I actually, and literally, jumped out of my seat when i first heard this upon first release. No song, or voice, has ever done that before or since. Rest in Power xxx
Awesome track, which should have been The Specials first number 1.I was a young Rudie in 1979,and The Specials were my favourite band of all the 2Tone/SKA Revival bands. So sad when they split up in 1981 after GHOST TOWN,got to number 1.😢
I was into rock music in the late 70s so I wasn't exactly a fan, But now in my old age and wisdom I realise they were brilliant. Tbh I always had a soft spot for this number.....but I didn't tell my mates :)
Completely agree with you Stephanie.I was a 13 year old rudie in 1979,and this was my favourite SPECIALS track, which,by the way, should have been their first no 1.As good as TOO MUCH TOO YOUNG was,THIS should have been the bands first no 1.So sad that they split up in 1981,straight after GHOST TOWN was no 1,but between 1979 and 1981,the SPECIALS gave young rudies like me,a great time👍
this is the first specials song I heard aside from rudie which was on the radio. a friend made me a tape it also had drugs of youth on it which was the first subhumans song I heard. that always happens. if I dont decide I like something in an array of radio hits I invariably end up getting the best music ever handed to me. the one great thing about my life. thank god. or whatever.
Wish these fellas would reunite for a U.S. tour. Guaranteed sell-out auditoriums! Perhaps open the show with a couple of their favorite performers / bands? ✌️
Fantastic remastered sound.....but 13,000 views in 15 months? Should be a hundred times that, at least...these millenials don't know what they're missing.
@@tylerraleigh5092 Lol...If you're as old as I am, you'd know some of Bugs dance songs. Good to see another comment on hear. This was an awesome band and this is an awesome song.

RIP Terry Hall, the coolest guy in the world when i was growing up in the 80S. Thanks for the music Terry & the Specials.
A fabulous piece this. Timeless. Today the gangsters are not crooks or criminals....they're politicians.
They always were.
Even the gangster Bob Hoskins played in The Long Good Friday distanced himself from them when he said, " I'm not a politician; I'm a businessman."
@@bassage13 No, not always at all. Far from it.

Point at them, hey you! SF/
Brads drumming is perfect

Gen Z needs to know that ska is a movement and not a novelty.
Gen z needs to know what Ska actually is

A friend suggested this band to me as a way to get some basic ska knowledge. This was my favorite . Thanks kb☺.
This is actually Prince Buster - Al Capone cover/homage to the original. Now that is some OG stuff. ✌😎😉
@kenny Barclay Sorry thought it was a reference to last comment. I mean👍
The Skatalites are another old ska band worth checking out also.
@@terrythekittieful Thanks, I think I might have heard some of their stuff, but I'm not sure.
I think that Elvis Costello produced this record. If so, the entire album will having you dancing and humming all day
Time for a reunion.
18 when this came out 62 now and loving with my grand daughter 😍

The bass line in this song is sick
Dance Floor Filler, as Craig Charles might say. Best arrangement.
I remember seeing these guys performing this on Saturday Night Live 😊
