heat since its full on resistance is so low. This is also why a very similar device the VFD used to speed control 3 phase motors also always operate in switching mode wich give a speed controlled motor its familiar high pitch whining sound. In an amplifier however this switching must be much faster (in order of MHz sompared to kHZ in a VFD) so that the switching noise will not be heard as part of the audio. This eliminates the need of complicaded noise filters before the speaker and the speaker coil simply evens the square wave switch signal out to an even sine wave.
Yeah, I once connected the internals of the jbl go to a 4 inch full range. It seemed to work fine, nothing seemed to be blowing up. Edit: this’ll usually work, because larger, more expensive drivers are designed to be of a higher quality and to have a higher and less resistive excursion. So, really, this will work with most combos, but in some cases the low resistance may create a too large current draw and might blow up the amp. Might want to be a bit careful with that.

It is true that it makes the speaker "vibrate" well, what you do not know is that the amplifier is clearly in Clipping, the clipping happens when you mount a loudspeaker with a high wattage to an amplifier with a low wattage. Obviously the amplifier will always give the maximum because the speaker is able to hold many more watts of those that from the amplifier and distorts the sound. I had the same problem with an old 5.1 of the creative, because I had mounted a 1300watt sony xplod subwoofer, yes, it moved a lot, but the sound was not of good quality like that of your video.
JBL winning again That's a good amp to play down to 10hz like that most of those boom box amps don't have that low frequency response they are subsonic filtered
by default JBL speakers also have a high pass or subsonic filter but you can disable it's DSP processing (which I did) and that allows the amp to output the full spectrum

Edgar Gutierrez wtf are u saying it’s fake for have u ever owned a jbl cus I’ve sure have and I’ve seen every fake one on eBay and how they preform and those speakers are amazing so idk why ppl comment stupid ass shit
@@edgargutierrez198 jbl charge 4 have one speaker dumbo. Ihave charge 4 and i know it
What songs did you play? (nice video btw🙂)
Just about any amplifier will work. However, whether it will sound good or clip /damage the sub speaker is another story.
You should of also tried it on low frequency mode...I bet that would've been more cool and crazy
it was in LFM, otherwise anything below like 45 hz would have been filtered out
Oh I see...well it's pretty awesome though...love it
It is true that it makes the speaker "vibrate" well, what you do not know is that the amplifier is clearly in Clipping, the clipping happens when you mount a loudspeaker with a high wattage to an amplifier with a low wattage.
Asking for an endurance test of that setup.. I'm curious about how long the batteries will last 😄
Now I want to try this on my aiomias go. Supposed to be 60w. It is a really good portable speaker for the price.
JBL winning again That's a good amp to play down to 10hz like that most of those boom box amps don't have that low frequency response they are subsonic filtered
by default JBL speakers also have a high pass or subsonic filter but you can disable it's DSP processing (which I did) and that allows the amp to output the full spectrum
the charge 4 has a 30 watts amp built into it. its sure that it can power a 30 watt kenwood sub
Infinite Gaming the 12 inch sub is more like 300 watt rms tho
30 watts vc and spider replacement
I’m still skeptical, he never played actual music while the sub was connected, only did a “10 hertz” test. Show us the connection while playing actually playing music.
I tryed with a jbl charge 3 and its worked well
i did this on my moped with a beats pill hooked 2 6/9s to it sounds great
If you use a crossover from the music player, more power would go into the sub frequencies because it would not be used to amplify higher freqencies.
I hope when i have a 5 speakers i will power those to my JBL Charge 3.
Dude I Love The Video that was impressive and thanks for the idea. When I can't get what I want to work I get very creative around The house👍👍
