  • This video shows you how to make your own Hot-Tub-O-Matic descaler!
    Easy build, you just need a few bits listed below and you can descale and remove limescale build up from your Lay-Z-Spa or Bestway hottub pump to keep it working well.
    It also works well to flush water through at the end of the season and to generally make sure it's working well.
    Parts needed:
    7 Litre bucket amzn.to/2YKdci9
    21.5mm Overflow tank connector fitting amzn.to/3iefjT6

      Andy, I have a set up I bought from easytubs.co., the Blaster. I cant get the eo2 to stop, water will not start the flow action. What is stopping it? Not enough water? weak impelar, it sounds "ok". Was thinking maybe water sensor? Could I pull the mag out and have free flow? Im on my 3rd tub in 5 years. lots of spare parts now. You and two other on ytube are really educating all of us who are not really good at such things. Thanks for helping with teardown vids zs well. Im in the US and NOBODY here has part or know how.. thanks .

      It'll need a good clean, chances are it's clogged the flow sensor or the impeller itself. Follow the guide and strip down the pump and check it all out, should be solved relatively easily. Fit new seals too just to be sure

    • @JanosTech
      @JanosTech 3 года назад +2

      With E02 make sure that the connections are not leaking once you have the pump attached to the hot tub. Mine was leaking-just a tiny bit around the fitting, it was enough to constantly get E02 whenever my filter was a bit dirty. Also helps if you wash the filter in your dishwasher. After carefully re assembling the pump with the hot tub (no leaks anymore) I have not had one single E02

I'am getting the E02 code i will try finding the fittings you used to build your descale remover, or its the water flow valve. That no one seems to have. I'am in the U.S. so it looks like 1" pipe to me! I say i have ever seen a fitting like you used but i will be on a Quest and try to find some close...And if its the flow sensor i'am i trouble...Cheers Are they made by the same company????

    Ya can just flush water thru it for a couple of minutes thru the unit in both directions and then fill it up with white vinegar, let it sit for 12 hours, and then flush again in both directions. Done. I wouldn't leave the vinegar in it for more than 36 hours.

    Hi there. How can I descale my egg when the pump isn't working? I have tried all other troubleshooting ideas. I am wondering whether it is not working because it needs to be descaled. Thanks

    • @junkendriven
      @junkendriven  3 года назад

      Hi, it could be so badly clogged it needs descaling, however it's more likely the impeller is damaged and needs replacing as if it won't stay on more than a few seconds it needs the pump checking out.
      Good luck and try my other videos for other hot tub repairs

    How often should you descale your pump?

    • @layzrepair
      @layzrepair 2 года назад

      there no real answer. as long as you keep your hot tubs water to ta neutral Ph then no issues. but before you decide to pack away your hot tub. reduce your ph. this means to a acid. obviously do not use the hot tub. run like this for 24 hours or so. this should remove any limescale. or? tip the egg on its back. and descale that way. no pint with all this extra pipe work. so over kill.
