Best video ever! The fact that you did a visual walk through was so very helpful. I had been stumbling upon the question at 11:00 where it asked if you’ve visited before. I received an EVisa in 2020 but of course we all know what happened during the year of the pandemic. Your video showed that you can just select “no” and it won’t require you to enter the old EVisa number below. I wasn’t sure if I had to enter an old EVisa that I never got to use and long since expired due to Covid (I didn’t want to cause confusion or questions). I tried contacting their help desk but got different answers. Your video literally answered my question! Thank you!!!

Good presentation. It CAN be as straightforward as you suggest but submitting a pdf of passport page less that 300kb caused me enormous difficulty and I am not alone looking online. If you are visiting a second time you are required to list all the places visited previously plus the address of first stop. You are also required to list all countries visited in last 10 years. If you save and come back to complete the application the question about whether you have grandparents with Pakistani connections always defaults back to ‘yes’. If the answer is no make sure you change it!

It does NOT defalt to "Yes," there is a pop-up that you must close then you can switch to "no," try another browser, you probably have pop-ups blocked--that locks you out as the system wants you to click OK on the darned pop-up.

I have a question. Do you know if it's fine to have visa photo 50mm x 50mm and use it to upload for visas application to countries with requirements 35mm x 45mm? Even after watching your helpful video and gathering all the materials, this took me three hours and 20 minutes to fill out, upload, submit, and pay. SMH. There is conflicting/confusing info on the site about what size JPG photo it will a accept, and I guarantee you your PDF is too big. So be ready and be able to reduce it drastically! Also, Fun Fact: the payment site doesn't accept American Express (only Mastercard and Visa), and it won't accept a Virtual Credit card number. The quickest and easiest option is paying by PayPal. Lastly during the "April to June period" a 30 day Visa is only $10. I applied today April 1 for my trip in a couple weeks. But the way they have it worded, I have no idea if that means the $10 fee ends June 1 or June 30.

Hey, thanks for the info! Do I understand correctly that once the visa is granted and issued (roughly 72 hours post-submission) is when the visa time starts? Or does it start at the date that you declare you'll be arriving? Of course it would be ideal if it started at the date you declare you'll be arriving,.. because otherwise I'd want to push the application submission as close to the date of departure as possible (to gain as much time as possible to stay). This would even lead me to be hesitant to book the flight, you know? Who knows, maybe its rejected and you're out of luck with the cost of the flight and also your life plans have to change, etc.

We payed via paypal, $40 which i guess equals around £30? Is that it for the payment process or have we missed something? Also, do you just print out the pdf which says the evisa was granted and take that to the airport? THANKS!

Thanks for the very helpful video. I have a couple of questions. What happens if you don't know the port of arrival when you're filling out the form? Let's say that I put in Delhi but arrive in Chennai, will that be a problem? Similarly, I don't know the date of arrival yet. Will it be a problem if I arrive on a different date than the one I select? And finally, I'm applying with a US passport. Is that the same as the national ID number or not? Thanks in advance!

    • @AlwaysonaJourney
      @AlwaysonaJourney  2 месяца назад

While it's ideal to know your port of arrival beforehand, if you're unsure, you can generally input a likely port (like Delhi) as a placeholder. It's unlikely to be a major issue if you end up arriving at a different one. Immigration officials will be able to adjust the information accordingly. Similarly, you can estimate your arrival date. If you need to change your plans, it's usually not a problem. The main thing is to ensure your visa is valid for the actual date of your arrival.

Getting the passport PDF to under 300kb (it will NOT accept an upload even 1kb over 300kb) was grueling. My eventual solution on Mac: used Adobe Lightroom to edit, exported as JPEG first, setting maximum size to 290kb in export dialog box (where it can be set), opened that JPEG in Preview, exported as PDF (where max kb size can't be set). Couldn't get it under 300kb otherwise. So basically, get your JPEG under 300kb then export to PDF.

You don't necessarily need to book a hotel before applying for an Indian tourist visa. While some information sources may say it's mandatory, the official Indian visa application process doesn't require a confirmed booking.
However, having proof of accommodation can strengthen your application.
If you're unsure about your visa approval, consider booking a hotel with a free cancellation policy. Many hotels allow cancellations up to a day or two before arrival, minimizing risk.

Hi there! My flight to india has a connection in doha airport will i need any type of visa for that aswell or no? And does the visa start from the day issued or when you enter the country as im not sure when to book it for my trip starting from 23 july

If you apply for a 30 day visa it starts from the day you enter India. If you apply for a one year visa, it starts from the date that it's approved.
A visa for a Doha airport connection depending on your layover duration and nationality. Here's what to consider:
Qatar Airways Transit Visa: If you're flying with Qatar Airways and have a layover of at least 5 hours, you can apply for a free 96-hour (4 day) Qatar Transit Visa to explore Doha [Visit Qatar].
Short Layover: If your connection is shorter than 5 hours, you likely won't need a visa as you'll stay within the airport's international transit area.
To be certain, check Qatar's visa requirements for your nationality

The part that confuses me is the upload photo section. I read somewhere that you are NOT allowed to take a picture of your passport and crop it and use that as the uploaded photo. When I had my U.S. passport photo taken I was given two 2x2 photo copies. One of which I sent to the passport office so they could put it on my passport and mail it back. The other 2x2 copy I still have and it is the exact same picture that’s on my passport. Can I use the same pic that’s on my passport for the photo upload? Also, does scanning the 2x2 photo automatically make it JPEG and the right KB size? Lastly, I have a small mole on my chin. Do I really need to put that as an identifier? 😂

In my case, I took a photo with my phone, edited it in Photoshop, and changed the background. Andrew did the same for his passport photo - he used his phone to take the picture and then edited it with Photoshop.
To answer your question more generally, you can scan a photo and use it as a JPEG file. However, you'll likely need to edit it to meet the requirements, such as adjusting the background and resizing it to the specific pixel dimensions required for passport photos. Most photo editing software can handle these tasks.
Lastly for you mole on your chin if you can see it on you photo you don't need to identify.

3:00 confuses me a bit. On the website it says a plain or white background is ok. But when scroll down it says a white background is not ok.

I used a white background for my application.
