Lay-Z-Spa Bestway pump error E02 and E08 error code fix
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 29 сен 2024
- Video on the Bestway Lay-Z-Spa egg type pump units and the common error codes E02 and E08 and how to solve them. These codes are when the filter is clogged, pump is jammed or blocked or not pumping correctly and so the water float sensor sticks or shows no water flow.
The error E08 is also thrown as when water flow is too slow it causes heat to build up in the heater and trip the E08 over temperature alert.
Follow this guide and figure out how it works and how to solve it.
The replacement impeller was only £9 from here:

Cheap alternative, do NOT pay the huge £40 ones as they're identical to this. This is because the pump is very similar to the ones used in pond and pool pump, fountains and water features!
This is also similar for Coleman and Saluspa pumps which are almost identical in features inside and parts so this should work for you too!
Also remember, you can buy my hottubmanager remote control and monitoring unit for the 4-wire units take a look at hottubmanager.co.uk/ for more information
Any way to buy this in Germany?
i see that this is the old version of that pump because it uses the aluminum housing for the electric heater elements, and that will fail pretty soon because
the chlorine eats away the aluminum and then the rubber seals will start to leak and water wil get to the heater elements and then it's all over.
The newer version has a stainless steel housing, so they solved that problem alright, because i have mine for 5 years now and no problem on the pump and it's internals, but the liner is not that great because i have to keep on fixing holes and even the ring where the bubbles come out did had a 5 inch cut that i had to glue up and that worked for 2 months but now the fix is starting to come loose again, so i will fix it at the end of summer and then sell it and buy a new one with those nice led lights,
Thank you. Saved my weekend with this video with the reset button!
Great news, glad it's helped you
Me and my wifes had an E08 fault for a short while and had no instructions on how to reset it and i was worried it meant a new spa set up these arent cheap but thanks to your youtube video its worked wonders its really helped 👍👍👍
Andy, this video has really helped me out, hopefully it will sort my E02 and E08 issues. Thank you.
Hi , did you manage to sort it with this video? I have the e02 and e08 also. Thanks
Thank you Andy, I know this is an old video but this video was sooo helpful, my Lay-Z-Spa Paris just started to make a rattling noise, used this video to have a look and found it was the impeller making the noise, thought I would give the one you linked a try as it's just so cheap it's worth a go (also Amazon next day why not). I've just replaced it and seems to be working quietly again now, although similar to Madmatt, I had to chop a little off the shaft, I just did mine to match the original shaft in length. Thank you again, if not for this video I probably wouldn't have attempted anything like this :-)
Great news Nathan, thank you for the kind comments and I'm glad it worked out for you
Thanks mate, watched the video and learned of the reset button. All working now 👍🏽👍🏽
has anyone run into the case where the pump (filter motor) doesnt even power on at all? The egg itself is on and can blow air etc, but when I push the filter button, nothing at all, then a few seconds later an E02 error. It doesnt seem clogged, it seems to not want to start at all
Did you ever get a solution to this? I have the same symptoms and was wondering if a new pump would fix it or chuck the hot tub in the bin....I am fed up of replacing things on it now!
@@garethwilkins9767 never got an answer myself and did the latter of the two options.
Thanks a lot for your support! It helped me resolve E08 fault.
Very good instruction thank you so much for showing us. I’ll let you know how mine turns out
Great, hope it all works out for you Cat
Thank you for the informative video. How did you power the pump to test it?
The pump is ran from the transformer/power supply shown in the base. You can power that direct from 240v which is what I did, however if you are not familiar with electrical supplies/connections then please do not attempt this, you are better off connecting it up normally and powering it using the hot tub control panel as normal
Would you recommend a silicone based grease for seals, connectors and impeller bushes?
Hi Andy - thanks for this really useful and well explained video.. After following this guide, I've found that my impeller has seen better days, so have a replacement on order. You deserve a like and a subscribe :-)
Where can I get the part plz the 1 4 e002 thank u was very helpful watching ur video
Wonderfully helpful
Hi Andy I am trying to find just the sensor. You said they are about £10 on eBay. Could you please send me a link.
I have cleaned everything still not working so going to change the sensor if that doesn’t work I will change the propeller, it looked ok but not sure what to do next. ?
Thanks
Thx
ps my kit is a bestway rebranded coleman unit and does not have the thermal reset switch. it does infact have the thermal reset button and upon opening the unit there is no internal switch. the mounting for the switch is there and no switch present and it looks like there was never a switch installed. im not sure oif theis is left out of the assembly for the usa market or what the reason is for not including the switch.
Hi Jonathan. Great work on the alternative pump plumbing, sometimes it's the best solution for these units! The e08 is unusual in this case. So the thermal trip is probably overheat on the heater element. On top of the metal casing of the heater there is a thermal sensor which will trigger if it overheats. I suspect this is what is causing your e08, so for some reason the heater is getting too hot. You need to make sure there is enough water flow through the two heater chambers, one in along round the far end, back along and out. I can only guess but it suggests water isn't flowing fast enough, or one of the chambers is blocked and not getting water. It effectively uses the water to cool the heater down, so if it's getting too hot that's probably the issue.
Let me know how you get on, good luck and thanks for visiting and subscribing
andy thank you for the prompt reply!
lastnight i ran the pump with no heat for 20min and even turned on the bubbles for a bit with no issue.
within 2sec of turning on the heater the system shuts down with the e08 code.
the new pump is pumping slightly more water than the original pump so i think flow isn't the issue unless it's a scaled heater element?
i'm stymied.
Only 2 of 3 flames are lit on the pump heater button. What does it mean?
I don't think it means anything, it's a single led light that illuminates that so probably just a dark spot on the button itself.
Which impeller for bestway saluspa paris?
Any tips for e09 code?
Hi me again are the hottub mangers now working? You said you had a hardware is this now resolved?
The units are working for the egg shaped pumps to view temperature, pump status, etc. Currently they cannot control them.
Hi Andy, I have a Palm Springs Hydrojet c 2017. Its giving E02 errors and the thermal reset cycle doesn't help. I've taken the filter/cover and small inlet cover out with no improvement. The hydro jets work fine so I assume the pump is fine. The E02 comes on a few seconds after resets and comes on whether I press the heater button or just the filtration button. If its the flow sensor process then as the flow is fine (i.e hydrojet works) then the sensor must be faulty ?.
Hi there. It sounds like the flow sensor to me. I'm not sure if hydrojet uses a separate pump though so you might need to check. But my guess is as you say, the flow sensor is not recognising water flow and shutting it off immediately. You probably need to open it up and open the flow sensor part, see if something is jamming the little flow sensor which is a little plastic flap inside.
This was very helpful. If only I could get the link to purchase the parts, I need it would be great.
Hi, link to the replacement impeller is in the video description - amzn.to/2AnKo5i
Let me know if you need any other parts links.
Hi Andy. We've checked the impeller - all looks fine (some hair had wrapped around it - now cleaned off), but it's still going to E02 after a few seconds (initially pump sounds good and quiet) Any other ideas on what the issue could be ? Help !
I noticed that the rubber 'plug' on the bottom of the impeller is stuck in the pump housing. Could this be the issue ??
check flow sensor
Did you figure it out?

Trying to find an answer to no air going into Monaco spa, pump sounds great but no air to make the bubbles Please advise if you can my friend
It sounds like the mushroom valves in the lower section failing and just letting air escape in the egg. Check my other videos on seal replacement to find the right bits

hi Andy ive a lay-z-spa paris. i keep getting an E02 error, ive taken it apart and the propeller in the pump seems fine. it only seems to work up to about 23c and then cuts out. any ideas please, could this need descaling?. thanks in advance Eddie
Hi, that's odd it goes up to a temperature then cuts out with E02 but yes I think you're right it could need descaling as a build up will cause a kettle-like boiling effect in the heater. For the cost of a bucket and some descaling solution you can try this - ruclips.net/video/cmKWWRJNLJw/видео.html
@@junkendriven I'm going to descale it, but there's no sign of build up anywhere in the pump I would expect there to be else where, would that be correct?
Also turned off the the heat, still happens after 1-2 hours without heat. Pump sounds nice and quiet as normal. I don't want to bin it yet, it must be something that can be replaced or fixed. I hope 🙏
Hi Andy, where is the link to the Hot Tub manager please?
Ditto, what is it and where do I buy!?
i brought the Lay Z Spa april last year but have only just had time to set it up i am not getting any error messages but the egg is not heating the water up at all tried doing the thermal reset with no luck any ideas were i should be looking
Sounds like the heater elements themselves have failed, unfortunately chances are it's only a replacement option for you. Take a look at video: ruclips.net/video/qhTffE1jT88/видео.html This is where I take the heater components apart and you can see the two heating elements.
I didn't see the link to buy impeller
No problem, the link is amzn.to/2AnKo5i
Has anybody had a pump transformer go down ?
Hi John, not heard of one but I'm not surprised. When my pump was going faulty it was causing higher load on the transformer and it got very hot so I'm not surprised in some cases it will fail due to the windings inside melting. Relatively easy to replace and can match it with any transformer with same rating
Andy Brown thank you for replying Andy. I noticed on e bay that they are selling a refurbished transformer. Can’t quite see how that works. Have you seen how much resin is used to seal it !
@@johnbridges7477 No problem! And yes, I cannot see how it can be a refurb as agree with you there, it's totally potted in resin, no chance of getting it out without damage! Most likely removed working from another pump, if not too expensive might be worth trying, but I'd also think of replacing the impeller as most likely the pump itself causing higher resistance or is damaged causing the load on the transformer.
Andy Brown was thinking the same.
Se me trabo la bomba con pelos ojo
You are the man, my friend!
Reset button for E08 error - worked a treat 👍
This helped loads. But I had the helsinki tum. The impeller looked different. No rubber ends and a spike in the bottom of the magnetic port in the pump. I had a ceramic spindle that I dropped and broke with the original, it would have been too wide to fit in the new impeller, but I cut the metal spindle down. Mostly guessing. I will add a pic to show the impeller damage and old spindle and what I cut off the new spindle.
Thanks for the great video, most helpful. If your pump is noisy and you suspect it's the impeller you will not need to remove the middle. Only the bottom and work from there.
Andy, still have issues- change the impeller seals- checked for leaks all seem good, still getting E02 🤬, any more advice ?
Also do you have a link for the water flow sensor.
Thank you
I have same issue: changed impeller and carry in dry run: it worked for 4 seconds and then error 02 show up again, any advice?
Hi Kris, you can't test as dry run. You must always have water pressure from the tub as the pump is not a self primer, it needs pressure from the water in the tub to work
@paddy5504 it could be the sensor. Unfortunately I don't know where to get new replacement from, try eBay.
It may still be slow water flow, check water is flowing through strongly, if it isn't then there is still a problem with the pump or heater being clogged and slowing eater flow
Excellent video. Clear and concise with good audio and video. Thank you.
Well done, sir. Well done.
Thanks for the kind feedback, glad you found it useful :-)
Andy, I would like to bypass the sensors, can I just remove them and connect the wires ?
Mine won't heat past 100, sometimes 102. Hasn't hit 104 in a while. Scale issue ?
Many thanks for this video we think we have found it do you know where to get a new filter pump encase that is the issue?
Hi Andy, I have replaced the impeller and it sounds much better. When I connect to the tub, it works for a few seconds and then throws the E02 code again. When I hook a water hose directly to the pump, the pump works great with no E02 code. I’ve checked tubes and the water flow from the tub is as strong as the water hose pressure. Any suggestions on what this might be?
Did you ever figure this out?
Hi Andy. Thanks for he video. I’ve changed the impeller. . . I STILL have an E02 error. The thing is driving me to insanity! I’ve changed the filter, checked the housing, cleaned the debris covers, checked for kinked pipes, (None), descaled the unit for 20 mins with an E02 blaster I bought, it worked for about an hour after that.... then E02 returned. Please can you help?! 😩
At that point i would just replace the whole hot tub
Cheers Andy 🍻 just fixed my broken pump now works like dream .
Hi Andy just wondering if you can help.
My spa pump has just stopped flowing completely.
I push the button the red light comes on but no flow at all.
After about four seconds I then get the e02 error.
Just wondering if you had any advice on a fix..
Sounds like either pump or the pump power supply has failed. First check if the pump even tries to switch on so listen for noise. It might be the impeller totally damaged so taking the pump apart to check would be a good first option
Hi Andy, great video very informative and helpful but the impeller link in your description needs the main shaft(metal on new one, plastic on original) cutting down by about 4mm to fit. Also the shaft is a slightly smaller diameter. Still fixed my unit, but not a perfect fit.
hey andy thank you for all the informative and well done videos.
im wondering if you can hekp with this current issue?
after having several pump impeller shafts wearout i replumbed a better comparable pump into the housing and all is well as far as the pumps ability to push water through the system indefinitley with no heater involved.
the problem arises as soon as the heater is activated at which point the entire system shuts down with an E08 error.
any idea as to what might be happening?
thank you
Hay, is there a way to increase the max temp from 104?? just a few degrees up would be nice, thanks
HI Rich, unfortunately not, it's hard-set as the higher limit in the controllers as it's a safe temperature not only for the water but also for all the seals, pump hardware, etc, so I'd also not really recommend trying to work around it (There are ways, but it does make it unsafe!).
Andy, taken my pump out and with it connected to a 12v power supply, I hear a humming sound but no impeller rotation - any ideas? Thanks,
Hi James, firstly did you connect to a 12v AC supply? I'm almost certain they are ac motors, check your power supply in the pump casing as I think they have the tilde ~ mark meaning AC.
If no rotation my first one would be removing the impeller and replacing it and the two rubber stops either end of it as it would be the plastic shaft is bent or slightly damaged causing it to jam.
Good luck!
hi andy great helpful videos thank you,my issue is my impeller only stops working after ive changed the water or drained the tub after i take the pump apart and reinstall the same impellar it works no problem and idea why this is??
It sounds like the pump is getting weaker and will probably get worse. These pumps need water pressure to work, they won't work/pull water without priming and a head of water so that might be the issue with air getting locked and the pump cannot self prime
please give me the link for new impellor shaft & seals very good tutorial for the EO2 &EO8 fault codes

Great video - thanks! Can you advise if the mains cable has an 'earth' included? I have acquired Miami, and my mains-cable is 2-core (live & neutral) - no earth. I'll change it if it should be 3-core! Regards
Hi Trevor, for the benefit of others that find this, yes mine has an earth lead and is attached to the metal of the heater, to safely ground it should the heater fail.
Where is the link please Andy I think mines just broken
The best impeller replacement video I have seen! So impressed with it, we have added it to our website
What is the website as I'd like to watch and read like a cool nerd to be
How to you test the pump? Was the 12v pack still attached to the unit? Ive replaced the impeller but still getting E02 code. Could it be the seal thats perished and leaking water from water pump that's still causing this error. Many thanks Amanda
Yes, I provided power to the power supply direct but I'd not recommend this for safety reasons. Easier to test with an easyscale or build the descaler bucket I made in a previous video so you can then run and test it.
If leaking water from the pump then yes water flow will be lost and cause e02
Thanks for your reply. Just fitted new seal, fingers crossed 🤞
Andy, mine ran fine for 2 months but now the water isn’t getting hot but temperature reads 104. Tried unplugging, resetting gfci breaker. I don’t have any codes on my green egg. Any idea??
Sounds like the temperature sensor is faulty if it constantly reads hot then it won't turn on the heaters. The temperature sensor is the one set in the grey plastic to the side of the heater. Try replacing it or testing it and hopefully that's all that's wrong
@@junkendriven ok, it stays luke warm. Before that it seemed to getting real hot. I wasn’t sure if there was a thermostat or not. Can I buy just the temp sensor somewhere? Thanks for replying. You have been a big help

Hi. Great video. My impeller stops spinning after about 5 seconds and fires up e02 code. Impeller in good condition. Any ideas what that could be? Thanks
Hi Andy after watching video I bought impeller kit and replaced, still error code e02. I saw also you ran the pump out of the egg, ? 🤔 how ..any ideas. Best regards Mike
Hello Andy. My Pump cuts out when I switch the heat on. The water circulation works fine but after about 5-10 seconds after turning on the heat the power is cut off to the pump. Can you help?
Hi Andy brilliant video ,turn mine on absolutely no sound at all then goes to a 02 error any suggestions also the air pump works fine but nothing else
Sounds like the pump doesn't even start. If so it's either the pump itself or the black power supply for the pump which is the big black box that sits in the upper casing. You'd need to test and see which has failed and replace unfortunately
Thanks Andy, mines is the Barbados only had it 9 months I have contacted bestway they have after jumping through hoops sent a new pump,I opened up the old one to have a look impeller is split, and took apart the heating element it is absolutely blocked and leaking out the sides it also has a date written on it of 2015 do u think they are using old parts I paid top price for it
I need to try this my impeller is really noisy like a squeal
I've tried everything changed washers ran descaler through the heat exchanger which look OK I've also put in a new impeller still E02, I even have a new flow sensor tapped to a magnetic still can't stop the E02. I test it while connected to a descaler device. Any help appreciate.
Hi Gary, it sounds like it may be the main board faulty. Try this last test.
Power off, unplug the connector that goes to the flow switch. Plug in and power on, but don't start water pump. Wait a minute or two, hopefully no error (if error then main board faulty).
Then use a screwdriver or a small screw and short out the two pins in the connector that did go to the flow sensor. This tricks it to think water is flowing. Then start the pump, give it a few minutes and see if it errors. If no error then it's your flow sensor reed switch or flow itself at fault. If an error then it's your main control board at fault. Good luck!
@@junkendriven Hi Andy crossing the 2 pins has worked, I had tried it before but no disconnecting from the power first, which has made the difference thank you very much, I did replace the flow sensor already, so what does that mean now is it OK to keep using or do I need to replace something else.
Cheers many thanks Gary
Hi Gary, good news so your main board is ok. It'll be the flow sensor, the flap inside isn't great and probably isn't lifting high enough to trigger the reed switch sensor. You can try adding weight or trying to adjust it (take the flow flap out from the round cover).
You can run it bypassed but I'd not recommend for long as if a problem occurs with the pump or flow it won't shut off and could cause damage
@@junkendriven OK great I did replace the sensor so like you say it must be the flap bit, I'll try & get hold of a new unit thanks again for your help.
Cheers
Gary
Was about to give up on it. Changed the impeller and no more e02 error and the pump is working like new. Thank you very much.
Great news, yes surprising that although no physical looking damage it seems to go bad. Glad you got sorted
@@junkendriven I did the same today. New impeller. Worked fantastic and much more quiet. Problem now is I have a leak. I've added sealant along the O ring (it was in fine shape) and it's still leaking. Could it be leaking from somewhere else? I've seen some folks talk about air intake valve causing leaks but to this point, I had NO leaks until I changed the impeller. Very frustrating.
hi andy when i turn on my egg it will run for about 4 seconds then goes to EO2 mode, i have stripped it all down and its all clean and i have also replaced the impeller and all the seals but it still doing the same.have you got any other ideas to why this is still going in to EO2 mode
Sounds like the float that triggers the water flow sensor is faulty, this is the semi-transparent section on the outlet hose, in the top is the reed switch that senses it (black tube) check this is positioned correctly, and also open and check the paddle flaps up and down correctly. Good luck, hope you solve it
@@junkendriven thanks for replying I will try it thanks
Thank you nice explenations
Hi Andy ! I change the impeller and that’s didn’t seem to fix the problem
Looks like the hose of one the filters is not suctioning as much weather as the other side
Do you have any idea of what this could be ?
Hello the impeller I purchased worked for one week and it stopped working do you have one you can recommend that will fit properly and work for more then a week?
Hi Andy thanks for this, you don't know what magnetic reed sensor is needed to replace I'm confused as there's so many to choose from?
It's really difficult to find an exact replacement. Depending on how handy you are with electrical work you can just use a raw switch and put the connector on it. Something like: amzn.to/2IS3Qvh BUT it would need one leg bent round so it would fit into the fitting. I've not replaced mine so I cannot be 100% sure that one would work effectively or not. Most reed switches detect in their length, not their tip like the one in the Lay-Z-Spa so it might take a bit of trial and error.
@@junkendriven Thanks, I replaced the impeller with the one you posted, I had to cut 4mm off the metal centre piece and it fitted perfectly, the unit no longer is displaying the E02 message plus it's no so quiet, so thank you.
My unit is a Lay-Z-Spa Maldives
I have 2 pumps, one quit so I use it for parts, second one works, but got SUPER loud. I ordered the same 16mm impeller, but it is a bit longer then the rods that are in either of my pumps. I put it in, screwed it tight, and now I get e02 errors. I'm thinking the rob may be too long, should I cut it to match the length?
Were do you get replacement impeller from thanks stuart
Replacement impeller link on Amazon is in the video description
amzn.to/2AnKo5i
Andy. Only getting the E02 fault when the heater is on?? Any ideas
Hi Bill, that's very odd as no real link there. It might be the impeller or its transformer losing power due to the high current draw on the heater. Is it on a decent ring main or proper external socket?
Otherwise it may be the pump getting slower and just happens to dip at the wrong moment.
The e02 is when the flow rate sensor (translucent perspex near the outlet) 'blips' and doesn't get enough flow past it
If the pump itself in faulty, are there any options to replace it? please leave links, thank you.
Hello Andy, great video. Where is the link for the replacement impeller please. Thank you so much.
Thanks for video, just ordered a new impellor/shaft. As e02 problem.. If problem still persists. Do you think I should replace water flow sensor
I hope you can help my problem! Is the Bestway Lay-Z Spa the same as the Coleman salu spa ? I have been told their made by the same company? Looking at the two they look the same. I'am getting the E02 code the pump works fine, their is no blockage any place witch leads me to think its the water flow sensor is the problem. I have disassembled the valve body and it also was clean. What i see is a probe on top and a plastic flapper with round metal dot in the middle is that a magnet and the round probe activates the flapper? I was going to just install a new one but i have looked on line and know one seems to have them. Does the probe get weak and not activate the flapper? Is their a way to bypass it? I have not checked the heater to see if it could be restricting the flow yet. What do you think? cheers
Hi, yes Coleman are practically the same and you're right that it'll be the flow sensor.
One thing, the flapper has a magnet in it. When water flows fast past it, it floats/lifts it and the small black rod is a reed switch (magnet detector!) And that's how it works. If flow is too slow typically that's what causes it so although it pumps, the pump may be becoming weaker. You can bypass the flow switch as a test. It's low voltage on those pins so, disconnect the black reed sensor. Power the unit on, then turn pump on. Short those pins out by using a screwdriver and the unit will operate. If it continues then it's the reed switch or flow rate too low.
@@junkendriven thank you Andy I will do that. Thank you very much for getting back to me so quickly. If that is the problem and I can't find the part can I glue a small magnet to the flapper until I can find the part? Things again
Hi, the flapper is already a magnet. What you can do is add a magnet on the outside, just after turning the pump on move a magnet beside the black cylinder that sticks up. It'll detect and keep the pump working, but caution, it won't stop in a pump or filter failure so could cause more damage

Hi how do you test pump without it bringing up an error if no water flowing through it? Thanks
Will opening up the pump affect the warranty that I have on the pump? Thanks in advance!
Hi Andy, I get an E02 message only when i fit the filter to the hot tub. I've tried several new filters and checked the element is clean and clear. Any ideas please?
Hi, it sounds like the pump might be having problems, the added load of sucking through the filter must be slowing the water flow rate too much. Potentially need to replace the impeller in the pump, is it noisy?
@@junkendriven Hi, ive just taken the pump apart and it looks in good condition. It runs silently and no signs of any cracks. Your video mentioned about the 2 flow rate sensors. Could they cause E02 too?
Ah ok, yes possibly if you feel the flow out of the outlet pipe and its strong it could be your sensor. It'll be the sensor on the top of the translucent casing. Take a look at my other hottub repair videos as I show this flow sensor and switch
@@junkendriven hi, i have 2 sensors which both measure ok with a meter. Without the filter in place I can feel a very strong flow on the output. As soon as the filter is added there is only a very light flow. Could the pump have lost some power/torque?
Possibly. It's similar to what I think mine did. Nothing obvious but changing the impeller and it went even quieter and increased volume of water it could push
Andy, I am located in British Columbia Canada, I have a Coleman Saluspa (Green Egg Pump) the GFCI keeps cutting out, I have removed the cover of the pump and don’t see any obvious signs of leaking, it’s works fine just keeps cutting out, and I have to reset it. Do you have any idea of suggestions as to what the issue could be? Also do you know where I can source parts for this unit? Thanks!!
Hi there, ok so GFCI cutting it out would most likely point to the heater. Try running it with the heat function turned off and see if it trips. My guess is it won't which means one of the two heater blocks has developed a fault and is 'leaking' current. You can disconnect the heater blocks separately, take a look at this video and my other one on the repair guide ruclips.net/video/qhTffE1jT88/видео.html as you'll see the two heater blocks clearly and how they connect. Spare parts are a huge problem worldwide, nobody really manufactures parts so you need to find close alternatives/repair them yourself.
Good luck, hope you find the problem.
E02 - Hot Tub just on IDLE with no water connected. After several hours the E02 error starts? Is this just because of lack of water? Why would it start after several hours, sometimes days?
Hi, so no pump running at all then it does E02 error? That is odd as E02 is only triggered when the pump unit is calling for the water pump to be running and water to be flowing. It could be a faulty flow sensor so you might need to take the sensor out and clean it/check for debris.
Mate thankyou for this video you solved my issue in less then 5 mins
Hi. I have a 6CF issus. Anyone who can tell me what it's it ?
Just took out of box I am not getting an error code but when plugged in only lights up briefly then goes off. Try to push buttons but nothing happens. HELP!
Hi, that sounds like a fault on the main board, I've had a few people say the same fault. I think it's the power supply has failed which is part of the main board (in the white box in the base). Not much you can do unfortunately that I know of to repair other than replace :-(
It was very helpfull! Thank you for the good Video and ✌ from Germany
A link to a USA delivery please thanks so much
I’ve tried all that you’ve mentioned, but to my dismay. It still comes up with the error E02. How and where do I find the link for the water sensor t purchase a new one?
Regards
Chris
Unfortunately Chris you can't easily get spare parts. Try searching ebay but they'll always be second-hand parts.
Is the flow of water still strong from the pump? It's more likely the pump/impeller has failed and not pumping water quickly enough, my first thought would be replacing the impeller.
Hi Andy,
Do you repair and service these machines yourself for people? I have several which need servicing on a regular basis if so. Thanks
You mention at the end about your management unit that you sell. My question is that I have been searching for some time for the pinout diagram of the ribbon cable for these and can't find it. WOuld you by chance know where to get it?
When I tested the impeller it rattled briefly then went quiet and smooth, but I can't feel much air from it so wonder if it's just too slow/not powerful enough? Should you be able to feel it? Do they just slow down over time?
Hi there, so these pumps need to have water flowing through it, testing without water won't help and you won't feel air pumped from it. They do degrade over time and wear out, mainly the centre shaft and plastic tube. If water flow is slow then this is potentially the issue, but also check if you are getting calcium/limescale deposits too as that collects in the heater and will slow the flow rate.
Hi Andy, Great video... How did you go about powering the pump to test it out on its own.. about 8m 10secs into the videa.. can i connect the water pump up somehow without connecting the whole system?
Hi there, thank you. So usual disclaimer about mains electrical work. But the wire that goes into the transformer then to pump, those two input wires are normal mains voltage, so disconnect everything. Unscrew the terminals for the pump power supply and fit a normal mains plug on it. You can then test and run the pump only.
Remember! No protection for running dry, etc.
Good luck
You just saved my marriage
Glad you solved your problems! Good to know :-)
Nice helpful video, many thanks! 👍🏻
Glad it was helpful!
Same as Andy, easy straight forward instructions, will now try and take mine apart and see if my impeller is faulty and or blocked many thanks Andy,... liken followed now 👍
Do you have any ideas for fixing a motor with an e08 error code please. I'm not having much luck
Replace the rotor and spindle? Follow the description to video and links to order a replacement
I have The same problem, EO2 😠.
Did u buy your impeller from Amazon?
Wich one Did u buy, 🤷♂️
Hi, link is in the video description, which is amzn.to/2AnKo5i
Hope that helps
Thanks 🙂👍
thanks for the help, cracked shaft on the pump, I made a new one from a carbon rod.
Great find, yes they're not very sturdy considering the number of hours they're running for! The replacements tend to be metal that last longer but a carbon rod will do very nicely. Please remember to subscribe to help the channel out.
Did you cut the rod to the same length? The replacement I ordered was 16mm and it's 2-3mm longer than the shaft that is in it and doesn't seem to want to spin in the pump
@@junkendriven where do i order the thing thats inside with magnet, mine is litle bit broken but i gut the pump working(it's noysi laud) so i think its good to order that piese but where?

Do you do repairs Andy need help Arthritis to sore
Great vidéo thanks very good job thaaaannnnnks Andy
I am getting ABleeping sound and also showing E04 cat get this to stop can you help
Hi Frank. E04 is the over-temperature alarm. If the heaters go over their highest temperature then it will error and shut down to protect itself. That is detected by the temperature sensor directly on top of the heater block (The black thin strip you see in the video). First thing I'd check and make sure that's seated properly.
Next would be to check the water flow as if the flow is too slow/restricted then the water will heat up too quickly in the heaters and it will quickly overheat.
Hope that helps.
