Oh my God! I was there!!! Hope & Anchor in Islington. Upstairs if I remember. They weren't gonna let me and my three mates in at one point because we, were skinheads. Obviously not the loony far right ones, old school “spirit of 69.”
This was my first time seeing them live. I'm here this morning because I just heard the very sad news about the passing of Terry Hall. Genuinely gutted when I found out around 4am. Non stop crying and I ain't ashamed to say that. Only 63. I'll be that come June next year (2023) This footage is pure gold. Thank you so much for putting it up here for us fans to see. On another note, me and my brother went to see them at Brixton for their reunion gig. First time the pair of us saw them together, not separately ;-)

Curious as to why they were playing the pretty small hope and anchor when they were HUGE in 1980
As far as I know they always played in smaller venues. I come from and live in Cov where they are from and they always played in nightclubs on stage.
1979 at the latest, no Rico in the line up.
