Jesus willing declines to know when He will return. The same Lord chooses to not remember repented sins. nothing is impossible with God. so glad you brought this out.
You are the perfect example of a humble man! I absolutely loved your teachings. It’s been hard finding Bible study videos that have explanations in the parables and scriptures.
Ii am really learning a lot and enjoying studying scripture along with the help of your videos. Thank you so much for doing these. I look forward to sharing what I’m learning with confidence and being able to talk with people about scripture and not feel completely clueless .
I don’t usually studying using my phone. I usually watch your videos on my tv and I am not able to leave comments or ask questions but I decided to get on my phone to let you know how much I appreciate your help. Thank you and God bless you and all that you do.
I appreciate all the time you put into this study. I really do. All the hours of study on the historical aspect must have taken a while. However I have a completely different understanding on this chapter. The key issue being that v.34 has thrown many off to believe everything Jesus is saying had to happen to the generation living at that time. This simply cannot be the case. "All these things" the persecutions, judgements, false prophets, the abomination of desolation, the signs in the heavens, Christ's final return, the gathering of the elect... these things did not take place in their lifetime. v.21 says "Such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will." You cannot suggest these 1st century historical events were worse than WWI, WWII, the Holocaust...?? The proper interpretation (I believe) is that v.34 is referring to the generation of people who will be here on earth during the final "birth pains" or when the tribulation begins. v.9-14 deal with the first half of the tribulation and 15-26 deal with the 2nd half or "great tribulation." You will find that if you read Mathew 24 in the context of dealing with end times events, along with Daniel, it parallels the book of Revelation and then you wont have trouble making sense of some verses like you have. I normally never make comments but just felt that this teaching is going to confuse many who are truly seeking understanding. Having said all that, at the end of the day, our eschatology is a secondary issue and not one believers should divide over. Thank you.
Good comments. I had the same questions. Kenneth Gentry videos were some of the online content that answered a good bit of those. Part of the context is history and the other is being familiar with old testament prophet phrases.
Great thorough job on this. There were definitely a few difficult parts but your application of Josephus’s writings and other historical accounts really helped tie together some loose ends for me. I never understood this text to be referring to the destruction of Jerusalem & the end of time. I just assumed it was all referring to the same thing but I never studied this in detail before either. When you look at the context of it all, it really does fit. Well done! Thank you for your efforts!
We are to be rooted grounded in Jesus Christ his word command and have no other Foundation like in Matthew chapter 4:4 man shall not live by bread alone but every word of God.
Another interesting point is when I read the passage in my Geneva Bible the verse commentary for v.29 describes it as the end of the world. Perhaps Jesus starts describing the end of the world SOONER than v. 36.
Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: --see Isa 13-14, Ezek 30, joel 1, 3; zep 1, zec 14 (these are not the end of the globe but somone's world. 1Pe the world is to be destroyed by fire not darkness). Also Dave Chilton has a good chapter on this language in Paradise Restored.
With in the past year I started looking at Matthew 24. I was so shocked that what I was taught all 20 some odd years is not true. Then came a look at preterist view. If full preterism is true the Bible doesn't pertain to us. It's like I fell into a hole I couldn't get out of. There is no denying Jesus pointing to AD 70. That was so heart breaking to me that the war was God’s judgement. It was so close to the time he died on the cross but sooooo many missed it. When you spoke of the distinction between those days and The day being the transition is very helpful. Through listening and reading this year I wonder if all Jesus's references to gehenna he was pointing to the fate of the Jews in AD 70. Any thoughts on that in your studies? Thank you for your earnest study.
hey brother, Thank you for the video. I have the complete works of Joseph but Ill have to look to see if the book you refer to is different. If so Ill have to grab a copy. whats the name of the podcast you were listening too? Thanks God bless!
"Then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven..." Let's back up and get a previous verse: Mat. 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. The sign of the Son of Man is Christ coming like a bolt of lightning flashing from East to West. That will be Jesus on the white horse, coming in all His glory and splendor to a planet surrounded by darkness. At first sight, like lightning, He is traveling very fast, but then He slows down and is seen as the Son of God in all His glory, and all will mourn. "IN heaven" can mean "the vaulted expanse of the sky with all things visible in it" (Strong) and does not have to mean where God dwells. Up in the sky is where He will appear as a lightning bolt.
October 12, 1979 - The return of "Son of Man" The worlds largest & strongest storm called "Hurricane Tip" took place. The storm started off in the east and went towards the west. The storm caused a freak event killing 13 Marines at Mount Fuji camp. These 13 Marines were corpses around which Vultures gathered. Back then, American called the Japanese "Vultures" in a famous song patriotic song before dropping an atomic bomb. The song was called "Remember Pearl Harbor" The Servant
"When the plain sense makes good sense, seek no other sense". The mental gymnastics necessary to arrive at these conclusions is pretty significant. I appreciate the work you put into these studies, but I think you've bent the readings too far in order to meet your intended outcome. I agree, this is a difficult chapter to understand at times - it's even harder to understand when you're trying to make it mean something that it doesn't.
Very thought provoking interpretation but I don't think there's any way v. 30-31does not pertain to the second coming of Christ and the rapture. You're exclusion of applying the end of the world context to those verses is based on your understanding that "this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done." However, I believe that also applies to the generation that will see the final prophetic fufillments that lead to Christ' return. For example the confirmation of the covenant in Dan. 9, the sixth trumpet war in Rev. 9, the third temple being rebuilt, the antichrist revealed as the abomination of desolation, the battle of Armageddon, the return of Christ and the rapture. This generation shall not pass, till all these things be done. I follow Irvin Baxter from EndTime ministries.
Mat 24:27 For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. Mat 24:28 Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.--context is about false ones saying Christ's coming is private. For = explaination as to why not to listen. Christ's parousia is public all will know like Vultures and lighting being public images.

The holy spirit had me study meditating on this scripture and telling what is to come John 16:12-15 Amos 3:7

Deuteronomy 29:29 there are some thing we will not know down here, or even after we are with the Lord.
"Then shall appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven..."

Mat. 24:27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

The prophets, nor Christ says a 3rd temple would be built.
Read Daniel chapter 7:13 you'll have better understanding
The generation that sees these things was not the apostles
The link to the notes is blocked, is there anyway other way to access it?
Thats what I want to know also.

this one was hard to understand
Check this out. This was one of the best, clear teachings I have ever heard on Matthew 24.ruclips.net/video/8MYtXoTcWng/видео.html

According to the scientists the sun will die in about 5 billion years from now.
So does that mean that Jesus will be back in 5 billion years from now?

Bill Gates wants to dim the sun, so we probably don’t need to wait that long.
Are you under the delusion that you are just like Jesus Christ AKA God himself? Or is this is churchy thing people like to say
