When I was in Denver homeless I would buy a bag of bugler tobacco, and I would give it to another trustworthy homeless friend of mine, I told him to sell 42 cigarettes, 2 for a dollar. The pack of tobacco that came with the papers ran me about $16, I had acquired a day job, so I was able to shower at the shelter in the morning, get dressed, and walk to the hotel I did valet for nearby. The money for the tobacco always came from tips. Eventually, I saved enough for a bus ticket home, found a roommate with what I had left. Where there's a will, there's a way. Once you have nothing you are free to do anything.
So you made a guy roll you 42 cigarettes and made him run around all day selling them to 2 for $1 to make $5 in profit total. So you pay him $2.50 and take home $2.50 or just pay him nothing? He could’ve made more by picking up change off the ground
Excellent video Joey! Very helpful, especially in the times we are living in. Homelessness is very close to many people (myself included). I pray I don't end up in that position but I have been trying to mentally prepare myself for this scenario. Ive been working full time at the same company for a year and a half now, but the wages are not even close to matching the cost of living when you include rent, child support, gad, groceries, etc.... It's sad this country is on the state it is in. Both my parents are dead (God I miss them so much). And it is scary just knowing I am teetering on the edge of homelessness. But your videos are giving me hope that if it happens, it's not the end of the world. It feels like it, but it's not I peay to God every night that things get better for everybody including myself that are in this situation. Sooo glad I found your channel Joey. If I fo end up homeless I will most likely go the artistic route as I have been playing guitar for over 30 years now. Don't worry. Worrying is like praying for things you don't want. Just know that whatever happens, happens for a reason and it's meant to teach you something. And most misfortune turns out to be a blessing in disguise. Nothing is permanent. Things change so if things have been rough lately that means you're due for some luck. Sooner or later you will be back on top regardless of whatever happens.

Much respect for making it out there Joey, I’ve thought about the scenario of living without a homestead, it is frightening to me, sort of like fearing the unknown. I don’t think I would make it, I deal with pretty bad incontinence from a medical condition and pissing myself regularly I guess is my main concern if I didn’t have access to rest areas. At this point though, as working for the man becomes less and less viable, I think considering an alternative route from a steady 9-5 is almost a must. The maverick within me looks towards a path less controlled and with freer means. You’re a very good motivational or inspirational speaker I think and I’ve learned more from your channel about being resourceful than other sources for making it homeless. Another thing you can do is save up your money doing deliveries on a bike and either buy an older used car for cash or cash and a small loan. Then use the car to do deliveries and live in the car😎 I have a van I stay in and I have a car that I use to do deliveries.
Hey Joey, I've been living in a camper on a cheap lake lot I bought in nowhere, kansas, but it's against the HOA rules to live in a camper, and they are suing me. I settled with them, and I have to move my camper. I bought another lake lot at a different lake community, but they also don't let people live in campers there, so I'm just gonna use it as storage and live in a van between the two lake lots. So long as I'm not there full time at either one, they can't say I'm living there. I can't find anyone who will let me use their address on my license. I need a place where i can have my car titles and registrations sent to, and they won't let me use a P.O. box. What do people do in my situation do if they can't find an address to use?
Lots of times social service agencies will let you use their address. I had a friend who Catholic Social Services let use their address. I know this comment was from a while ago, but I hope this helps. ✌️

We can’t stay in any of the shelters we’ve seen as we are a married couple, and we (my husband and i) refuse to abandon or divorce each other. We are trying to figure out how to make money while homeless in a hotel to earn enough to get an apartment and then begin to pay off our ongoing medical debts. We don’t do drugs, we don’t drink, and we aren’t criminals.

I'm looking for ideas on how to make money while being homeless, but not so that I can get off the streets. It's so I can stay on the streets, but comfortably. Your advice to people to save money while living at a shelter, makes sense, but the second these people get into an apartment, all that money will be gone in just a few weeks' time, if not sooner. Then begins the rat race all over again of trying to stay off the streets. Rents are impossible to pay these days on a working-class salary. You need 2 jobs, at least, just to get by. Working day and night at a job(s) you hate just so you can spend maybe 4 hours a day in a crappy apartment does not makes sense. That money should be saved to get a vehicle if you don't already have one. There is safety, privacy, and shelter in a vehicle, and a place to keep one's belongings from being stolen or thrown away. I would never advise anyone to move to the city. Not even if I could afford a luxury apartment. All the griminess that exists in society multiplies in the city. I much rather look out my windows to see trees than people on tranq. Freedom, stress-free, clean living. Wishing you all the best.
You probably don't need a permit. You have a right to sell your art as long as you made it. If you're selling other people's art you might need a permit. I never let that vendor thing stop me. Most cops have no idea but if they were really being difficult I'd agree and then just move to one of my other spots.
Selling waters will pay someone’s rent? Selling of water on the freeway exit might pay for a weekend of fun at the casino but it’s not going to pay the thousands of dollars that it costs to live a normal life.

Will most people who are poor have access to food stamps. Speaking of if you were selling water for example you would actually be off the street. Because if you bought the big waters. The waters would be twice the amount that they are alone. Which means that you could literally make like 300. 300 is enough to stay at a place for 3 weeks. But you still have a bunk bed and stuff. Like seriously even the lowest level you still can find way. Also another thing. Anyone that knows if you have a bus pass. You can make money off of the bus pass. Because all you have to do is have someone pay you less than what the bus pass is. For a one ride. Less than the one ride on the bus. You swipe that card for them and then they get on the bus and you do that over and over and over again. I mean like when you don't have bus fare for poor people. That's a major thing that many of us can do. Is literally like five or six people on the bus for free so that you can get another pass the next day or month.
I feel like my only talent is taking photos, but havent done anything with it to date. But I think uber, lawncare, snow shoveling, daycare, cleaning house, newspaper delivery, haircutting, , home mechanic??, home carpentry, ,, sell on facebook, scrapping metal, its good if you can do these things. Also not sure if govt will give u money when homeless??

but have you gotten a food handlers card and became a master chef ? some say resturants are the best ...some have shanties for you to sleep in
