Just found your channel, your reviews are so much better than anyone else’s. You show all the things I have questions about that no one else addresses.
I love the fact that one can get a center stand for this bike. So many people do not know about this. Great reviews Scott. You do a phenomenal job for sure. Very honest.
Hi, thanks for sharing your review, I enjoyed watching it. It's very interesting reading all the comments. I bought a 2017 KTM Superduke R. However, after test riding the Speed Triple RS, I had traded it in within 3 weeks. I loved my SDR, but for me personally at least, the Speed RS is a much better bike all round. I found the KTM to be flighty and lack feedback by comparison. In hindsight, I wonder if this may have been more to do with the M7 RR tyres (I hated them) and the suspension being too soft (forks in particular). My Speed RS is the most fun bike I have ever owned. I am so much faster and smoother on it than anything before it. Its a brilliant package! I have ridden the NC500 for 2 years running. In 2017 on my SDR, I returned home almost physically crippled, but this summer on my Speed RS, it was absolutely effortless and I had no physical complaints or aches at all. Its all down to personal opinion and preference, but for me, the Speed RS is a fantastic machine and it should not be overlooked. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing Davy! This is exactly why I welcomed the new Speed Triple RS into the Super Naked class with open arms. It really is a great bike and is very well done. Most will not put it into the super naked class because it is under powered but power is not everything and I think that is the point Triumph is trying to make. And they have made it and made it well.
Your reviews are amazing. I recently subscribed to this channel and since then I have been watching new and old reviews. Thumbs up , keep up the good work.
Sir you have done a phenomenal job. Kudos. Love it. I happen to own the speed triple RS as well and I added the Austin racing exhaust and man oh man what a wicked sound.
Thank you Mohammed, I really liked the Speed Triple, I think it is the best looking bike in the Super Naked class, especially the RS with all the carbon fiber. Great bike!
To answer your question whether the STRS should be in the super naked class, I would say “yes”. Sure, down on power compared to my bike (s1000r) BUT my test ride of the STRS suggests that other than a track it would be as much fun, with a far better soundtrack. STRS still on my short list for when I update my 17s1000r.
Props for riding these bikes within the speed limit, even if it's just for the videos. I could never do that....oh well, I'm still in my late 20's, probably in my 50's :)
Well, the rulebook that traditionally defined hypernakeds cannot be applied with the SPRS. The only inline three litre mill around keeping up with V twins and inline fours with as much ease, With the same tech and bling and for thousands less! The original street fighter is basically telling the new kids on the block that Hey, I was the first to grow some hair on my chest before you learned to write your own rulebook. The Speed triple says 'before technology arrived I was and ripped then just as much without it''. How then do you compare it with the hypernakeds? Thanks for the review Scott. You officially occupy the prized pride of place in the most sensible reviewers category. By the way, there's another bike that derived it's engine from this bike that I'd like for you to review if you're taking requests from us. The Tiger sport 1050. I'd really appreciate your thoughts on it especially when compared with this mill. Let me know if Burgdoff will be so kind. Thank you Scott.
I traded a Street Triple for this: first the S and then the RS. Everything about the Speed Triple I prefer: more planted on the road, better mid-range and a less flighty front end. Much depends on how you want to ride: for effortless speed and predictable handling this delivers.
Hi Kjetil, I've been on one of those before too and it's been about 20 years ago for me. But that is a heavy bike and if you can handle that weight, then this bike is no problem. But the 790 is a great bike too, like I said in the 790 video, it has the best non-adjustable suspension I've ever been on and I've been on one or two bikes over the years...hehe. :)
I have owned the speed triple R and now own the RS and I can say that there is no problem with these bikes over distance, I did not feel tired or sore as the seat is one of the most comptable around and the seating posision is great ( ok I am 5 Ft 7 and I am ok).
I have the exact same bike as in the video. I have done 500km in one sitting. Heated grips and cruise control make a difference. The seat is great and the bikini fairing seems to work for my height (174cm tall). Less wind noise when sitting just so without leaning too far forward.
The only problem with the speed triple isn't that it's competing with the Tuono or super Duke. It is the fact that the Street Triple exists. The street triple is a much better value and I would bet even faster at the limit. Their middleweight is such a world beating product that this suffers by comparison.
I still think to two bikes is very different. Maybe the Street Triple RS is faster around a track, but it still doesn't have the punch low down that the Speedy does. The Speed has more low down grunt, which makes it more fun at low speeds and more comfortable. The Street Triple is all about the power at higher revs and its agility. The Speed triple has a more calm ride characteristic. And last off all: I am to tall to look good on a Street Triple, but on a Speed it is a whole other story.
Oddjob6120 You are right! it is even faster around donigton than a KTm Super Duke R and the BMW S1000r, nearly as fast as a Yamaha R1. That is really impressive actually, for a 150 bhp naked bike. 😲
Oddjob6120 I whole heartadly agree with you my mate bought the new street RS just becouse he could not compete with my speed out of corners with it's higher torque and as for the MT10 proformance bikes magazine put the new speed RS up againsed the new MT10SP around Almeria in spain and the speed was 3 seconds a lap fasted thats a life time
Interesting name btw. Yea you might have a problem on longer rides with your size on this and any Super Naked bike except for the KTM 1290 Super Duke R or Yamaha MT-10. Those two have the most ergonomic room in the class of bikes that I'd put into the Super Naked bike category. (The other besides the 3 already mentioned above, BMW S1000R, Aprilia Tuono, Ducati Monster 1200). Or consider the BMW S1000 XR, that is a tall bike too. There are a lot of bikes for taller riders, especially if you go into the Adventure group. Good luck, Cheers, Scott

Yes, this bike is really beautiful! Some people say, that the big motor (the look) is not very modern, in times were the bikes gong to be smaller and smaller, including the motor. But exactly this is, what i absolutely like! These awesome big look with the chromic skrews! That's great - my opinion!I hope, that Triumph hold on to this bke-philosophie. It's a bike for man's and nevertheless perfekt and so smooth. I love it too! Säch mal, fährst Du da auf deutschen Strassen? Bist Du Deutscher oder Engländer ;o)

Brembo MCS span and ratio-adjustable brake lever with matching clutch lever. Yes, one changes the span, the other is what I was talking about. Thanks for watching, Scott
Well, I'm already nuts! So this thing just pushed me over the edge...now I see a shrink twice a week! LOL! Umm...yea you can be normal on this bike but it is constantly pushing you...at least is was for me.
@@NothingToProve I finally committed to a ST 2020 it’s a great bike - I think better all round naked for the road than the hyper naked bikes … I will struggle to use 148 HP

Centerstand is well worth it. I bought that instead of a swing arm stand. No front stand needed either, just a light duty jack under the headers.

Its simple. She is a beauty. And she moves like a beauty. I like her.
Nice review! Here in Pennsylvania- this bike, after fees costs $20k lol - guess ill wait that price down.
Great review! Which bike did you prefer between this and the Street Triple RS? That's the conundrum I'm in right now.
Oh, no question there, the Street RS is my favorite of the two. Save some money and go faster in a corner at the same time!
I traded a Street Triple for this: first the S and then the RS. Everything about the Speed Triple I prefer: more planted on the road, better mid-range and a less flighty front end. Much depends on how you want to ride: for effortless speed and predictable handling this delivers.

@Oddjob6120 I did exactly the same, had the speed for a month now and done 1300 miles just love it, the street was nice but just too buzzy for me.

They say the MT10 has got worse ground clearance of about 2 inchs which would afect it alot.
In 2023 … it still is!😉
What about taller guys? I'm 6'4 and I'm in love with this model. Not sure about my inseam, I'm guessing 34". Probably won't be as comfy I imagine...
