Thank you very much for this video. I've just ordered the same rag joint to replace on my 97 C1500 so I can get an alignment, original joint too 25 years old. After replacing tie rods, ball joints, control arm bushings, idler and pitman arms, everything save for the gearbox lol, this is the last piece to finally bring my steering back to like new. Thank you again for this video.
I have a 1975 Chevy C30 crew cab pickup that has the steering colum shaft with the 1 inch diameter upper steering column shaft that is solid and has the spleen's on it
I think he says it's 2 3/4", and in the description he lists Lares part #205 and has a link to Amazon, myself I ordered the same one but from Rockauto for about $18. I know your comment was from 3 months ago but if you're still waiting for info I hope this helps ya.
thanks for taking time and showing us a how to . I think your dog wants to take the wheel and drive it like a rock , this is the beast I'm doing the rag joint on today the body work is done and now for the little stuff. ruclips.net/video/-BDUuHcDqW4/видео.html

What about the coupler nearest the fire wall?
Not to poke fun but how did you not suspect the box and notice this before you rebuilt the rest of the steering system
What are you doing to address the rusty frame?
Nothing, its just some surface rust. All the Old trucks do that here and never get worse.
What size is the right size rag joint and where did you get it? And how much was it?
