The tone comes freely out out of certain spots, but is constrained in all those beastly parts where it still has finish. Sounds distinctly like a spruce body.
I bought the original guitar that Dale Wilson built for the 2019 Namm show. The only difference to the guitar shown here is that mine has 22 frets. The guitar cost €6,679 at the time. Played unamplified, the guitar is much louder than my other Strats, which are made of alder or ash. You can see why spruce is often used for acoustic guitars. When played through an amplifier, the sound is very warm and full, but it's not as fat as alder and lacks the quick attack of ash. Overall a good guitar and also a good investment.
Not sure what it is, but the latest Dale Wilson guitars do have a specific character in sound, that I like a lot. My theory is that it’s a combination of the great sustain you get by good materials and construction together with some smoothness you get from whatever finish he uses to “fix” the relic work so it does not fall apart. Also great Demos from Peach, I bought several guitars there and they sound exactly as on the videos.
Holy cow John… the tones! The tones! Stellar demo. Always great to see you play or Jack from the old days (throw some guitars or cash his way to get him in sometimes eh? 😉)
I had a feeling the hidden feature was the body wood because by the look of it in the relic'd areas I thought it was either a cardboard or other wood body! lol..always enjoy your playing John!
Sometimes big john, peach guitars owner, plays a few choice Strats that come in. He used to do a lot more vids back in the day but I'm guessing he's busy
Wow. Great playing John. A 50s strat from Dale is a great change

Theres no substitute for volume. That cranked two rock is on another level. You can really hear it filling the room. Great capture.

that neck looks UNBELIEVABLE
Amazing guitar and rig. Great playing too. Praying for a lottery win :-). That tone is killer
Gorgeous guitar and playing
Great playing and an amazing guitar ! Lots of players avoid the bridge pickup as they tend to be really ice -pick like but that’s not the deal here .
What core wood did they use on this one? Was it all Spruce or only the Lam Top Wood was Spruce?
Crazy Spruce TOANZ

Yeah, looked like it was made out of cardboard to me too. Looks cheap. Not what you want in your Custom Shop Master built Fender Stratocaster is it.
I think it looks killer!
it does look killer! I meant no disrespect@@PeachGuitars
haha I doubt it@@anorak211

What's happened to Aaron?

Where is Aaron ?
Sounds amazing. Too much wear on a Dale Wilson though. I like them a bit less beat up.
this guitar has another real secret .. 'm gona tell'ya .. it has ... pickups ! and is beautifully played, right ?
