First road test Sprintex Supercharged V-Rod Muscle in 2017

  • After Final installation and lots of tuning I took the bike out and was pleased with the results ... 158 HP at 8600 (I decided to not wring it out to 9200) if you look carefully you can see the boost gauge reach about 11 pounds (far right gauge). You can also see the shift lights installed to light at 8800 rpm by my friend in Holland Angelo. He also did the modified gauge cluster in laser cut stainless steel and installed the gear indicator.
    The supercharged acts a lot like a vacuum secondary and under part throttle on the freeway at 75-80 their is 0 psi of boost ... confirmed with both the analog gauge and a more recently added digital version that is easier to read while riding in a “spirited” fashion.

    Looks like it doesn’t hurt the Streetability at all. Seems to be nice and smooth power delivery.

      It really is … kind of like a vacuum secondary on an old Rochester quadrajet

    Is this bone stock motor ? 11 psi on stock internal? Or a modified engine , fuel injectors, cams, fuel pump etc...? and how reliable is the beast so far?

      Yes it is bone stock internals except for an upgraded clutch assembly with a centrifugal torque assembly that help increase torque holding capability. So far 12,000 miles and getting ready to do first plug change after install. Once tuned it has been a very reliable and trouble free unit.

    Love that gauge cluster, what’s the power and torque with the sprintex?

      Only ran it to 8800 and it was still climbing but I simply wanted a fun toy that was reliable. At the wheel 158 HP at 8800 and 101 lb ft 5100 rpm. I would need to go back and find the dyno info but that is what I recall.

      @@350tiger is the engine otherwise stock? I’ve heard crazy high numbers if you drop the compression. One guy posted a dyno run to RUclips where it hit 230HP!!

      It has been a long while ago now it was 158 HP at 8500 and still increasing (we had more rpm up to 9500 but I was not interested in PEAK values it was reliability) and as I recall torque was 119 lb ft but I would have to hunt for the Dyno results. If you are interested in a supercharge Fredy Ee in Estonia has developed a much cleaner install list for the VRod and I would encourage you to seek him out. I purchased my Sprintex through him

    What’s the top speed?

      Top speed is limited to gearing and RPM and it the same as stock at about 142 MPH but gets there waaaay faster ! Made 158 HP at 8500 RPM and still climbing on the dyno, likely would be 165 HP at 9200 were we to take it to redline on the chassis dyno. My option was to not repeatedly thrash it to redline on the chassis dyno.

      I missed the question about the gauge cluster ... it is from DutchRod LED and has a restyled face and shift light in the eyes of the skull along with gear indicator. Very nice piece 😎
