Just wanted to thank you for the wonderful example Kent set for me. I heard his story in seminary back in 1996 when I was 16. He set the standard of personal righteousness which as I strived to reach, I gained a testimony and had so many wonderful things happen in my life. I tried to treat my girlfriend at school the way he treated girls with the highest respect, and I am blessed to be sealed to her today with our six children in the Stake Presidency in Australia. I will be introducing my eldest children to him now also. Thank you again for sharing.

My younger brother who has been on his mission since August invited me this week to listen to this story. I am in tears as I write this comment thinking about the impact he has had on me. He and Kent have a lot in common. I can’t imagine ever losing my younger brother. Such a powerful story.

I sang at Kent's memorial with 2 other girls a song written by David Turner. I had a terrible crush on him and was thrilled when he asked me to dance once. Of course about every girl had a crush on him. I sobbed my heart out when my friend called to tell me he died. His funeral was the only day I ever skipped school.

I have listened to this talk about 20 times. I love it, and Kent has changed my life in many ways. My testimony is stronger because of this story. It touches me every time I listen to it. I wish more people knew about it

I used to put scripture cards wrapped in cellophane in my shower. Study on the move. Now I do it when ever I take a college course just for the heck of it. I love this guy.

The CD can be found on Deseret book and Amazon. There is a VHS video of another version of the talk given at Kent's funeral. It's a bit more personal and emotional. Not being or ever sold but a number of us have copies. BTW I am Kent's brother Michael who is mentioned in the story about the mission impossible date.

Hi, I also saw your post on amazon and i was just wondering if I could get picture of Kent. It isn't salvation worthy or deathly urgent. Just the cat killing curiousness that my friend and i are sharing. Thank you!

My Favorite Story, it has a huge impact in my life because Kent is the best example of christ, and is a great example to me, it also encourages me to be better and show more kindness to others. ❤️

I heard this tape on my first day of seminary over 20 years ago in Meridian, Idaho in Brother Empey’s class. I have looked for this talk ever since as it tremendously impacted who I became in high school. Today with coronavirus and church being closed, I’m having my two boys (11 and 9) go on an hour long walk and listen to this talk on their headphones . I pray it provides the inspiration for them it was for me.

I remember hearing this story over twenty years ago. The way Kent lived his short life influenced many people for good. He was valiant in the testimony of Jesus Christ. I hope the way I live my life the LORD will also tell me that I was one of His valiant servants.
24 For we are saved by hope; but hope that is seen is not hope; for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?
25 But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. -- Romans 8

We heard this story as a youth and I never forgot my favorite part... the one Brother Johnson said if you remember nothing else remember this part...Loved this part about waging an “All Out War Against Satan”. Kill him with kindness is the best strategy 🥰... reminds me of the Prayer of St Francis. Lord, make me an instrument of your peace
Where there is hatred, let me sow love
    Where there is injury, pardon
    Where there is doubt, faith
    Where there is despair, hope
    Where there is darkness, light
And where there is sadness, joy
O Divine Master, grant that I may
Not so much seek to be consoled as to console
To be understood, as to understand
To be loved, as to love
For it is in giving that we receive
And it's in pardoning that we are pardoned
And it's in dying that we are born to Eternal Life

This story makes me cry. His example of a follower of Christ is resounding. We have to wage that war and fight that good fight, for our very souls depend upon the win! Don’t hold anything back when in the service of our God!

I first heard this story in probably 1996 when I was in high school. I loved it. I was at that time, always subconsciously searching for good examples of people living the gospel. I was always looking for someone to kind of lead the way for me and this story was so inspiring. Even though I grew up around many church members and had my own testimony of God and of His true Church, I was not from an ideal home, and I was trying to figure out how I fit in within the church and its members. This helped me, in part, to see that there really were good people out there trying their best, that I could marry a good man (which I did) and that I could try my best, too. Thank you to Larry Johnson for sharing his experience with Kent Williams.

Was lucky to have a date with Kent. Never forget, mongolian barbeque (cook the food in front of you), movie (he brought the newspaper and let me pick. Kent touched the lives of so many--still does! Never will forget the war he was waging with Satan as the fortified all weak areas making them strong--his example us all do the same. So glad to have known him :)

What an inspirational story. I can only imagine how much good work Kent Williams is doing in the next life. Spreading the truth of the gospel and bringing people to Christ and preparing those who are to be baptized through baptisms for the dead. I have no doubt that Kent will someday reach one million baptisms, or at least preparing one million people to be baptized. Though this story can be sad, it is also filled with good tidings of great joy. Thank you so much for sharing!

I've listened to this talk lots and lots of times, and every time I swear I get something new out of it. It makes me want to be a better person. It makes me want to grow my relationship with the lord. It makes me want to spread the gospel across the entire earth. I hope everyone gets a chance to truly sit down and listen to this talk. Thank you so much for putting this online, because it has affected my life exponentially.
