    Always a pleasure to watch you work and experiment. Your unique insights and lighthearted commentary always make me smile. This piece takes me back to standing in the ocean in The Bahamas with its especially clear water and taking in all the beautiful ocean colors!

    Yet another fantastic video Annemarie !.
    To answer your question about how/why the mixing bubbles expel themselves so quickly and effectively when you stop stirring : we include a special Air Release agent in the MasterCast 1-2-1 formulation that gets to work as soon as you stop mixing. That is why the air bubbles "fizz" in front of your eyes and pop by themselves without needing heat.
    I believe we are the only resin manufacturer who does this. Makes life a little easier !.

      @annemarieridderhof  7 лет назад +5

      Thank you Aram ...that`s why I can stir like a crazy woman and the bubbles are gone when I pour. Good stuff LOL.

    Hi Annemarie, Wanted to share with you, for removing overflow resin from the back of work. No need to sand down if you heat the end of a stanley window scraper and push it under the resin it will lift off. the stanley sharp end needs to be quite hot. Its a lot quicker and tidier than sanding. I paint the back afterwords just for appearances. Hope this helps

    Nice one Annemarie. Instead of sanding down the edges, just remove the tape around 3 hours after the pour. The edges will sort of smooth ina round curve.

    I have worked with resin pours for over 20 years. Now adding paint to it, that will be fun. To get the resin to pour even on the last coat I saw your coat was not level. Level at the beginning on the table or surface you stand the painting on of course correcting will make for a level pour. Two I would wait for 15 minutes before the first fire allows the air and flow to even out and the trapped bubbles will rise to the surface than go in and raise torch so that you are a foot off the surface the carbon monoxide will clear more bubbles. The heat can actually makes bubbles. I am surprised you have not torched or scarred the surface. You can work the piece to up to and 1 hour in and a half. Yes beating it like an egg traps more air in the resin a slow stir turn not moving up and down with a wider tool will be better. The clearer you get your last pour the more depth with in the resin. Did you say the "ocean" pour was on plexi my head just exploded with ideas. Thank you !!!!!! sue

    I noticed that you do not sand in between layers.... Is that just a myth that if you dont the layers will separate ? I have doing this because the art resin website recommended it. Really love to know because if not I have been creating more work for myself!!! Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

      Linda Rose Tennant , Pouring medium at final layer looks beautiful but it's never gets hard like the resin. After years you can push it in a litle.

I haven't done pours of any kind so I'm just trying to decide which option to go with before I get into ordering materials. If anyone has advice or have tried it, feel free to lt me know :).
