Yeah I replaced the exhaust when I had an 08. Headers to mufflers. It was kind of annoying to do. So I appreciate this video and your patience. Now I am back in the fold with an '16 R. Feels good. I am sure Triumph has made this process even more annoying.😂
That's cool hearing the no-cat without mufflers. Thanks. I took mufflers off my 2013 1050ABS and (with cats) it sounded more like racy mufflers to me than expected.
I'm working on sourcing some minimally sized mufflers to fit onto the stock midpipes, mostly because no mufflers at all will attract negative attention visually ha. Red and blue lights
this was awesome. to answer your oil drain plug washer is we are doing a survey, I do not replace but i do clean it and sand both sides with the finest grit paper in a figure 8 pattern to get a nice surface

I worked at a Kawasaki dealer parts counter, and the oil drain plug crush washer was pushed hard to increase "line items per ticket" which helped sales. That said, I always buy a bag of 50 copper washers off Amazon for every bike I get, and I usually have a bike for less than 10 oil changes!

I found a used CRM (chain reaction moto) set of silencers and mid pipe for my late 07. It is legit my favorite sounding inline engine ever. It sounds absolutely mean. Friends all say it sounds sick when we're on the road.

Ive mostly dropped the wheelie stuff though, tried hanging out with some local stunters and those dudes take their shit hella seriously and I'm just, not about that. Still fun to clutch up my little cb from time to time. Main reason I tried to learn was so I could manage the occasional power wheelie without getting scared.
I’ve used those crush washers until they got as thin as tin foil. They get real wide too. I always use a torque wrench at 14 lb/ft regardless of what the manufacturer specs. No leaks.
Agreed about the torque spec not feeling tight enough. But I torqued my oil plug after bottoming it over a curb. There was a slight seep that was taken care of by torquing it to spec. Whew. The impact was a glance off that bottom fore of the plug and the plug itself.

nice socks buddy XD, if you want a few pops and bangs check if your bike has a small idle control valve. my 250 has a black plastic knob next to the tank that controls the idle. it's fun in winter to turn it up abit. Downside is my oil and sparky changes needs to be done sooner from running rich.

Looks / sounds much better . You can give your Exhaust Copper Washers a little more Life by Annealing them . Clean them , hang on a Wire and hit them with your Propane Torch until you see the Colours run , tnem , leave them to cool , or dunk them in cold Water .

YESSSS! finally new loud exhausts! Got myself the same brand for my vfr800 vtec, sounds monstrous even with the baffles! definetely the best purchase i ever made for my bike. my mechanic told me that delkevic puts the baffles that way so that the exhaust hole looks big
@5:36 - you want the heat shield there. I took mine off to make it "satin" ( not shiny) I forgot to put in on and went on a long ride- my leather boots were feeling the heat.. not comfortable!

So it's funny because when my dad stayed outside to hear it, he swore it sounded the same as stock when at idle and given low revs. If anything, it sounds more rich, not terribly loud so I would say in comparison to stock, maybe a 5 averaged out across the rev range compared to stock. It's tasteful basically. Even more so if you keep your cat.

RacerTV's own 'My CX650 Cafe-Racer' with Peashooter Exhausts sounds amazing too, ..both your 1050 and his CX-CR have that 60s Ferrari* 6 cylinder sound now ! *or insert other classic highly tuned sports car brand.

I always change my washers. much rather a 50c washer than the paranoia of an oil leak. Also, why delete the cat at all? I never understood the desire to do that, especially considering that the bike is mapped for that backpressure and you would have to flash to get (anywhere near) a good map in the ECU for the changed flow characteristics. OEMs spend a long time on the dyno dialing in a good map, any aftermarket one is never going to be anywhere near as good. /endrant
That's fair regarding the washer. Regarding the cat, that's easy. More exhaust flow, it's the reason why when you get a race exhaust there is no cat to be seen. The arrow catless mid pipe would be the best option but it's unavailable. Deleting it to help the bike breathe is the next best option. Fortunately these triumphs are easy to remap with tuneboy or tuneecu for any modifications that you do. There are pre made maps selectable to match the specific bike. I have to disagree about being unable to dial the bike back in. The results are out there and proven.

Fluid flows are extremely complex, less restriction in the exhaust is not always a good thing without holding other things constant. For example, by deleting the cat you have removed a reflecting surface that causes pressure waves to bounce back upstream, this has consequences for gas exchange especially during valve overlap. While at certain RPM and load conditions this might give you better performance (more max HP), the low end torque/part throttle operation are probably severely compromised. Also without an engine dyno and instrumentation to verify, you have no idea about in cylinder temperatures/pressures/knock... not ideal for reliability/longevity. There really is no replacement for a factory exhaust or a factory developed race exhaust/map package. Most aftermarket exhausts and tunes are half baked at best and dangerous at worst.
I replace the oil drain plug washer after about 10 /15 times using it. Just watch how bad your torque it down and them damn things actually lasts forever. I just do out of paranoia.

Always change the washer notice the build up around plug and on your finger ( Mercedes tech )

There really is no replacement for a factory exhaust or a factory developed race exhaust/map package. Most aftermarket exhausts and tunes are half baked at best and dangerous at worst.

I replace the oil drain plug washer after about 10 /15 times using it. Just watch how bad your torque it down and them damn things actually lasts forever. I just do out of paranoia.
