No lie the art looks ai generated poorly.
this game is a nightmare, draw system weapons and characters and the crafting system is a disaster.
you need atleast 3 dups of each hero to make it usable in arena or the hard content, weapons banner you spend thousands of gems to pull exclusive gear just to findout it have unusable stats for that character.
friendly advice to anyone reading this stay away from this game, nightmare RNGs behind that pretty look
I'm currently playing it and it is wonderful.
Yeah, I don't play Limbus Company, but I hear that the alternates you roll for in gacha provide units with different skillsets. Glad to see Browndust2 do something similar
Perfect tactical JRPG game. You are right about it is "hard" due to the tactical aspect of it. Fun to play for sure. I wish this game will get more coverage from a lot of content creator.
I'm getting a lot of Another Eden vibes from this game. That one lets you beat the entire game with the free characters, and they give some pretty OP ones to boot. Looking forward to diving into this game and seeing what it has to offer!
I've played Brown Dust 1 (now renamed Brave Nine) and the battle system has a lot of similarities and theres also a lot of returning character which is cool. I liked the first game but I got bored of it as theres not much to look at besides the good character artwork. This game seems to have stepped it up though and seems way more interesting. Love the old school JRPG vibe instead of your typical tap and click gacha game.
Never played their previous gacha but i can tell you almost everyone is up and arms over the gearing progression on reddit. Exclusive character gears can only be gotten from gacha, mainstat and substats are rng. Imagine pulling a 1% UR character weapon only to have the worst stats than you were previously using, enhancing failure for them are expensive. At this point it may as well have a chance to degrade or destroy your 200 pull item on a failure. Everything else is good though but their UI for dailies, weeklies and battlepass definitely needs a redesign.
@@Vivi_Strike in the previous prequel, the weapon/equipment for each character is also need to be gacha. But its just use normal currency you can get easily. That change here. And funnily enough their UI on the prequel before is also a problem that get change later.

At first i didnt want to try this game, because i thought the Battle would run fully automated after selecting abilities and positions once but after your next turn starts, you can reselect abilitys!
you did change my mind, and im excited! gonna do the thing i did on my second hsr acc: play the game without gacha! (i allow the infinite reroll pull tho) ^^ and see if i can survive 6 months without using gacha currency ^^
my fav mobile game atm , its beautiful doesnt feel very gatcha and f2p friendly af. feels like a regular rpg im playing, story is beautiful. art omg.
Does the story have a power fantasy like in Nikke? Like a cummander riding through the ranks.

Ugh! Why do so many Japanese games make these gorgeous characters then reduce them to chibis when you actually utilize them? I want to like this game so much. I know it's good. But I cant with the chibi art style. Great review!
Yeah I hate Chibi style too. Lots of people do, probably as many who like it.

hey Stix, i was just playing the game as I watched your video, and was coincidentally in the sewer stage, and I don't know if they changed something, if it's an emulator issue, or just graphic settings on your end, but that stage looks much better on my phone, each lamp gives off a warmer light, and there are much more shadows all around, looks great! If you think the game looks amazing, try it on your phone (especially that sewer map), it will probably look even better!
Awesome video and content info! I also especially enjoyed the dance at the end of the video, haha. Having said that, I’m an orca (we eat whales), and the lack of a need to spend is honestly somewhat disappointing. I’m not sure what I’m going to do with myself if I can’t swipe. 😂
I’m sure there’ll be plenty to spend on! You just get several max rarity characters for free which is great news for free players!
I got one shot in the fist story end boss. The warlock boss. My characters were all level 25+. Is that normal to get one shot so early on in the game?
I've seen other videos and during combat, there are character skill cutscenes, short animations, I don't see any in this video, did you turn them of? or did they remove them during beta?
Yeah, you can enable/disable them. I had seen enough of them over my few days haha.

I recently started playing Brave Nine/Brown Dust 1 in anticipation for this.
Hopefully Levia is a possible pick on infinite summon and is as good in bd2 as she is in bd1.
if she's even in bd2 of course
maybe not in launch but theyll definitely release her to bd2 since shes really popular in the main game specially her companion

I will definitely try this game once it comes out. I enjoy trying many of the games you recommend. Aether Gazer & Punishing Grey Raven where nice, played a couple of weeks and then stopped as they weren't my cup of tea. So I do value your opinion.

Never. I just go with what I get. I don't have the time to reroll haha.
Hah that's fair. There's to much in my gaming backlog. Right it's so much worse I got so much going on. Happy to see the infinite reroll option for sure. Definitely checking this out when I got time.

I played Brave Nive (formerly Brown Dust) since the first day. I saw the comunity form around it first hand and even participated in the tiny facebook tournaments for some time. I was very disapointed when they Neowiz made desitions that made well known comunity members and youtubers quit the game. I quit when they did the whole NFT thing and forgot about the game altogether. Im going to give the sequel a chance and pray that they don't make the same mistakes they did on the first one.

nope it's just not called Brown Dust globally the name was changed for global release, it's called Brave Nine globally I think
As a fellow player i can say that while the game's combat can be difficult, it is also rewarding in it's difficulty so every win also feels well deserved and not just handed to you
This reminds me of the Old Final fantasy tactics turn based rpg's while giving desgea vibes rlly Lovin the gameplay & art style overall. But i wonder is there a pvp system or will there be one?
There is PVP. Both actual PVP and PVE competitive modes

I've preregistered to this game already I didn't even notice until i watch this vid. Its good jrpg in my own thoughts about it and hopefully the story line is good. I've seen and played al ot of jrpg but this time i think this game is just something else but almost perfect. ( Ill definitely playing this, the game aesthetic is just so good )

Do you need to play the first one to udnesrstabd this game? I know it's a sequel, and after booting it up it implies you have some knowledge.
Will the first one is the only one you can play right now before game couldn't even launch properly. Jokes aside no, it's more like reboot or alternative reality version. There are references but game is very different.
If this game like the original Brown Dust, Celia is the only char that hit almost every tile. Overlevel Celia could be the key to breeze through early game mob, not boss killer though.

Romancing saga re has a similar thing to the costumes, but those so called "styles" are actually seperate gacha units. They still connect to be the same character though and upgrading the different styles makes the base character stronger

The graphics looks like a mix of Tree of Savior and Octopath. Really nice looking pixel art game that is very soft and subtle to look at, not to much hue and saturation.
I just started playing this. It’s the best gacha I’ve ever played. Not like I’ve played a lot tho. It’s like an old school jrpg with better graphics, voiceovers, effects, booba, etc that were possible at the time of those old school jrpgs.
Not sure what to say after what they did in the first one...........

I'm new and enjoying it a lot. It's fun to play, tactical like a chess (at least at the beginning) and beautifully nostalgic ambience. There's many resources with the events and stuffs to acquire things that I want. Seems like I'll stay for a while. :3
umm hey I have a question, how do you show all party members like, I got Lathel alone to walk around, I want to change the characters to roam around with,the game shows only Lathel unless it's like a cutscene, can you help?

You can press Q (where you'll choose alchemy, craft, etc.) and a option will appear at the top of your current character. Click there.
This will be your members that will show while walking in the field, off battle.

Wait its the sequel to brave 9? I used to play that religously, this looks pretty good, the character assest are def still there lol. Also kinda reminds me of Octopath traveler in a way, the story paths, how it has traditional jrpg functions out of combat, even the combat visuals.

8:30 Changing jobs mechanism is actually not new. It is derived from the job systems in Final Fantasy Tactics. Each person can change jobs (a.k.a. costumes in this game). It's just the same thing with a different packaging 😊
Summoners Wars also adopt similar mechanism, using one design with 4 variations (elements) along with different skill sets..

I just got MMORPG exhaustion for the past few months and I couldn't get the vibe and excitement I was looking for until BROWN DUST 2, It is very nostalgic and I want to take a break from MMORPG's and go for JRPG's turn based strategy gacha games.
About the story: do you need to play the first Brown Dust to understand it?
The first borwn dust was ftp friendly and i loved it, but i dropped it because AL took most of my time, unfortunately I won't play this game i'm already playing star rail
I came across this game in an ad and I couldn’t believe the graphics I’m going to give it a fair shake and if it gets to gatcha I will back off but so far seems amazing

tbh the current currency setting kinda wacky it's either you 1 turn the battle or your gold wallet gonna suffer from buying ingredients after mid game also reading and thinking very important so you not gonna get fuck*ed for example those 100% hp dmg knock back.
Neowiz??? Really, didn't know they are doing gacha as well (aa brave nine huh). Have several of their games on steam and they are great.

I'm a 51-year-old gamer who has been becoming very disheartened by Mobile gaming lately. I'm very excited by Brown dust too this game looks very very nice. Story driven, beautiful graphics, but not a phone killer.
I can't believe this is the same company, like they brought their absolute best this time.
