From a standpoint of sheer complexity, this watch is an outstanding marvel of craftsmanship. Those at Zenith who designed this embodiment of intricacy deserve to be lauded. However, as a guy who is starting to gravitate towards more aesthetic simplicity in my watch collecting, the dial seems overly busy for my preference. Still it is a technical achievement nonetheless. Thank you Teddy for this review.
Spoke like a true collector. Even if it doesn’t fit your current style or preferences you can recognize a watch for what it is. To much hate in this community sometimes wish everyone had that point of view
This is exactly why a watch should be more than just technical specifications of its achievements …Technical specs but little soul is with many of these watch brands aspire to similar to grand seiko..All crazy specs but very little soul
Magnificent review and photography Teddy! I really enjoyed it. I have this exact watch and it's a joy to wear. Light case, manageable size and fun to chronograph. Your review makes me love it even more! The case size is deceiving. It wears smaller since there's practically no lugs.
Such a great watch. In my mind the one and only fault with this watch is that it does not feature the quick release strap system featured of the newer female defy watches. This watch looks amazing on rubber, leather, and the bracelet so it would be great to switch between the three of them on the fly. I actually shot some some video with this same watch on the blue alligator and was blown away but I didn’t not edit my video yet because iv just been busy and not on top of it as I should be.
As a person with a rather large chronograph and stopwatch collection, I say any manually timed precision finer than 1/20 second is just generating random numbers. That said, I could rationalize buying this watch way before a Rolex.
Probably my favorite company ! Lucky enough to get this watch in my hands for my own channel but did not edit the video. I almost bought a defy classic for my own collection but decided to go with an Omega Seamaster instead
I love almost everything about this timepiece - the two exceptions being the case shape and lugs. Don't get me wrong, I'd still take one if it was given to me. The macro shots in this video are off the charts good and really show off the timepiece!
I like mine BUT the clasp digs into my wrist if you look closely there are two rails that stick up against the wrist.. can’t wear for long days it’s not comfortable sadly…
Teddy you should check out the Titoni Seascoper 600m. In-house ball bearing rotor with 72hrs power reserve, Ceramic Bezel , helium valve escapement , transparent case back and the bracelet quick adjustment is just unbelievable. All these for just a small amount of money.
It is going to be difficult to give a direct comparison to this as 1/100th of a second measurement is typically something done by high horology brands (FPJ as an example has some pieces using this). If you are looking for just the case style I would stick with the Defy. Defy classic is a great watch and the skeleton version is very much similar in terms of aesthetics but is a three hander. If you just like the case style, I would jump down to something like a Maurice Lacroix or a Tissot with their new PRX just to get a taste. However, this watch truly is unique which is not something you can say about as many watches as you think sadly.
Thank you both. Not many places would be so helpful and informed than the watch community. I love these videos and in a time where we are unable to visit watch sellers these videos are brilliant. Keep it up. Gareth from the UK
That watch will turn heads no doubt. This does not have a vertical clutch, correct? Because being able to run that 1/100 chronograph continually would be a pretty badass! 🤙
@@WatchUnwind Thank man, you have a great channel. I have a small request for one of your videos... It's regarding watch servicing or how to keep a large watch collection in good shape to hold its value in the long run. Is a safe with humidity control enough regardless of where you live?
@@RaulEdu33 that safe sounds like it should do the trick. Also of course servicing is important when due if you wear them regularly. Also I tell people not to be overly cautious when wearing watches because they are meant to be worn but also don’t wear them like a fool when you have on a watch be a little mindful of what your teaching for or how your swinging it around
Having now owned this watch for 3+ months, I’ve found the bracelet to be very poor and uncomfortable. I’ve just ordered a Zenith blue rubber strap and will getting this watch off the bracelet as soon as the rubber strap arrives. Apart from that, awesome watch
If it's aesthetically too big, that's one thing, but for what it's worth, this thing wears surprisingly well. The integrated design means that it will fit almost any men's wrist

I just purchased a long time grail watch of mine. The Omega Aqua terra 38mm, I was heavily debating between the omega and a GS SBGA413 but decided to buy the blue dial Omega instead. Let me know if I made a huge mistake 😂
I think you made a good choice. Omega is a hell of a brand and their watches are awesome. I recently got a “grail” of mine own as it’s by far the most expensive in my collection. It was an Omega Seamaster 300m. GS could arguably have a bit better finishing/detailing but “a bit” is the key word.Omega is a serious watch maker and amazing brand to be proud of. I think overall it feels better at least for myself to own an Omega than a GS
They put logo on the crystal to force you to buy a in-house crystal when it breaks. Great looking watch, but i kinda want the Zenith Daytona. But I might go defy.
There's no "best" in Haute Horology. These are not daily wear (utility) watches, but special occasion timepieces that mainly sit in a drawer as investments.

@@waldo4133 Well put.
Woah, looks insane! I love watches where you can see the movements like that.
They’re called skeleton watches

Great macro shots of this master timepiece. I would instantately switch to a rubber strap though ;)
Awesome video! I was waiting on this one and seeing you on your wrist I will keep it at the top of my list!
Incredible piece, flawless! They have some of the best watches out there! Too bad they are underrated! Cheers.

i like that they are underarrated, for those who know only..
@@Μανος13 the fact they are underrated is good because they are available for cheap. You could buy 4 of these for the price of a Daytona.
Observe the chronograph seconds subdial not resetting correctly at 5:55. Seems to be a common problem with this movement.
WOW, I thought my blue on blue Omega aqua-terra caliber 9605 was advanced. Great review Teddy. ♥️🔥⌚
I'm not a chrono guy.. but that's obviously quite an engine!
Slick looking watch. i think i prefer the non skeletonized version, as it is more suitable for everyday wear.
In person it’s very surprisingly easy to read
I have my eyes on the Zenith Defy Classic as my holy grail!
Get it !

Would be very nice to see a review of the new ceramic Skylines here on your channel 🔥

Agreed
What a fantastic watch , i am definitely a Zenith fan.
Why Zenith do not use the Defy Invertor movement?.
Very nice watch!-unique and high quality.
This may be my down to earth grail watch
I love how a $12,000 watch it considered down to earth
@@yurrickhunt9707 Well, I could afford it if I saved for a few years. But a $200,000 watch I could never purchase with sound mind.
Virtually flawless.

Great watch. Sad thing is I have a tiny wrist and it is not for everyone.
wassup teddy!!! 😎✌️
Its weird why is the second wheel not moving when the chronograph is on
Beautiful watch. Can you recommend anything slight more affordable?
The Zenith Defy Classic. Smaller case size similar braclet/strap, case shape, finishing. Thinks of it as the lite version of this watch

I'm not sure about the clutch, but the chrono only runs for 45 minutes on a full charge, and requires manual winding. So not very doable.
Hi Teddy can the long second hand runs normally instead of sprinting like crazy? Thanks
Well...that's a new grail for me...
4:30 The fan shape hands at 9oclock, is that a subdial or is it just decorative?
Small seconds

Does this watch exist with a black or dark case?
Everything else the same color.

Was considering this watch and was leaning towards the rubber strap
Hope it works out!
Rubber strap pinches a bit but what a gorgeous piece to look at all day ,everyday
Just had a chance to buy this for 5k brand new, but the 44mm size is just too big

Combien coûte cette merveille ?👍🎩

Veri good
I thought, the best was a lange & sohne double split chronograph, wasn't it?
And the most advance is their triple split, isn't it?
Not for the money...

The second hand is making me nauseous.....
Same, idk if I could do it lol
That continuous hand is making me nauseous.... this watch is a no.
😀
Wow it's massive, way way to big
A bit gaudy and ugly imo
Awesome watch, albeit prone to dating rapidly. The douchey use of future tense by the narrator still nauseates me.
