At 74 I am excited to be wearing Birkenstocks once more. My last pair I wore for almost 30 yrs before the cork started to disintegrate. Had I known I could have the re-corked I would be still wearing them. I also have strappy flat leather sandals in black and cognac colour. I also have some Teva thong sandals which I wore hiking . My husband saw these shoes in NYC that a girl was wearing, they were platform, transparent and had a little blue fish swimming in the heel of the platform. He still speaks of those to this day! 😄

Platform wedges I bought a pair of fuschia Gabor suede sandals 3 inch wedge with 1 inch platform in cork. Love them very comfy I’m 5’4 nice way to wear a heel again!

Just got some Veronica Beard GOLD platform slides & they're PERFECT! You can keep your cages, your mary janes & your 'sporties'... wouldn't be caught dead in any of them!

I’ve been working on minimizing my vast shoe wardrobe, and investing in quality footwear that’s more comfortable and classic, that I will get a lot of wear out of. I’d wanted the Valentino espadrilles for quite some time, and couldn’t decide whether to invest in black or the poudre shade….I knew I’d wear both a lot, but I could only get one pair at that price tag! I lucked out right before my birthday last year when I discovered both colors on a consignment site, in my size, each for slightly less than half the retail price, in excellent condition! I didn’t even think twice-I snatched them both up. They’re wonderful shoes that I’ve worn a lot already. They’re very comfortable and don’t feel like they’re as high as they are. And although they’re considered on the trendy side right now, I think their style is so classic and will look great for years to come. I highly recommend them!
Those Valentino espadrilles are amazing! I bought the fushia pair and then went back for the blue. Pair with the matching Rockstud envelope clutch and you feel like a million dollars. ❤
Erin, one big and one HUGE thank you follows and perhaps some helpful info for some of your followers that lean towards plus sizes. Delighted to learn about shoe trends. I have a pair of Stuart Weitzman silver, platform espadrilles that i purchased on clearance at the end of last summer; hooray three trends in one! Also, have a pair of Linea Paolo's purchased about 15 years ago that are white leather platforms with a "u" carved out of the platform; sounds like back in style for summer and so glad i hung onto them. Second, about a month ago you did a video in collab with Banana Republic. Was shocked to discover they carried up to xxl in both men's and women's sizes (along with petites and talls). Happened to pop into one of their stores today and purchased a classy black linen dress in an xl. My size is probably best described as a 16W. Didn't think they'd carry larger sizes in store, and if they did, wasn't convinced they would fit. The sales staff were super helpful. And, i was able to shop with my hubby on this occasion. It was the most inclusive shopping experience ive had perhaps ever. People of a wide variety of shapes, ages, colors, and gender all in store. This is one of very few places where i can shop for clothes with my friends. I would never have re-discovered this brand and its store without your channel. A heartfelt thanks from me to you. I love the Dior slingbacks. I would love a pair. The one I am not crazy about is the MaryJane's. I hate to say I will never wear them, because I have a feeling as they become more seen, I might succumb. But they do look like dancing shoes. OK, so I am totally on board for slingbacks, Mary Janes (got the lower version by Dior that are similar to yours), espadrilles, sneakers (finally broke down and bought some new ones but have had a white leather sneaker that I got 15 to 20 years ago and never wore, pulled them out), cage sandals (have a bunch, got one I love from Fred Segal last year), and ballet flats (really have a lot of these). I don't trust my ankles for platforms and tend to shy away from high heels (I am 5'6") for the same reason -- small feet, weakish ankles. Love the Schutz -- new brand for me. Thanks, Erin. One can never have enough shoes! 😍
Sling-backs are my favorite. I am more a classic-shoe kind of gal. Platforms would have been my second choice if I was younger, but I am not. I fear falling and I cannot take that at my age (63). Sneakers for sure, they are comfy and fun. I am a shoe lover, but not as much as I used to be when I was young. Thank you so much for a fun video.
I m into the semi masculine shoes these days.. so shoes like the caged sandals but with open toes and chunky heals; Birkenstock(love my them) and enjoying my chunky loafers though may not be a thing at the moment..I think they are great with wide leg trousers, flares and cargos..these days Im trying to find ways to incorporate the old with the new and just having fun with it..

Erin, one big and one HUGE thank you follows and perhaps some helpful info for some of your followers that lean towards plus sizes. Delighted to learn about shoe trends. I have a pair of Stuart Weitzman silver, platform espadrilles that i purchased on clearance at the end of last summer; hooray three trends in one! Also, have a pair of Linea Paolo's purchased about 15 years ago that are white leather platforms with a "u" carved out of the platform; sounds like back in style for summer and so glad i hung onto them. Second, about a month ago you did a video in collab with Banana Republic. Was shocked to discover they carried up to xxl in both men's and women's sizes (along with petites and talls). Happened to pop into one of their stores today and purchased a classy black linen dress in an xl. My size is probably best described as a 16W. Didn't think they'd carry larger sizes in store, and if they did, wasn't convinced they would fit. The sales staff were super helpful. And, i was able to shop with my hubby on this occasion. It was the most inclusive shopping experience ive had perhaps ever. People of a wide variety of shapes, ages, colors, and gender all in store. This is one of very few places where i can shop for clothes with my friends. I would never have re-discovered this brand and its store without your channel. A heartfelt thanks from me to you. Sam Edelman are my “high point” shoe!!!😂😂😂. But I love them so much. The Felicia Flat is an all time fav. I am 5’10 so that’s my jam. The don’t wear out and I constantly wear them everywhere.

Great idea! The easiest way to style them is with shorts or ankle length jeans or joggers! Some also work great with a midi length dress too. I loved wearing midi dresses with sporty sandals last summer: busbeestyle.com/how-to-dress-in-middle-east/

I love shoes and you are so right about pretty much remaining the same size. Thank goodness because if they spread like our behinds are known to do it wouldn't be such a joy anymore😂. Im on board for most of the trends but really love platform,sling back,sculptural,espadrill,mary jane and sneakers.

Mine did too but they went back after a year or so. I got rid of so many shoes and I never thought would fit again and bought new 1/2 up shoes that then became too big. So in a way I got 2 amazing things. A wonderful child and a bunch of new shoes.🤣

I decided to buy a pair of Chloe sneakers for our up coming trip to Europe. I don't wear heels much anymore and I can justify the spend on the sneakers for our trip and for everyday wear. I hold onto my shoe purchases bc the trends tend to come and go. Great video covering all the trends!

I love the Dior slingbacks. I would love a pair. The one I am not crazy about is the MaryJane's. I hate to say I will never wear them, because I have a feeling as they become more seen, I might succumb. But they do look like dancing shoes. OK, so I am totally on board for slingbacks, Mary Janes (got the lower version by Dior that are similar to yours), espadrilles, sneakers (finally broke down and bought some new ones but have had a white leather sneaker that I got 15 to 20 years ago and never wore, pulled them out), cage sandals (have a bunch, got one I love from Fred Segal last year), and ballet flats (really have a lot of these). I don't trust my ankles for platforms and tend to shy away from high heels (I am 5'6") for the same reason -- small feet, weakish ankles. Love the Schutz -- new brand for me. Thanks, Erin. One can never have enough shoes! 😍

Sling-backs are my favorite. I am more a classic-shoe kind of gal. Platforms would have been my second choice if I was younger, but I am not. I fear falling and I cannot take that at my age (63). Sneakers for sure, they are comfy and fun. I am a shoe lover, but not as much as I used to be when I was young. Thank you so much for a fun video.

I m into the semi masculine shoes these days.. so shoes like the caged sandals but with open toes and chunky heals; Birkenstock(love my them) and enjoying my chunky loafers though may not be a thing at the moment..I think they are great with wide leg trousers, flares and cargos..these days Im trying to find ways to incorporate the old with the new and just having fun with it..
