i wish IJN Nagato had been preserved as a museum ship like USS Texas, she was the only ijn battleship still floating after 1945. I'm working on a video on Japanese Army Vessels ( Separate from IJN ) like river Gunboats and army conversion aircraft carriers.

Unfortunately USA don't want to preserve an enemy battleship. So they nuke her, one is to test the effectiveness of none direct impact of nukes, two is out of spike, they intend to sink her to show the Japanese that US navy is the boss now.

@@ihatecabbage7270 i agrees with u bro. but the funny part of trying to nuke the enemy old BBs is that some of the ships armors are so well build they just refused to sink as easy as they think!!some even still steadily afloat after suffering 2-3 direct hits from not just nukes and hidrogen bomb tests, even from latest experimental anti ship torpedoes, bombs and even from rocket hits too!they had to blasted the unsink BBs with guns and torpedos to sink it quickly before it become a dangerous hazards if it floats into commercial ships route.

I was hoping when I saw the title that this video would be in a format that broke down the life and eventual death of each of the Japanese Battleships. I am fascinated by the old Fuso and Ise class because of the Pagoda (JENGA) style masts. How did those giant masts not make the ship unseaworthy ? A sharp turn and as top heavy as those had to be, how in the world did they not capsize. If you decide to do a video about the aircraft carriers maybe you could show the footage and mix it with commentary about each ship even have videos of survivors from the battles or digital animation of the battles that the ships met their demise. The music was ok but it was not engrossing. My father fought in the US Navy during the war and in the pacific. I have the upmost respect for the Japanese Navy and their bravery and so did he. He would tell me that War is Hell and during the war he hated those people but feared and respected them all the same. As the years past the hate melted away to a moving admiration for the courage of the Japanese soldier. He would say that we won the war because Japan picked a fight on a gamble. Punched a Giant in the nose believing the giant to be a scared little boy. But it turned out to be a relentless terrible monster who ate them alive. If the war would not have ended when it did and mainland Japan would have been invaded. It is quite likely that a whole generation of Japanese would have been eliminated and quite a large swath of American men also. If Japan does the same thing in 2023.... America caves within 3 years of fighting. We don't have the stomach for it anymore we have proved that in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan. But I doubt Japan would have the stomach to do it either.

i like IJN ships designs from Pre-Dreds era to their latest ww2 Battleships.they are all handsome ships, good firepowers and overall designs and technologies used. unlike the Russians navy early Pre-Dreds and BBs.Especially from 1800's to late 1930's era. Most of the russians Pre-Dreds are so ugly, absurdly looking and not as balanced let alone as hi-tech as the IJN enjoyed at that time.
'Battle of Tsushima' is the proof!!The IJN managed to hv such good ships because of their co-op with the British shipyards and their willingness to learn everything from the Brits, french, germans and even u.s in the early developement of their Navy.not like the russians that are so busy fighting each other, political ideologies, turmoils and revolts upon revolts which affected their economies and their armies and navies developements at the same time.
    BUT!!
as handsome and as powerful as the IJN Battleships were..
(NOT just the IJN BBs.but other country BBs too!!)
at the start of the attack at pearl harbour all Battleships has become obsolete no matter how new and hi tech their BB was!!ww2 marks the start of Carrier wars.Carriers were the main character and reign supreme.sadly the BBs were relegated to secondary duties(as baby sitter😢😓) AA gun escorts and for shore bombardment duties.
    If im not mistaken..
The Battle of cape matapan were the last battleships gun duel between Italian Regia Marina fleet and Royal British navy fleet.
After ww2 ended almost all BBs were used as liberty ships to transfer troops back to their homeland for a while, some were mothballs for future used, some to be sunk as testbed for new weapons testing but most went straight to ship breakers to be salvaged and scrapped!only some BBs were lucky enough to be rescued and kept as museum ships that we can still see and visited today.
