I don’t care how people hunt who hunts public who hunts private BUT part of his statements were contradictory. Buying a 4k electric bike, mount bike, having a motor boat and kayak, waders and hunting every hood state every year is a rich man’s game. He’s in it for the sport and thrill and this whole notion that public is overcrowded is partially due to people like this going to 3-5 different states a year and tagging a buck. I have no problem with it just believe that recently a lot of people have this preconceived notion that public land is being over crowded by the average hunter and the better hunters are more deserving then others which i’ll add HE did not push that message. Although i will disagree with the idea that the lazy hunter is buying a 4 thousand dollar E-bike to hunt anyone willing to spend that much on a piece of gear is just as deserving as someone like me that has done 10 miles in a day. Altogether I’m liking this page liked this interview i eat all of this information up. just wish people would stop this covid boom of hunters talk and point out the facts. and to me the facts are anyone willing to put the time in is deserving to hunt and if the toxic money hunting industry weren’t pushing leases every year people would still be able to hunt private. everyone blames covid as if covid just brought random people that NEVER wanted to hunt a day in there life and personally i strongly disagree.
Thanks Devin for your thoughts! Covid is not the main cause, but it did add to a bulge of hunters in the system. The lack of private land as discussed is a big driver, pushing more guys into public land. I wouldn’t say you have to have all these accessories but the reality is, it takes effort to get away from other hunters, and these things can help you do that, but everyone has a budget you have to figure. Things to think about for sure
