Lol. Yea, as a Packers fan, I don't really know what a genuinely horrible team looks like. I have seen 3 SB appearances in my life for the Packers and 2 wins. I live that the Lions can finally see some shine. It's like the Chiefs. They were essentially horrible. I do think you should get ready for it to seem normal. Like now, Chiefs fans aren't shocked at how good the team is. It wears off. So enjoy it for now.

Die-hard Lions fan since the late '90s but I can only speak for myself. The Matt Patricia years really put me at my all-time low. I truly had no hope that the Lions would ever be good. But when I watched DC's introductory press conference I just saw something. I LOVED the fact that he spoke with passion, that he literally said out loud that he didn't care about coach speak. I'm from a small town hours away from Detroit but even I knew this guy was a great fit for the Lions and that city. Turns out, he was the PERFECT fit. But none of it would be possible if not for Sheila Hamp-Ford for taking over ownership and hiring Brad Holmes, Chris Spielman, and probably so many others. THANK YOU SHEILA!!!

Thinking automatic that either coordinator will leave Detroit is wild. I understand money, but from their perspective they're making good money, and each coordinator loves his players. Why would they leave? I'm not saying they won't, but it's a reach to say their gone next year. You’re sure correct about the great coaches mostly being defensive guys - either as players or thru the coaching ranks.
I worked with Alex Sandusky’s brother Bernie. So we talked a lot of football. Alex told Bernie that when Don Shula was playing, every time he came off the field he was standing on the sideline with the coaches, listening, taking notes, asking questions. Eventually, the coaches were asking Shula questions.
I think I read that Tom Landry was the same way. The other defense guys were resting, Landry and Shula were learning the next phase of their careers. They had the internal drive to succeed in life.

Why do we have this idea that someone who is perfect as a coordinator is going to make a great head coach? It's frustrating but I understand.
I'd really love to see a coaching group come together as a package deal. Let the Lions have 3 "head coaches". One of them is the executive head coach, another is the defensive head coach, and the third is the offensive head coach. Roles and responsibilities do not change. But the recognition and compensation do.
I know that is a pipe dream. Johnson and Glenn are gone. If that's what they want, then I am happy for them. It makes me sad though to think that a great coordinator feels the need to do a job they are not meant to do in order to get the recognition they deserve.

I'm pretty confident that we'll be just fine just like the Patriots were for 20 straight years, clearly Billichek was great at teaching his coordinators how to coach and teaching his positional coaches how to be coordinators once the coordinators moved on to head coach jobs. With how many assistant to positional coaches Campbell has, he has a lot of coaches he's mentoring right now! He's grooming his positional coaches to be coordinators, and has assistant positional coaches to mentor behind the positional coaches to fill their role once they get promoted to coordinators!

Ben Johnson will not pick the bears. Because he will face the lions twice a year. I see jets, cowboys,or jags.

Lions will get beat when they least expect it. It happens to all these top teams, just hope its not the playoffs.

You're lying. Both myself and David (Detroit Lions Forum, but now Motor City Mania) have ALWAYS been for Goff AND Dan Campbell!
    Plus the Lions aren't bullies.
Bullies go against the written rules, intentionally. That includes having refs favour you.
The Lions still don't have refs favouring them.
Since when is playing every second according to the rules between the field's lines being a bully?
Also, the team rests starters too soon.
