I've looked at every live video of Deep Purple and Blackmore playing Child In Time... He's Never Once duplicated the solo or even attempted to. You killed it Brother! You killed it! That was awesome!!
Google translator I once read an interview with Blackmore. He said that in the studio during recording, he played the solo on the second try. He got it wrong the first time and had to do it again. Just pure improvisation. He also said that he first heard this solo after about 30 years. After recording the album "In Rock" he did not listen to it. He always improvised at concerts.
I'm a great fan of Ritchie Blackmore and his band's Deep Purple an Rainbow. Think this Child in Time guitar solo is one of the best ever created. You played it technically very well and even got that same feel as Ritchie has in his playing and that is really commendable!
L'un des plus beaux solos de l'histoire du rock sinon le plus beaux et le plus prenant !!! One of the most beautiful solos in the history of rock, if not the most beautiful and the most captivating !!!
I loved that pick slide, this is it how l want to play it,but just started to learn.l watched some other videos, but the feelings came through your video much more

very nice, congratulations, you did this solo with the right guitar, everybody knows Blackmore plays Strats, but this solo was done with a Gibson like yours, thanks to share. Saludos desde Buenos Aires.
Huge like! Sounds great with the P90s as well. I haven't heard the original some time ago but it felt like you added just a hint of your own thing in there which I liked very much!
Thanks DogwithtwoBones! When I've bought this guitar I wasn't sure if I should take it with P90s or not, I told me I could change for humbuckers later if I didn't like it. Fortunately I like and it's a good thing because it's impossible to change them because of their size and the cut in the guitar body!
Yeah it didn't sound right, p90s are smaller then humbuckers, but I am glad you like them. I never had one but at some point I will have to get one. Maybe a goldtop les paul.
The only problem I have with the P90s is there's no height adjustment and the dog ears are to closed to the strings. It's annoying sometimes when you play above the neck pickup.
Thanks Clarke! I wish I could do the whole LP but first I need to find all the songs without the guitar tracks. Child in Time and Speed King was the only ones I had..
And when I hear people claim Clapton is the best, last I checked Clapton never wrote nor played any solo quite as complex as this one 🔥 Nicely done brother! You made Ritchie very proud here 👏🔥
Like others have said - this is the best cover on RUclips. True to the original, but with your own flair added - just like Blackmore would have done, who never played any of his own solos note for note and always improvised. I can't imagine the level of work that went into this. Bravo. Are you able to share how you connected your AC30 between guitar and Marshall?
Thank you darkCheer, that's very kind! :) To answer your question: I have a "Line Out" on my AC30 where I plug the Marshall. This way I only use the preamp part of the Vox. For a better sound I should have used a mic in front of the AC30 and plug it in the Marshall with all the volume knobs at 3 o'clock but it would have been a bad thing for my ears.
@@mowjay Awesome - thank you for sharing! Yes, a 200W marshall at 3 o'clock - my goodness that must be as loud as standing next to a jet engine taking off! You got a great sound, nonetheless, and are using exactly same setup as Ritchie used I believe!
@@sega62s It's been a long time so I'm not really sure but I think I used a treble booster (style Hornby Skewes) and probably a fuzz pedal. Between the pedals and the Marshall Major there is also a Vox AC30 used as a preamp.
@marcosmonteleone6307 I sweep the 3 first notes (3times), then I play the rest in aternate picking starting by an upstroke. So it gives: down down down (3times from G string to E string), up down up (B string), down (G string).
That was a real pleasure, but, how did you tune your wonderful guitar ? If it isn't an ancestral secret of course ! ;) And again, thanks for the legacy !
The amp is a 200W Major and there is no attenuator. I can't remember the exact settings but I think it was approximately Volume on 3 and Master Volume on 2. There is also a Vox AC30 which I use just for the preamp connected between the guitar and the Marshall but we can't see it on the video. Thanks for the comment!
@@Cook9698 Thanks! The AC30 is a great amp, it sounds completely different from the plexi. I love both for their differences. Concerning the Major it's difficult to find a 200W attenuator and I don't even know if it's possible because it's a ultra linear amp. On this video I play with ear plugs because it sounds too loud, that's why I'm building an isolation cabinet for the next ones!
@@mowjay yea i bet lol! 200W is what Page used back in 75 for stadiums i bet the feedback that gets when cranked is insane. I have a class 5 marshall and its honestly too loud for inside above like 5
