    This video is fantastically in depth.
    I'm using ableton for synths mostly, but it's just such a hassle since I'm doing everything else in Reaper - and especially the sampler and granulator in ableton. Do you have any opinion on how they hold up ? I'm like rally close to just buying it at this point.

      How what holds up? I’ve never used Ableton so I don’t know.

      @@daviddumaisaudio How the granulator and sampler in phase plant fare in terms of ease of use etc.
      But I downloaded a trial and it's a freaking blast working with phase plant. Thanks for showing good techniques and usable software and workflows for said software. It has helped me a ton the last couple of months in setting up a more professional workflow :)

      @@JazzInATinCan Oh yea, Phase Plant hold up great. Once you learn it, you can almost do anything with it.

    With the compressor in ott turned down, all you’re doing is equing?

      I’m not completely sure because it still sounds like it is leveling out the frequency bands.

      I don’t know if David uses the same. But there is an action already in Reaper. This video shows it in detail.

    Do you have a specific system to name and categorise all of your files in general?
    oh and also why do you keep all of these short impacts as stereo files and not mono?
    Really informative high quality video again ,Thank you :)

    • @daviddumaisaudio
      @daviddumaisaudio  Год назад +1

      I do have a systemized way of naming and categorizing my files. I’ve actually been planning on doing a video about that. Keep an eye out for that.
      As for the impacts, I keep them in stereo for flexibility. I’m not sure how I will be using them in the future so I keep them in stereo to keep my options open. But, yea. I could sum them all down to mono.

      @David Dumais Audio im using the UCS categorys. Although im not Sure if it is the most convenient way.
      Would love to see a video about your approach if it's different.

      @@Cloud2KK UCS is good. I use that as well, but not most of the time. For sure I’ll make a video. I’ve had a few requests on this topic.

    9:10 all you're doing is adding phase smearing from the band crossovers???? Just use disperser if you want that. Does it way more and takes less CPU

    • @daviddumaisaudio
      @daviddumaisaudio  Год назад

      Is that all that is happening? It may be. To my ears, it sounds like it is balancing out the 3 frequency bands. I may be wrong though.
