Ultimate RGB Tube Light Comparison & Review: Part 2 (Godox TL30/TL60, FalconEyes IRISA, SGC, Iwata)

  • Опубликовано: 15 авг 2024
  • In this video I review and compare 8 new RGB tube lights in the Godox TL30 and Godox TL60, Iwata Master S, Soonwell MT1, SGC Prism 60, FalconEyes IRISA 2, Luxceo P200, Lumin8 Spectrum, and SuteFoto TW6.
    I cover the standout features like green/magenta tint control, mobile app control, and included accessories to help you narrow things down and find the best RGB tube light for you.
    These lights range in size and features, and some are IP68 waterproof while others are magnetic.
    There is no one best RGB tube light for everyone, so watch the whole video, because the obvious choice for RGB tube lights isn't so obvious anymore.
    Make sure you watch Part 1 after this as well, because some lights in the original batch I tested stack up well versus these new alternatives.

      @@NewLayer Do you think I could put these behind the edge of my desk which is metal. I find the regular govee rbg lights always break or malfunction. I'm don't with those tape lights. Would one of these magnetic ones be good to light the wall behind my desk and monitor?

      @@jcap8391 I used a 4' tube light exactly the way you're describing, and it worked great! I had a metal cable management thing that it sat on/magnetically attached to, and pointed it upwards, and it was super easy, and way better than strip lights.
      A 2-light kit of 2' lights might be a bit more flexible, and allow for multiple colors too, which might be cool.

    Is the diffusion on the Falcon Eyes significantly better than the GoDox TL60's? Also, do you have affiliate links for the 4 pack of TL60's? When I click over to the 4 packs the URL gets significantly shorter so I'm guessing they're stripping out the affiliate links when I change SKU's.

      Yes it is much more opaque. The Godox lights are some of the least diffused, so if that’s very important for you, I’d stay away from them. JT, awesome video. Thanks. I purchased some TL30s and 60s and although I like them, I am very disappointed that when you look at the RGB lights they are not one uniform color, but you see all the little LEDS. Very annoying! Yes they can kind of blend into one if you set your camera settings a certain way and park the light way in the back of your scene. Also, I'm sure you know this, but Godox made a great 2 light bag for the VL30s. I ordered one, but they have not been released yet! They are the same bags as the VL60s. Those Soonwell lights are amazing and they just released some new ones, I wish I would have waited and bought those!

    I just got the godox tl30 4 pack. It came with a great case that holds all 4 lights and the accessories. The one thing that doesn't work is the gels. When I go to them on the app, nothing happens. However, I am able to change colors in the color wheel mode. Not sure if the gels only work with the TL60 or if I'm doing something wrong. Overall for the price, they seem really great. Thats my two cents. Thanks for the great and thorough review!

No luck in contacting or finding an online store, the attached email addresses no longer work. Sad because I actually love these in their longer form. Thanks for a great video! I have a small army of Aputure lights for my gaffing work, so the SGC prism seems like the ticket... However, I have heard that the output might not be great (compared, say, to quasar rainbows)? Any thoughts on that? Thanks!

    • @NewLayer
      @NewLayer  2 года назад +1

      I've never used the Quasar Rainbows, so can't comment on those specifically, but they are in the same range of brightness as the Nanlite Pavotubes, Godox TL60, and other tube lights of the same size. There's only like 1/3 stop difference between all of them for the most part, so not a big difference.
      I'm hoping Aputure releases some tube lights soon, and if possible, I'd try to hold out for that. Over time the Prism has become less reliable connecting with Sidus Link, so if that's your biggest selling point, it could be an issue.

    As good as the review is, as difficult it is for me to really choose one :) I want to replace my studio setup completely with 4-6 LED tubes and of course do not want to dump my money on a solution that is probably not worth it. (Just read your comment on the Godox TL60 diffusion :) I am a semi-pro, but have worked a lot with gelled lights in the past and therefore am looking for best "light output" regarding diffusion and brightness, battery-changeability, chargeability and overall app control:) Thanks so much again for your review and effort!!!! Regards from Germany

    • @NewLayer
      @NewLayer  2 года назад +1

      I just built a new home studio (posting a video about it later today) and used the Nanlite Pavotube II 6C, 15X, and 30X, which now support the Nanlink mobile app directly via Bluetooth. I chose them because I think they're all around very solid, and since Nanlite has tons of other lights, you can easily have all Nanlite gear for a very cohesive setup.
      If that's all you're using for lighting in your studio, I would suggest the 30X, which is 4'. It comes alone geni.us/nanlitepavotubeii30x or in 2 and 4 light kits geni.us/nanlitepavotubeii30x4
